Thank you, Stephan! Much appreciation, my friend. By the way, I was trying to figure if you sent me more Massive Attack besides the compilation and Blue Lines (since I've now finished the latter)? I couldn't find anything else in my email to that effect but let me know if you did and I'm just forgetting. Cheers!
Happy birthday Matt. Just popping in to wish you and your family a very happy christmas and all the best for the new year from a sub in the West of Scotland, UK who subbed to your channel because of your extensive A-HA deep dives inc solo stuff. Happy Holidays Matt and Lukka. Take care 😘🏴 ❤️🇳🇴❤️ A-HA FOREVER ❤️🇳🇴❤️
Awesome stomping mix, I loved it. ❤ Such a fun one, too! 😊 Haha, those bleeping sounds throughout amuse me. Great opener, great closer (Turn Down the Lights really caught my ear since the first time I heard it), and everything in between. 😁 I was very surprised with all that unexpected acid, right from the start (1:04)! Amazing! 😜😎 Great transitions, too. I can't pick a favourite track, but there are a few highlights on every of them, including a few riffs and a lot acid-filled segments 😉, for instance (starting around): 1:15, 3:55, 6:48, 11:00, 11:42, 13:05, 14:30, 15:35, 16:05, 17:55, 18:25, 19:45 (that bass!), 20:18, 22:12, 23:37, 25:00, 26:44, 27:47, 31:57 (ok, roll the drum 🙂), 34:03, 34:24... And Turn Down The Lights just lights me up (42:25!)!💡 Oh, nice move (39:47)! 😎 Lucca does a brief guest appearance from 4:10, she becomes almost invisible lying on the floor until she gets up at 5:10. 😼 Then she comes back at 7:10 to disappear under the the turntables until she goes away again at 9:10. 😹 I guess she can't hear the sound, can she?
Indeed, apparently acid has become a more common element in raggatek in recent years (certainly of Vandal's tracks) compared to a decade ago, when it was much more rare. And I love all the time-codes, you highlighted many great acidic moments, both bigger acid-riffs and more subtle acid-accompaniment. You have become very acid-studious. 😘❤Hahaha, I didn't really notice Lucca much while mixing, but she was coming and going at different points, wasn't she? And actually, my speakers were putting out a little sound (which makes syncing the direct-line audio with the video afterward easier), though it was very quiet, so Lucca probably thought it was pretty mellow compared to other times. 😸😽
@@mattsnider2667 Thank you! 🤗🥰 I didn't even have a clue about acid a year ago, but I think I have an ear for it. 👂😁 I was afraid you might trip on Lucca at some point. 😸
"A licky boom boom down" - They don´t write lyrics like that anymore! Great Mix!
Haha, Snow's original is a masterclass, I still remember hearing that on the radio constantly in the '90s. 📻
Happy Birthday, Matt!! Have a great day! 🥳🥳🎉
Thank you, Michaela! I did indeed. 😎🎂🎁
Happy Birthday, Herr Von Snider!
