JDM Legend Revival!: 1972 Celica @ 2024 Lake Garnett Grand Prix
This year we spell redemption... D. A. L. E! Join Ian and his crew as they take on the 2024 @LakeGarnettGrandPrixRevival an event packed with historic cars, high-speed sessions, and unforgettable moments. Watch as they load up Dale, their 1972 Celica with a JDM 18RG engine swap, and hit the road for a weekend filled with racing, cool cars, great stories, and thrilling on-track action.

AW11 MR2 Rallycross - Update - Low Compression Issues

Is this a short? UA-cam says it will be.. someday I guess. I think this may be a new way forward for the channel. 3 mins every day or so to catch you up on progress and then save the long form videos for mostly racing content. Does that sound right to you? Let us know in the comments if you please. You’re probably here for the MR2 content so let me catch you up. We’re nearing the end of the 202...

Maybe it's two stroke I know some of the Japanese motorcycles are two stroke
I like this theory
If you were at the @lggpr this year, what were you driving? If you were just there to watch what was your favorite car? Ian - My favorite car (other than Dale) was a beautiful triumph TR4 that was swapped with a Ford 302 V8. A TR4 is definitely on my bucket list.
hahahaha the boys are back in town was the best ! lol

What a wonderful song it is.
@oioracing I am running a 20r with some head work and 40s (Webbers)
So if adjustment is needed which size feeler gauge do you prefer?

And every year
Tell me your passionate about Garnett without telling me your passionate about Garnett 👍. Good to see Dale is off life support
I mean.. I will just tell you 😂
Lets go Dale!!! love this project. I also have a 1972 celica same color too cant wait for more content on yours!
Outstanding! Can’t wait to see some footage of it ripping!
Your videos are always the best! Wouldn't be LGGPR without you!
Thanks rod! Next year we’ll be there with at least 2 cars. Dale of course.. and a Corolla of some vintage from my stable.. hopefully some other guys from the team will come out for 25 too. We could make for an interesting crew on track :)
I've got a bit of a problem, i hope you may be able to help. I got a 2003 GD3 Fit, with the seven speed mode button. When i use the the button during the day it works great, Strangely using it at nights it causes the dash to start flashing away until i switch it off or use the gear level . I'm wondering if its a electrical ,load issue or what??? Can you or someone in the comments please help.
It’s like the first time I’ve seen an engine that is in palliative care give the old girl all the support she needs 🙏🙏🙏
We’re pulling for her. She’ll live on after this season.. just not in this car ;)
Don't tell me how to live. You're not my real dad.
Best I can do is “father figure” but.. do as I say.. not as I do
Looks like so much fun I've always wanted to build a car to do this
Let’s go bud! A Honda fit is a fantastic and cheap way to start. $1500 in springs, sway bar, wheels and tires and you’ll be ripping in no time! Ask us any questions you want, we’re always happy to help get new drivers on track.
@oioracing sick! I had a Honda prelude years ago that it was going to build but didn't have the time or money I would like to get into it in the next year or so though maybe pick up a fit or another prelude or anything really
@ils360 the prelude is heavy but they do swing which is nice.. but finding one for cheap will be tough. We’ve got a few videos on our channel about the glory of the Honda fit.. we’re convinced it’s the new, 4 door, carry all your crap, Miata.
@@oioracing oh I had a 93 prelude not the last year the last year I would have to agree is very heavy the 93 was only I think 300 lb more than the fit.
every vid i’ve seen they take off the whole windshield wiper assembly but here it looks unnecessary. maybe that’s for the GE8 only
Definitely required on the GE8. Here it’s a preference. If you are doing anything with the plugs you’ll probably want to yank that stuff out regardless.
I’m currently in the process of flushing my 87 mr2 coolant system(it sat for years and it’s disgusting). According to the owners manual, service manual, and at least one video on yt you bleed the air out by attaching little hoses to the bleeders on the thermostat housing, heater, and radiator and elevate them. That way when you’re filling it up, you can see the coolant coming up the hoses and then see them go down as the engine runs and air burbs out(thus avoiding coolant in the driveway and circulating it throughout the system). I think I’ve been having the same problem you had with my thermostat and heating up because my coolant so far isn’t coming up the engine bleed or radiator bleed.
Then I wasn’t too far off track doing it in the slanted driveway with the back end up.. but yeah that sounds complicated enough to be the real process. For the record though it runs cool now… it’s just got a ring completely blown out in #3 😬
❤ Dale loves the 18rg
On my 2008 it didn’t take high miles. At 70k it started stumbling. I remember this was happening to many people. I think a lot of them weren’t adjusted right from the factory.
Thanks for the tribute your aseme

The only takeaway i got from this is that there are some backwards savages in the world that refer to Indicator lights as "flashers"
a trick to use when you're half deef, also
That is so satisfying 😂
Cool
So this is what makes the blinker noise?!?!?!
Yup. A physical clicker clacker
@@oioracing dude thanks for showing me that
@@oioracingThat’s cool I’ve never actually seen the mechanism before
Man I used my REBOOT RBM-2000 welder to make me some cowboy spurs ...bro.... Wonderful all the things one can do in free time out of scrap 🤩
Fuse can be fixed with cigarette pack tin foil. Even cheaper.
At least he was thorough
Ill weld your nut to a broken bolt!
Yeah order of operations has got me a few times i feel ya
seen one of those at FLL dumpster, looked new
I don’t know what that is but I want to go to there
Best tutorial ever
I am sure it's fine .... might save you a few tickets that way
😂 it’s all good except the hole in my shoe.
You should boil water over the stove & as it’s boiling, drop the thermostat in the boiling water to determine if the thermostat functions. By the way, where are you in MO?
Kansas City area. Thanks for the tip. I got bad grades in science.
Honda Fit is Honda Grom of cars
Perfect.
For the record… no one said that.
Fantastic video, and awesome driving! it was fun competing with you at my first RallyX. (I'm the dude who was in the newer mustang)
You gotta come back! It’s always more fun with more competition.
@oioracing ill probably come back to i35 again at some point! Eventually I'll pick up a dedicated rallycross car.
Learn to Tig weld and you can erase those wrong holes over and over again.
I thought about remaking it out of steel for this very reason but then i figured out it’s too small overall
Curious about the parts list
I’ll see if Richard can shed some light on that
Nice i have a toyota celica ta23 from 1977 met a 2tb engine all origineel
Sweet carbs
First of all thank you very much for your video! Q: from what I see in your video it looks like you did not have to remove the wipers or plastic cowling or a metal shelf underneath. but is that also correct for my 2012 jazz hybrid? Please confirm. thank you so much!
For valves it’s probably not required but if you intend on doing any work with the coil packs or plugs it’s a must.
@@oioracing Thank you!
Perfect way to edit that clip ⚡️you took Ryan back to the hippie days
I've done that on roofs, in kitchen cabinets, under cars, if you are tired you can sleep anywhere. The funny thing is when I have a bed and can't sleep.
It's both 1 it's just one part 2 it's a major part
