Dude, I need your help 1 on 1.
@@austinhallock833 Not sure I can help, I’m a UA-cam creator, not a consultant. At least not until I retire.
Thank you for this episode. I learned a lot. I especially liked the part where you explained how to cost your takeoff.
how to get each segment values from segment takeoff??
when creating linear tool, mine creates a box shape. the mouse pointer shows box instead of "click to the next point". how to change this?
what if i have a drawing in meters, how do i set a 'standard' scale in meters-Standard option in scale tab?
Hi, is there any Add on Plug in for Duct take off quantity estimation
I don’t shop for plug ins, so couldn’t tell you for sure. I’ve been developing my own templates for 17 years now and just never needed any. Good luck.
Hi can you help me please. I am trying to auto height the text box area on a division template. Example : if I have 40 lines it runs into the next division unless I manually drag the box down in report designer. Your help
Thanks for explaining this to us all for free.
i have a lot of takeoffs but i wanted to see which drawings they were taken off from. can you add a column to the estimating tab to show the reference drawing numbers?
thank you for taking time to teach us ! great videos! can you make a video about wall height? i always have problems when doing a take off to find the height of new walls specially interiors. exterior i can almost always see the heigh in elevation drawings, but interior partition i find it hard to figure it out.
The thickness of the area is being multiplied by the system as feet, not inches. Could you please explain this to me?
I would love to see an Advanced Templates for painting. As easy as you make it seem. I still have a hard time doing data entry to make it all make sense. This is something I would pay for as a tutorial.
Can I hire you to make some templates for me or can you refer me to someone I can pay to make templates
At this moment I do not have anyone I know that can do this for you.
Hello sir,i just want to ask if possible to import excel formula into planswift?
PlanSwift does not use Excel formulas but the construct is similar I believe. I use Pascal for my If Then Else arguments. You can import Excel into PlanSwift but that’s something I’m no expert at.
hello. estmator take off is locked by planswift. we cant edit there. normal estimation side , additional items can be added and it is ok. for take off while exporting to excel, we cant edit the takeoff data
Hi sir your video was so verry informative. Can I ask a question how can I export my template format to my other Project? Thanks for answering!
thank you sir
Great video, thank you
Great video, thank you
How to make icons large ?
Months of on and off Googling for some additional resources to help learn about estimating and this is the ONLY learning material I've found outside of the subtle (yet still fake) articles that end up just being advertisements for some digital takeoff software... I started as a PE in heavy civil construction for a GC and then transitioned to PE then PM for a GC in commercial construction, & have just recently (roughly 15 months ago) moved into our estimating department. It's been fun but I feel as if the learning curve is steep while not getting enough actual practice to improve as quickly as I would like to. I just wanted to say that you taking the time to put ANYTHING together to help others trying to learn is much appreciated.
hi, when i have a takeoff from template (with sub-item) , copy & paste in this case is not completed , only takeoff item coped & pasted without its sub itemes , do u have anexplane for that ?
When I copy a takeoff item, all the takeoff must be visible to copy. Only those visible will copy to a new area. If you have calculated sub items that are NOT takeoff items, they should recalc with the new calculated values. You do have to hit the REFRESH icon in the Estimating window sometimes for those calculations to revise. Best I can tell you without seeing your takeoff.
Ive been following this series since the beginning, & became lost at this episode. I cant find anywhere on my plan swift where page s101 is to follow along
S101 is not part of the PlanSwift plan examples as I recall and was a plan I "borrowed" for this episode. You won't be able to find this exact plan, meant to just show, not follow along on this one. Sorry.
@@atlantaestimator No worries, thanks for clarification
Do you offer 1 on 1's?
Love the content so far, hopefully the later videos will be more zoomed in relating to the plans. Had a hard time following
Love this!, can't wait to follow your series in depth, & develop skills in the process. I've been a commercial plumber for 11 years, & am looking to make a career change now at age 31. You're the man!
