What is your go to tobacco that you prefer? Are those blue zen tubes your go to also? Im just starting out and trying to find out what i like. I want a regular king size tube to make a light cigarette. The tobacco I've tried is gambler gold, which was awful, ohm silver which is okay but very mild/light. And good stuff silver which is about the same, maybe not as good as ohm. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Do you need to chop the tobacco before using this machine or will it take regular pipe tobacco without issues? Thanks

There should be an automated machine for this step. I wonder why Power-Matic has not got on this. It does not seem like a hand held machine would be that hard. I’m thinking of a blender blade with a cigar size tobacco drop through.

I use a strainer or sifter. Just got my PW-3+ and it's very finicky. I use Gambler Tobacco which is already finely cut & after sifting, it jams. So I cut it more fine & it'll jam every 2-3 tubes. Doesn't really pack 100 tubes all that great. Does Kings fine. Thinking of getting the Hawk HK-3 but I'm hearing it does the same.

Do machines like this ever pack the tobacco too loosely? I'm considering buying one but am just a bit worried they'll be too loose, my current machine is one of those tiny manual ones, works but never gets it all in one go.

Food processor or a coffees grinder works a lot better and a lot faster. If you use a coffee grinder, don’t run it too long. The tobacco will turn to dust and plug up your Powermatic. If you use a food processor you can do a full pound at once!

When i saw you open up the sealed tobacco, i think i had a little dribble running into my beard. A 50gram pouch of drum is $150 Aussie dollars here. I purchased the powermatic4 a couple of days ago and it is also a nice machine. My only complaint is that king sized tubes,8mm in diameter is what is required.I'm guessing the Powermatic3 takes the same tubes. It would have been great if the machine used a 6.5mm tube or that of a normal ciggy. Maybe there is a reason Powermatic did not do this.

1200pmi took mine apart and found2screws rolling around in the bottom they belonged to the spoon but you can't get to it to put them back,so I took the screws off of the start an counter which is over the spoon but there's 2 screws I can't to?they are angled as such any ideas it's a tight spot!!

Thanks for the foray into the 'Matic 3. I must be rough on my machine. I'm only over 6k on cigs made and I'm now getting constant jams. So I'll have to pop it apart and get groovy inside it.

i juat bought the hawkmatic.. thing paid for itself in the first week. In ma a pack of newport 100s are 13$. If anyone is on the fence...do it..its worth the inital investment.

I use a toastmaster vegetable chopper that I bought at a garage sale for two bucks. Caution do not keep grinding just give it a couple of pulses. The machine will work in about two or three auto fills. I also have a finisher, I go all factory when I make them.

friend, anti-seize contains powered metal and is a poor general lubricant. it's primarily used on bolt threads in very high heat applications; for example, exhaust manifold bolts. bolt threads are very commonly deformed by very high heat, especially high heat/cooling cycles. they also oxidize quickly in high heat. the powdered metal in anti-seize is a gap-filler and also will not oxidize coherently with iron oxide. (different "rusts" won't bond.) the lubricant in anti-seize holds the powdered metal and makes the threaded bolt easier to remove. industries with high-heat application machinery use it by the gallon.

according to the manufacturer, all you need to do is spray air through the hopper and use WD40 on the spoon area. This can be done without taking it apart.

If you remove the 4 screws on the bottom and the 2 screws to the left of the display you can open it for more access. You may have to unplug the ribbon cable from the top to get it fully accessible but its easy to get in and out.

I have taken mine apart,but I ordered my second one before I began. No need to pull the shorty screws on the bottom center. Don’t touch the circuit boards. Don’t lose the two buttons contacts when you are taking it apart. They are little insulator pads with a small metallic contact. Keeping our smoking purchases should stay a secret,, unless you want a democrat figuring they want their cut. Please edit out the math, the tax stuff before a democrat watches this video.

I have the powermatic 4. My cigs cost $10.00 a carton or $1.00 a pack. If i didnt roll my own my wife and i would never be able to afford to smoke.
