Sega needs to acknowledge the multiverse. Sonic is full of warp zones, special stages, time travel, and many different non-canon stories. Sonic is meant to have a multiverse. Bring Sally back in a cartoon, comic, or movie if they dont want her in a game.

It seems like one of the most infamous thing Penders is known for is absolutely horrible romance choices. And not just here. I get it, Boller’s approach for a Sonic and Amy relationship might not have gone over well, but it makes more sense than the Fiona one.

We knew this trailer would blow up the internet! So much action with almost every second! It’s cool that we can tell this is going to go differently than SA2. It makes me happy that for a change, it looks like G.U.N. doesn’t mistake Shadow for Sonic. We can avoid that plot point. Could Gerald have been frozen like Shadow, or is Eggman hallucinating? And if Eggman didn’t wake Shadow up, then who did? Regardless, I have a feeling I’m going to really love this movie!

I didn't like the two previous movies since how childish they are so I am not watching this on cinema despite Shadow is in it. I'll stick to Sonic X adaptation of the games, thank you. Ps: I see no Rouge on the trailer. Did she got the axe for being not PG?

I used to HATE Archie and Sally... until I gave it a chance. Although neither are amazing characters and their designs are both kinda mid [sorry], Sally has more of a background lore than Amy and her character ties to the greater plot overall while Amy felt like a joke character for years [while SoJ lazily told us she was Sonic's love interest].

Archie comics was interesting b/c it gave the nonsensical world of Sonic an actual storyline and depth which is something kids, teens, and YA love. Modern SoA pandered to bitter adult men who barely liked the "coolness" of Sonic in the first place and wanted a Mickey Mouse rip off. Then SoJ kind of unwittingly added to that with their lack of lore and storytelling altho they're now course correcting after DECADES with SonicxShadow and Frontiers. Anyway I still think SoJ should use some SoA ideas like Mobius, the Freedom Fighters, ect, and I say this as someone who formerly was a SoJ purist. There's a reason why historically Sonic wasn't that popular in Japan but his marketing in the West made him a huge hit. Even the Japanese don't like stripped down, nonsensical barebone stories that SoJ keeps pushing for Sonic which is why SA2 and Frontiers were so big there. Tl;dr sonic needs more intrigue, fantasy, worldbuilding, and lore, and not just animals running around naked with no reason and aren't even afforded character development or nuance to boot. even Mario has it

I have a lot of thoughts about this, but for civility I'm going to be brief. 1. The Lara-Su Chronicles sold well, (for an indie comic anyway,) if it hadn't I honestly doubt Ken would be moving forward 2. If you're not a lawyer I'd recommend keeping your mouth shut about the law. 3. Archie Sonic and it's app have been out of commission for almost ten years. Pretending using scans from both is some disgusting and heinous act is just dumb. 4. The Lara-Su Chronicles isn't going to impact Sonic in any way, pretending it is is either you being disingenuous or stupid.

As far as I’m concerned, Ken’s characters and concepts belong to SEGA. He created them for a comic commissioned by SEGA, so SEGA should hold the rights to them. If Ken has a problem with that, he can go curl in a corner.

I hate to break this to you, but the whole breakup scene was entirely made-up by Jon Gray. He disregarded what Karl Bollers had in mind for the issue and made up his own scene - all because he didn’t like Sally and wanted Sonic to be with Amy. So whatever he says, Jon Gray’s ultimately to blame for this. But I do agree that Archie Sonic is more than its bad issues.

Honestly fans should give up hope on her coming back she only ever appeared as a small reference in pinball she was never canon to begin with and unlike idw was always meant to ve completely separate from canon she's gone and just not coming back

After seeing the original vid and this, I personally think perhaps it'd have been better if the settlement of the Archie case never happened and it was instead given to the jury, considering the common folks *should* recognize Ken's work as being a licensed Sonic work first and foremost-- thus giving Penders a much larger chance to lose the case than Archie, even if Archie's legal team totally blew the actual court case.

Just subscribed because this is a really good analysis. I plan to check out your other stuff as someone who only got a couple Sonic Super Digest comics at Publix near the end of Archie Sonic's life.

I’d say that if any legal argument was settled in kens favor it would open the flood gates for other potential lawsuits the the comic book industry doesn’t want to deal with. Could you imagine the lawsuit a Batman writer could have if DC lost a work for hire contract?

I don't hate sally acorn or the freedom fighters i think they can be really cool characters but they just don't fit i with the way sonic characters are created and sonic franchise kinda.

So it finally got finished, huh......................Why? This seems to be a one shot anthology, would I buy it? Probably since I like collecting badly written comics to learn what not to do and I have a bunch of them, but to be far that comic art ^_^ is a big turn off for me.
