The Best Roof Top Tent On The Market Right Now
Look, I know! There is a TON of different tents on the market, and nearly just as many styles. Not every tent is going to work for your needs. Traverse Adventure Gear supplies several options depending on your needs. I was initially drawn to Traverse when I saw one of their tents on a friends rig. It was the attention to detail that impressed me. The laser cut logo is what immediately caught my eye. I knew I had to own one. I drove to Washington State to Nevada to meet Brian and install one of his tents. Not that I have over 40 nights in the tent, I think I can confidently say, it's a DANG good tent! My favorite part about the tent, of course being the mattress. It is the most comfortable roof top tent mattress I have ever slept on, and perfectly apt for a side sleeper like me. But, the tent also features a diesel heater port, blackout fabric, gear storage, lighting, a roof rack etc. I love that there are only two buckles to secure and unsecure the tent. You can easily stow a ton of gear in the tent, and it closes without issue!

Moab From Hell || A Nightmare Of A Trip

We were stoked as always as we headed to Moab, our favorite place to take the Jeep! Unfortunately, we encountered battle after battle. Things first took a turn when our sway bar would not disconnect. From there, things just continued to get worse. @GarrettBoldOffroad and his family, Steve, Mike, Mike, Dane, and Aaron were our absolutely lifesavers throughout the entirety of the trip. Not only d...

Hey everyone! If you happened to miss our Olympic Mountain adventure, you would shocked to hear that we slashed one of our tires as soon as we got off-road. We partnered up with GlueTread to make this possible. Utilizing one of their sidewall patched, we repaired the tire and were able to complete the entire 600 mile trip with a patched tire. We never had to repair, or re-patch the tire, and we...