Please how to add the plug in : Export by page to excel in planswift . Thank you .
can you please share the tamplates you use sir
You are doing a great job . Please continue to make more videos. These help me to learn a lot.
Take our POLL to help determine what's next
Thinking of using segment take offs for anchor bolts parts. Typical would be (segment length/6)+2. 6 is spacing and +2 for starting and end bolt with a round down function. Does this seem right to you?
It seems like that would divide each segment by 6 and add 2. I would try this in a new calculated field and see if you get the results you want. Then, enter that new field name into your QTY field so you keep it clean for multiplying the unit price. I tend to make a separate calculated field rather than make formulas in the QTY field. The advantage is that you can copy that field to any other item or even templates that you save.
@@atlantaestimator I understand, I just picked up the software a few days ago and realized I was making that mistake when I could have had the formulas in the back end. I also didn't realize i needed to create my parts first before assemblies. Thanks for the reply! Been learning a lot from your videos.
Great Video! Thank you, please make more!!
Do you have an email?
how do I erase one segment only with out erasing the whole lines?
If it’s a Segment, not a Linear, click on the segment and either backspace or delete should only erase one segment, not the entire takeoff.
thanks
Thank you for this series. Is there a way to align the grid to a corner? I install paver patios and would love to be able to use the grid as a layout tool. The paver system also has a pedestal at each corner. Is there a way to estimate how many of those I would need?
Thanks for the video sir, appreciated. Can u please do a tutorial for us on input condition options. Please 🙏
Hi- found you this morning. New job at 63 and I’ve been using blueBeam a long time and they use this one. Following so I can learn something new 😊
Hi Atlanta, Your videos are incredibly clear and helpful. Can you do a video on issuing reports, specifically on how to break down by drawing page? Thank you so much!
We may get into reports in a future video, we don't currently use reports as we export to Excel and use that for reporting. We will get to that this year, I just don't have a specific date yet. Thanks.
There is a plug in called Export By Page. Not really a report, but it exports your takeoff by drawing into excel.
Hello, This was very informative video thanks, I'm a MEP estimator can plz anyone guide me how I can get clients for my work. I've been trying to find clients for MEP estimation as a freelancer . But I can't find them . If someone can guide me I'll be very thankful
I'd sign on to a subscription service like PlanHub or Building Connected to see projects that are coming out.
@@atlantaestimator Hi, I have made my account on building connected and im getting invites but i don't know what to do can anyone guide my about this platform
@@muhammaduzairrana6441 I am sure there are videos on UA-cam, I don't have any yet. It does take some time to learn it. Will make a basics video on this once I have completed this course.
Can you give me the setup
Please what's the difference between planswift 10 and 9
Awesome videos, very informal. Question, would this formula also work for brick?
I have templates for masonry that include brick or CMU block so mostly, I would say yes.
This is awesome! I've been estimating for a year and could have used this at the beginning! Will you be covering RFIs and Addendums? For example: best practices for reviewing RFI responses or Addendum changes throughout the bidding process? Thanks!
I'll see if I can add that to one of the episodes. Thanks for bringing that up.
Please upload more videos in future. It is more helpful for a estimator guy like me.
I hear you. Working on another one now. Once we get through with this series, we're going to do another more advanced topics like building templates on-the-fly.
Nicely explained video. New sub to the channel. Planning on using planswift and integrating with Homefront software where I produce purchase orders.
I appreciate your videos, i know you use Plan swift takeoff software and I was wondering if you knew how to search for items in a Template. I have a lot of items in my template and sometimes it is difficult to find them when i need them.
I group my Templates in folders so I have never had the need to. I'll look into this and will reply back if I find a solution. Thanks.
How do you deal with errors in takeoff data.xml ? It happens when there is power outages rendering my takeoffs unable to be opened in PS. I tried getting rid or replacing of corrupt data altogether but I dont want to lose my days worth of work. Is there any way to recover it? Or am I just wishing ?
You are awesome sr. !!!!
