Good fix👍
Thanks man. I've tested it, it works Appreciate you watching and commenting
the flat spot on the rotor??? lolol
I didn't know it was like that until I did this video. Said I'd change it and never did. I sold it to a buddy, he daily drove it in Missouri, in the Ozarks. He sold it to a local Missouri guy and it still has that rotor on it, and still gets daily driven in the mountains. Clearly, that makes no difference. I thought it was hilarious also. I'll definitely change the next one?!?!?!? Thanks so much for watching and commenting I appreciate it
@@funjunkiegarage I appreciate your channel, ty!
Absolutely.
Thank you for the great video.
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Why would you do that in the first place
Looks like he was trying to fit his tires so he removed the mud guard
Tires were probably scrubbing
To clear the larger tires I had to remove the plastic inner fender.
Correct
Yes, exactly
Excellent vid
Thank you very much
Question does lockers increase fuel consumption
No, not that I've ever noticed.
As always I like your tutorials!👍You’re an excellent wrench sir!
Thanks brother. Happy you enjoyed the video. Much appreciated.
Ive ran the Lock-Rite lockers in the front and rear of the 40 for about 20 years and have never had any problem with them. Should be a great improvement for the Tundra.
Thanks Mark. I've ran them before as well. I knew you had great luck with them. I've already hit the test facility and it's definitely a great improvement.
there is a crush sleeve, he is tightening the pinion bolt too tight. he didn't even torque. he drove that seal too in. This would give him a bunch of headache
No, I didn't tighten it too tight. I never torque. The seal was not in too far and no headaches. It works perfectly, doesn't leak and has had 1000s of miles put on it without issue. It's fine.
Anyway you could put the link up for the part to purchase?
I wish I could. I got it from Rock Auto and I cannot share a link from them. Put in Chevrolet ,1990, c1500, 5.7, then go to fuel/air and select throttle body rebuild kit Hope this helps
I got a complete third member from East Coast Gear sitting on my shop floor right now along with a complete front SPARTAN locker and REGEAR for 5:29 Gears ! Got to get my Race car done and off the jack stands then do the RUNNER !
Nice that sounds awesome
how do you get it off when it’s stuck??
Use a gear puller. Bolt type, not jaw type
What rear bumper is that? Looks great!
I made that rear bumper. Thanks

Toyotas will run forever but normally they rust apart before that 😆. I love my first gen Tundra and I've done all that a few years ago. Did everything but the rockers and now it's time for them before it starts eating into the floor

My hatch is operable but wanted to find out how to lubricate it. Thanks again.
@levydan4370 with the plastic trim panel off and the metal panel removed you can get to the latch assembly and all the window workings as well as the window run channel. I'd also spray lube into the latch from outside (hatch open) Hope this helps, let me know.
@@funjunkiegarage keep you posted. Thanks.
Fuck video.
Awesome Tutorial Playlist Brother!! Can you do a video tutorial on both fuse boxes and their contents? - What the fuse variations are for and what they ultimately lead to? ( before you had installed the dash/interior - Would have been nice to go through all the wires, where they connect to, what they are for, what can be deleted, What fuses controls dash/motor/charging/brakes, the hookup for the pedal cables/pedal sensor/ etc)... I have 1984 r22 extended cab 2wd 5 gear transmission but my wiring is spliced and cut and diverted ... lol
Thank you! Happy to hear you are enjoying my videos. Hate to hear you're having wiring issues, they're the worst. Do you have the fuse block covers? They identify the fuses and relays. I'll look at mine and see if I can do any additional explanations. Thanks for watching and commenting and supporting my channel.
@@funjunkiegarage I have really enjoyed all your videos and you/they have inspired me. All the fuse cover stickers are worn out but i found some images on the internet that i use. My truck runs okay but I'm trying to get it back to stock as much as possible. Do you have an Instagram page or somewhere that i can send some images? Please continue with the r22 videos tutorials - Your awesome brother 💯

I got an 04 with close to 400,000 miles, the 2 major problems with these 1st gen were rusty fame and ball joints.

