A lot great pointers. Players need to realize when situations change. Playing your life at last point instead of getting guaranteed kills at crucial moment is game losing. The impact of staying alive that point isn't worth it. Always nuanced but that's why players should be actively thinking about what they should be doing or what they can do to win.

Small correction on the "160 damage per shot against DVA". JQ only deals 1/2 damage per shot vs armor. And DVA has the 25% crit damage reduction modifier.

in the first fight, it's actually the friendly widow who kills the enemy ashe! but I think the basic principles of deciding when to go in as tank still stand and I really appreciate them. I'm not even confident enough to try tank in comp yet, but when I qp with my friends, I've seen such a turnaround in my gameplay already just following the 3 item checklist.

Do you ever get frustrated having to say the same things over and over again to different people? Might not apply to this video but I have the phrase “Your job as tank is not to take as little damage as possible, it’s to take as much damage as you can” just stuck in my head 😅

very good review thanks. you can definitely tell my mindset is way too "go go go". Definitely need to take my time more and this is something I've been trying to work on for ages. I'm aware as Winston that you should generally avoid other winstons, my mindset was mostly though to try and retake/hold what I thought are "valuable" positions for my team. Though looking back at it there's alot of situations where there were better things to be doing. If only you could hear me at 41:58, I knew damn well how bad that was lol. I literally remember shouting out loud "I just threw the game" Jumps like those were mainly rust I can say. This was my first comp Winston game in 1.5 months. Though others were definitely just not optimal. hey adder i struggle on this map sometimes when the opposing tank is on dva because theres so much highground and she can just peel for anyone when i dive. Is the best way to attack this point by walking to the back staircase by the mega and attack from there after they back up from the bridge?

New mic sounds good! I have about 40 hours in Deadlock so far and it's my favorite moba/shooter right now! My most played character is Wraith, but I have played with all the characters to learn their kits. They have announced Bebop, Haze, Grey Talon, and Grey Talon are all getting imminent redesigns. You can even test out the unreleased heroes in sandbox with commands which is cool!

You're definitely right about the skill floor/ceiling. All the top gameplay captured in this first week is going to look poor a few weeks from now! People are still learning their own heroes, lane matchups against other heroes, itemization, the map, power spikes, limits and general strategies. The interconnectedness of all these mechanics adds so much nuance that's hard to take in all at once.

Huh, this game seems interesting and I'm surprised I haven't heard of it before. Obvious allusions to STALKER but in a 2D environment, it's quite robust and it's the kind of game I wish I had on my Vita about a decade ago, haha. If you haven't tried it already (and have about 300gb to spare) you should give STALKER Gamma a go (or the original games in general, they're dirt cheap most of the year) as that's pretty much this but in a 3D environment with everything tuned up to 1000% and you can easily lose around 200 hours in that game.
