Descent II Vertigo (1996) Longplay
More of the same from Descent 2, only I think the Vertigo levels are actually better than the main campaign. They're smaller and more compact than the Counterstrike levels, but the build quality and texture themes are better overall. The only thing I dislike about Vertigo is the constant use of wall traps and monster closets - and the continuation of larger bots within smaller bots as a cheap trick to increase the surprise factor. Other than that, a thoroughly enjoyable run! Played casually on Linux using the DXX-Rebirth port.

Descent II (1996) Longplay
Переглядів 13 тис.4 роки тому
WARNING: This video is only in sync on 360p and 1080p. For some reason UA-cam messed up the sync, not sure why? This is a casual longplay of Descent II played on Linux using the DXX-Rebirth port. I didn't find all the secrets, and I skipped a bunch of secret levels (despite finding multiple exits) because I just don't really enjoy the secret levels all that much in this game. So, Descent II is ...
Descent (1995) Longplay
Переглядів 14 тис.4 роки тому
This is a casual longplay of the original Descent using the DXX-Rebirth port on Linux. The version is a little dated as I was unable to successfully compile the later versions. So I ended up using the one in the repo. Descent and the Descent series of games are among my most favorite games of all time. It's also one of the first games I ever played on a desktop computer as the OEM version of th...
Red Faction II (2002) Longplay
Переглядів 4864 роки тому
This is a blind longplay of Red Faction II using the PC version of the game on Linux Wine. The game seems to run pretty well on Wine and is even optimized for 1080p widescreen, which I was surprised at considering it's from 2001-2002. Although my knowledge about the development of this game is quite limited, I believe it was started by Outrage Games and finished by Volition. Okay, so overall I ...
Quake II (1997) Longplay
Переглядів 4,8 тис.4 роки тому
This is a casual, blind play-through of Quake II on Linux using the Yamagi port. Overall I enjoyed this game about as much as the first one, although I wouldn't rate it quite as highly. For some reason the developers moved away from the lovecraft-horror style of the original game and went for a more grounded approach, complete with a grounded story for how and why things are. Basically it's an ...
Freespace 2 (1999) Longplay
Переглядів 70 тис.5 років тому
WARNING: This video is out of sync on 480p and 720p (Thanks UA-cam for screwing it up!). This is a full longplay (including training missions) of Freespace 2 using the FSOPEN enhanced engine. What can I say? This is one of the best space sims to have ever been made, and to be honest hasn't quite been rivaled since. There are some great games out there in this category, and a lot of other games ...
Descent Freespace - The Great War (1998) Longplay
Переглядів 35 тис.5 років тому
Freespace - The Great War (also known as Descent: Freespace, Conflict: Freespace and FS1) is a game by Volition and published by Interplay in 1998. This was played on Linux using the FSPORT that is supplied with Freespace Open (installed using the handy Knossos tool). This is not a blind through of the game, but I haven't sat down to play the campaign in a good 10~15 years, so it might as well ...
Incoming Forces (2002) Longplay
Переглядів 8 тис.5 років тому
Incoming Forces (2002) is a sequel to the 1998 action-arcade game 'Incoming' from Rage Games. Although it could be said this game is not a direct sequel, it does make references to the first game in the small amounts of ingame dialogue. In this game instead of fighting off an alien invasion, you yourself are an alien fighting off a human lead invasion of your home planets. It isn't entirely cle...
Half-Life (1998) Longplay
Переглядів 3285 років тому
This is a mostly blind play-through of Half-Life using the native Linux build from Steam. I am aware there is an updated version of this game with new textures and assets, but I decided to stick with the tried and true original - or at least the Steam version of it, which has received a few tweaks for compatibility. If only there were more games from this era that received such love! Despite ha...
Red Faction (2001) Longplay
Переглядів 8245 років тому
This is a full play-through of the first (and arguably best) in the series of Red Faction games. Developed by Volition and published by THQ in 2001, Red Faction spawned a series of successful titles and a whole universe in its own right. Played with Pure Faction on Linux Wine, the game works more or less flawlessly but there are some minor issues - subtitles don't seem to display at all and I h...
Unreal: Return to Na Pali (1999) Longplay
Переглядів 9825 років тому
This is a full, blind play-through of Return to Na Pali on Linux Wine. Return to Na Pali is the official expansion to Unreal released in 1999 and is a direct continuation of the 'story' from the original game. For some reason the audio logs do not work properly on my game - some of them play, but a lot of them didn't. I tried to find a work around for this but haven't had any luck. I suppose it...
Incoming (1998) Longplay
Переглядів 71 тис.5 років тому
Incoming is a 1998 arcade-action shooter by Rage Games. This game grew in popularity in the UK (and later elsewhere) as it was shipped with a number of graphic cards and ready-built computers of the time. It was well received by critics for its stunning graphics and fluid gameplay. Two decades have passed since then, and this game is still quite enjoyable to play. Getting it working on Linux wa...
Out-takes: Bajor Mission (Deep Space Nine The Fallen)
Переглядів 1985 років тому
This is the opening mission from Kira's perspective which takes place on Bajor. The remainder of the game is more or less the same, except for some different dialogue and slightly different objectives - but the actual environments are mostly the same except for this and the Bajoren ship on the Sisko playthrough. The Bajor level is the only one interesting enough to include as an extra IMO. Half...