Hello there, I own a 1998 Toyota t100 fail state inspection. Passenger side upper control arm took off the old one, no problem but now I’m trying to install new arm and I can’t. Any tips o tricks you can provide me. Thanks
Need more information. Why doesn't it fit? What is not fitting? Did you get all new and the bolt holes dont line up?
I need to replace the inside boots on both of my axles so I read the removal procedure in the service manual . It pretty much has exactly what you did. I said to myself, no way can it be that quick. You just proved it is. Thank you so much for the video.
You are absolutely welcome. I've never read the manual, so I'm happy to hear it agrees with me. 😆 Thank you for sharing and for watching and commenting. I appreciate your support of my channel.
Great video I just failed Pa inspection for leaks in the y pipe Ill have to do this soon this made me alot more confident I can get it done in a day or 2. What year is this ive read the flanges are different between 95-97 and 98-2000
Thank you. Happy to hear you're going to do it yourself. I aim to inspire with my videos. Let me know how it turns out please. I appreciate you watching and commenting
Did you torque the 6 bolts that hold the rotor? If you what are the torque specs?
I didn't torque them, I used my 3/8 impact to bring them down tight
rogh work.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Buy the Toyota version next time..lol Maybe you'll get 5 years out if it..😅Great video..👍
Yeah, next time, I'll get the Toyota version. Thank you and I appreciate you supporting my channel
It'll chew up the driver side brake pads and cause the rotor to warp too if not fixed sooner rather than later. I'm speaking from experience. My 08' Tundra is currently shakin all over the place. Great instructional video, thank you!
Good information to share. Thank you. Glad you found the video helpful. I appreciate you watching and commenting and supporting my channel

Great job - Fun and Oz appreciate the shoot view out of the vehicle without the radiator in the way.
Awesome thank you. It does help with it out if the vehicle for sure. Appreciate your support man.
Got a question for you all. I have a 2017 Tundra, and ive been having some noise over bumps from the front end. Ive looked at everything up there and replaced breaks. The drivers side CV shaft on the inner housing, i can move the housing up and down a fair bit, and it makes a clanking noise - cant move the inner passenger side at all. Is this normal or potential issue. When i talk about moving the housing up and down, i know there is horizontal movement in the cv shaft which is normal. I have replaced the CV shaft, noise is still there, and i believe its worse now. The CV shaft is fully inserted in the housing as it contacts the diff it attaches too. Second question, when i pulled the inner seal on the diff that contacts the CV shaft, there was an o-ring that came out, questioning whether i put it back correctly. Thank you for any help.
Sounds like the needle bearing on the driver side that the cv rides on is bad. Look into ECGS bushing replacement. And replace the seal at the same time.
You are absolutely amazing man! Thank you very much for the schooling.
Right on brother, thank you for the awesome compliment. You're definitely welcome, glad you enjoyed & learned something. I appreciate your support.
Thanks for the awesome video. I just completed it. When I got it all back together I noticed two shims on the ground. They looked clean, so I assume they’re from the new bearing. Somehow I didn’t even see them- How critical are they?
My existing bearing had 1 shim and I reinstalled it in the same place it came out from. Of the 4 I've done, this is the first shim I've found. My new bearing didn't come with any. I'm no professional, but I can't see it being a big deal. They are very thin, I wouldn't worry about them personally. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
how was the removal with that axle since it doesn't have much to work with on the diff side?
They aren't bad at all. Just work the pry bar between the dust shield and the axle end ( it will pop the shield off, but it goes right back on) and pry against the diff like normal. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and asking. I appreciate your support.
@@funjunkiegarage thanks my man. I appreciate your reply. I’ve changed a mess of standard axles on my third gen but I wanted to give these a try.
Definitely worth a try. I find them to be fairly tough and the boots take the extreme angle well. I got mine from Rock Auto and they are lifetime warranty. Warranty process is easy. I've broken a couple (being stupid) If you get them, let me know what you think please. Thanks for watching and commenting brother, much appreciated.
@@funjunkiegarage Got them installed this morning. Went in easy peezy. All it took was a couple whacks from the BMFH. I usually hang the axle on a rubber bungee and hook it to the spring to give me a straight shot and worked like a charm. Ill get some miles on them next week on a road trip and see how they go. They look like a winner. I have my truck lifted 3" with 33'' so I'm hoping I see a lot better geometry out of the setup. I've had a diff drop in for a long time so that was giving me a little relief with the stock axles but this should set me straight. Thanks again.
You're welcome. Glad to hear the install was a breeze. I think you'll like them. I appreciate the update. Enjoy your next journey.
Cool video. I have a 2002 the same color with the hood scoop. I love it
Thank you. That's a great color, this one is a 96
I did this in 20 minutes literally. Thanks so much!!! Unbelievable.
You're welcome. Happy to hear it all went well. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. I appreciate your support.
Center bearing from Rock Auto that is supposed to fit my truck does not. It has mounting arms at a weird angle and looks larger than the one on my 94 Pickup. Not sure what truck uses the part they sent. Luckily it was a close-out part so didn't cost much. They are refunding half my expenses and I can keep the part, although I don't know what I will do with it. Would cost too much to ship back and they won't cover that.
Wow, that's unusual, from my experience, to get a wrong part. At least you got something back.

It's a nice touch for sure.
