Necroposting, but my headcanon for why he goes crazy on you in 2nd fold, is because of things the player can't even see. Hugo makes a judgement, based on Alex and Joel's expressions, and considers if he can peacefully weasel his way out. Seeing their faces unafraid, and very much so ready to dispatch some folks for their goal, he keeps fighting - it's the only option he thinks he has. But on the 1st fold, due to their decisions and franchise having a lesser effect on them, they still see enough good in people to consider reasoning, coupled with being much weaker, but still competent fighters. So Hugo decides to cut his losses, and just leave - because this time, they will let him do that. And he knows that. On 0 folds, i think it's obvious he doesn't even remotely see them both as a threat. Hence why, as far as i remember, it results into a chase scene. 3rd fold is pretty self explanatory tbh.

i really like the concept of a chase scene in a game like this

i never even played infinity unfolds and this still affected me. these three are some of the most moral people in terms of LISA games and watching this happen lowers my mood
