I thought this battle was gonna be hard when i got into it, but it turns out Myrkul was talking $H!T for someone being surrounded by Gunpowder barrels, a Wizard and a Warlock with Wall Of Fire and Cloud of Daggers, and a Druid with Call Lightning. And what got really funny is i got the "No free lunch" achievement for beating Myrkul without him getting to eat any of his Necromites 😂

People saying fight is super easy are obviously playing on a easy difficulty setting. On my tactician playthrough this was the toughest boss fight. Way harder than Rafael. By the time you get to Rafael you have a ton of super OP spells (like hold monster) and items (band of mythic scoundrel)

Genuinely left horrified the first time I saw it. SO. FUCKING badass. The music, the voice, the story just UGH. GAMES LIKE THIS.

I was so happy that Myrkul returned in BG3. He's one of my favorite Forgotten Realms gods, and loved his role in Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer.

There is only one legitimate downside to how fucking hard this boss fight went: It really kinda showed up what the majority of Act 3. Like, you just killed *the Avatar of a Fucking God* what the hell else is going to feel like it can follow that act? Sure, I think the Netherbrain managed it, and I'll even say that the duel with Orin felt *good enough* to at least not fall behind, but Gortash, despite being a *delightful* villain in my opinion, just didn't feel like he could keep pace as a follow-up to this moment. I wish Thorm had instead focused more on the theme of Undeath, and *Gortash* had instead been the one to become an Avatar of his god for his boss fight. Maybe Thorm summons some *Titan* of an Undead with himself at its heart, or *something* that might let the game still have room to escalate.

I was like oh shit when the boss showed up, but I was kinda disappointed to have killed him in 2 turns. Dimension doored close to the angel lady to help her. Then used my prehastened paladin with giant juice and protection buffs to run up to keep smashing smite on it for 40-50 dmg. Took it down to 60hp after my paladin’s turn. Gale’s wall of fire. Myrkul takes a 30dmg swing to my paladin, and then it was easily finished off by the paladin once it was my turn again.

I wish I could loot Myrkul after the fight. I'd steal his hat for Jaheira.

Oh wow, he looks terrifying, and like he could almost KO a 2 HP from full Karlak in 1 hit. It would sure be a shame if an enterprising Dragonborn Stunning Striked him every single turn so he couldn't do a damn thing until the turn before he dies (I ran out of Ki points)

On my very first run, when I finally beat Ketheric and this started to play, my butt cheeks just snapped together from realization that this is the second phase, and I was already pretty beat up.😂

Basically nobody talks about the fact that, for some reason, voice lines of Myrkul are so quiet it's basically incomprehensible without subtitles, really weird..

Having Shadowheart and Hope use Divine Intervention here was a life saver. Also the perfect timing to throw the Iron Flask for the Spectator to come out and run wild a little. Although he was underleveled at this point, he still took damage like a Champion and fought some Cambions off. Awesome moment

I had rushed through the mindflayer colony just to finally finish this act, it was like 2 in the morning, Gale had maybe three spell slots left, Shadowheart was nearly dead, and then this guy turns into an avatar of death. I damn near cried. Beat him, but man, that was a struggle.

The sound effect for his “Touch of Death” move made my jaw drop. The sound building up in pitch only to momentarily disappear and suddenly get smacked with that bass filled echo sounds like the kind of maneuver only a god can pull off. Also it cut Karlachs health in half. I just stacked some black powder barrels and wall of fired his ass

Such a cool scene dripping with atmosphere and tension.

Funny I saved that runepowder barrel from the grim forge. Lit that thing in it's face after making it vulnerable to all damage. The lord of bones met Oppenheimer that day

no idea why but after this cutscene came up after one really short butt whoopin i cackled like a bloody hyena 😂 he still had health so i was like bro your a chicken crying to your god you can still stand another round or two of magic arrows 😂 meh used the magic arrows on his god it was quick work if i could i would have danced 💃 on the battle ground