Star Trek Deep Space Nine: The Fallen (2000) Worf Longplay
Переглядів 18 тис.5 років тому
The Fallen is a 3rd person, Unreal-powered game set during Season 6 of DS9 sometime after the Dominion occupation of the station. I'm not entirely sure if it fits into continuity story-wise, but who cares at this point. This was successfully played on Wine, using the D3D renderer. I had to tweak around with the configuration files significantly to get it working in 1080p, but it was worth the e...

Star Trek Elite Force (2000) Longplay
If I watch this video I will have done more with my life than congress has done in 50 years.
Iconic soundtrack
I never freed the guide bot, and I was disgusted by the fact the devs put it in the game. I like to explore the map of my own. The enemy I loved and hated the most was the bandit. I liked to try to make traps for it , with proximity mines.
❤Thanks for playing this and putting it on youtube. Much easier to follow what's happening during missions when you're not busy fighting.
This game was so bad ass for its time!
Who else knows this from star fox advent horizon
I loved this game. I wished they had made a 3rd game. Both endings were sad :( I wish they made games like this
this is my core childhood memory
Man I loved this game
👍👍
👍👍
Just imagine if the invulnerabilities were taken away in this game, then the bosses would be about impossible
It was bundled with some high-end graphics cards back then, shareware probably.
Interplay made so many incredible games, I played them all in my childhood.
It would be so great if you could add commentary to this.. ie the secretes etc.. no one had ever done a proper tut for it.
I like your videos
Must be over 20 years since I last played this. Never could get the Blue Book soundtrack to work though
My uncle had this game and I would always try and stay the night with my cousin To play his dad’s computer together. We would take turns every round
such a classic...was cutting edge graphics at the time. the sound of the quad turret is etched in my brain
The same people who did REBEL MOON should pick this up and make some serious movies.. hella content..
very stupid player
One of my favorite games ever. Interestingly, some aspects, which in other games could be considered flaws, here are actually advantages: 1. No elaborate plot and detailed mission briefings. It gives a great "All hands to battle stations!" feeling. The fact that one phase starts immediately after another and you are being instantly switched between vehicles, gives an idea how desperate, frantic and improvised the Earth's response is (they are basically scrambling everything that shoots). No time for rest! 2. No in-game dialogues and character development - You are soldier and you have job to do. It's no time for chit-chat. The fate of humanity is at stake. Some other thoughts: 3. Quite uncommon thing is that aliens are not portrayed as some all-powerful beings, which can be defeated only with some trick or luck and only after they ravage 90% of the planet. If fact, already in the first act you have the opportunity to pilot an alien fighter and see it's actually inferior to human vehicles. Earth forces are initially overwhelmed but are quickly able to regain the initiative and beat the aliens in a fair fight. 4. The game creates a nice illusion that you are not alone. Sure, friendly units don't do much, but it's nice to know you are part of a bigger thing. I especially liked friendly submarine surfacing to provide fire support in one on North Atlantic missions and attacking enemy mothership with a captured alien craft escorted by 2 Harriers. 5. It's worth to mention that the game has also the strategic phases (not included in this longplay), which play as a (very) simplified RTS. Personally I liked them. 6. The map is much bigger that the area on which you normally operate. You can go sightseeing and find friendly bases. It's useful in the Moon part, in which at some point the landing pad in your main base gets destroyed in a cutscene and you no longer can rearm/repair there. 7. Music is absolutely fantastic! Not sure what genre is this, but it fits great with the whole theme of instant, frantic fight.
2h44minutes 😅 nowdays Games are 10 to 45 minutes
my # 1´s
this game was installed in the high school pc tech lab.. multi player , great for the rainy days
Incoming 1998 was a great game😳
Pentium 200mhz, Gpu Riva TNT 1, 16gb Ram😮
I always wondered who did the voice over. It really sounds like Bruce Boxleitner but it's not. The voice actor really sounds like him though.
What a nice memory. I remember playing this back in 1998
Pardon my asking, but will you do the Revenge o' Dravis expansion pack for this game? A friend of mine was playing it before, including secret levels, but he passed away shortly after he started. I just want to finally see the rest of it. 🙏
Such a great game! I was blown away by the graphics and gameplay. This one and the sequel killed it.
This game is crying out for a like for like remake. Bring it to console and back to PC. I loved playing it, it was truly epic in terms of story, combat, battles, ships. Absolutely stunning
I used to play arcade mode and just try out all the ships.
So this is where Star Fox: Event Horizon came from.
He doesn't let out guide bit 😔
the graphics were insane, i would have thought this game came out in like 2009
Freespace 1 and 2 are still some of the best games ever made.
I need a joystick, cause I still have them. The games and open. Go Hard Lighter's
There was a sequel to "Incoming"?! Nice. I gotta play this.
Oh man- so many EPIC memories just flooding back. I still remember the tension of the sneaking around and scanning mission- and I still remember how epic the ending was seeing that capital ship get cut in half... such an incredible game and story for so long ago.
I randomly picked up Descent (I) at a Goodwill years ago and it blew my mind, and I just got the whole collection at the Steam Summer Sale!
why the hell are you constantly bobbing up and down like that
Best space sim ever created. Waaaay ahead of it's time.
Enemy wing has just arrived! One of my favorite games ever ❤
❤❤
Someone helped me find this Gem. Thank You. I was 10 when this came with our Compaq
Como faço pra baixar essa versão do Descent 2 Vertigo ?? Só tenho a versão normal.