hello~🥰Do you accept sponsor products?
I have this same tent but from 4x4 Colorado; they call it the Alto Mini. Everything you said is right on, darkness, build, etc. For the money I think it's the best option and, picking it up yourself might be the best idea there is to avoid shipping issues from Asia if it were to be delivered to your home.
@@shrades absolutely! And yes. The tents are basically the same!!! The customer service at Traverse is why I went that route. The team is amazing.
@@TaylorGibleroffroad The 4x4 Colorado team is amazing as well. That must be a prerequisite for selling these tents. lol I just dragged my tent all through Colorado (Pueblo to 4 Corners and back) and the tent was a beast. Kudos on your perfect choice. Now to dig into your video library but, before that, you have the stock mattress in? If so, I am curious if you are using down bags/blanket or, what exactly, you are able to store inside when it is closed up. Asking because I had the upgraded mattress and it takes up all the space making it harder to close but giving 4 inches of foam. We stored two sleeping bags, one down camping blanket and two pillows in the truck since they wouldn't fit in the tent w/the upgraded mattress.
Hi Do you interested in adding some LED upgrade to your rig? We hope to do some sponsorship with you!
Looks like a good option for your bug out rig.
Awesome film man love it I live in Oregon and am planning on doing this trip thanks for showcasing it so I know what to expect.
Peeked the shirt too. Clearly a man of taste in more than one fashion. Sick set up.
Your cinematography puts you in the class of feature motion picture professionals. 👍🏼
That is an incredible comment! Thank you so much and I wish I saw this earlier. It's crazy to me the little amount of camera gear we brought on this trip and were able to capture what we got. We have invested so much into my media business that future videos should be even better! I really appreciate you watching!
Could you please do the IDBDR? That is supposed to be the longest BDR, over 1000 Miles to the Canadian Border.
Yup! We’re doing it this year!
I like your videos very much. Especially the BDR's ... good work and keep it up.
What month did you start the CBDR?
Taylor, What an amazing vid! We released a portable Jump starter. Are you interested in giving a review?
It looks really nice
Do you have the GPS route to this location?
7:50 is that Ethan from grind hard plumbing?
What a riveting drama
I had a hand in building that Chevy Colorado and happy it got you through your epic journey. What you filmed is amazing. thank you for sharing.
Oh that’s awesome! Were you part of the new models as well?
@@TaylorGibleroffroad yes I'm in the GM Wentzville plant everyday as an electrician now building them.
You’re making life difficult going through the squeeze in reverse lol
lol. Yup. We ran the 400 mile route backwards so heading home was easier.
Hey I got a Tacoma and I recently broke the axle shaft , how much did it cost to replace and fix that thing on the jeep ?
@@RtGilli I didn’t pay to have it fixed. It’s a super easy repair!
I was all in till 6:30 ‘mudding’ instead of taking the gravel path . This is precisely the wreckless behavior that has already resulted in many trails being shut down for motorized use. You are providing ammunition for people like the Sierra Club to further limit our access to the mountains and forests of the PNW and beyond.
Yeah, maybe you’re right. We certainly recreate responsibly. Pick up everybody’s left behind trash. Donate to the blue ribbon coalition to fight against the Moab shut down. Teach responsible practices, etc. At the time and place, this absolutely appeared like an optional line that we, as well as many others took. Potentially it wasn’t supposed to be used, and if not we regret using it.
Nice, great job on the video.
Thanks! We appreciate it!
“Because lot’s of people roll off onto the highway”. Not remotely true. Create drama for views much? 😂. I do love that trail though.
Eh. No, you’re right. It doesn’t happen often. It does happen though. I almost took it out when I edited it. Certainly not trying to create drama for views though.
Nice video, But ......1,000 hard wheeling miles on that tire?? Tires ain't even broken in until you can't read anything on the sidewall You still had the titties on it and crisp lettering!😁😁
No that tire is hammered and we actually did do 1,000 miles on it. We filmed the entire trip and have an hour long video documenting it. The tread is at about 20%.
@@TaylorGibleroffroad Yea, I actually did see that the tread was pretty worn, just razzin' ya😁 'cause I'm so used to my rock crawling chewing up tires so fast, from bead to bead. I actually was at EJS this year and ran Pritchett, Cliffhanger, Rusty nail, Hells Revenge(3 times!),Moab Rim, Poison Spider, Gold Bar Rim, Where Eagles dare and had a really nice camping trip thru Lockhard Basin. Moab is such an awesome place, Thanks for sharing your trip !
No doubt. I figured you were lol. I have dedicated crawlers that I beat. I actually drive this thing on the road so it’s tough. Thank you for watching man! The patch is really a good product!
New subscriber here! Awesome content. It's always nice when a trip goes as planned, but my best trips have been when things go a little Haywire.... makes for some good stories later on. Thanks for sharing yours!
Thank you so much for the sub! Absolutely. Half my trips go wild lol. As I respond to you, we’re heading back to get the Jeep. Who even knows what’s to come!
I have a Grand Cherokee that the ASR "auto shutdown relay" was giving the jeep absolute fits just enough voltage drop to make the jeep run haywire if at all.
I read some things similar to that. The next video will detail everything! Heading back to Utah to get the Jeep, as I type. Unfortunately, it was whole lot more then just a relay! 😢

Yeaaaaaaaah buddy! Good way to end the work day with a new Taylor upload!
Bro you are so awesome!!!
fun video to watch! just subscribed....hello from Canada!
Hey there! Thank you so much!
Sub’ed back!
We live in the mountains outside of Cashmere, WA. We’re really looking forward to taking on section 3 & 4 of the WA BDR this summer, along with other 4 wheeling roads. There’s a back road from Wenatchee to Ellensburg and from Ellensburg to North Bend. There’s also some great roads up the Blewitt Pass between Ellensburg and Dryden. (Highway 97). Our 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, long bed saw its first dirt last week outside of Leavenworth to Chelan. It was a Blast

I’m going to watch the rest of this. I’m sure it’ll be great footage and I’ll probably end up doing the same trip if I’m fortunate enough. But I must say that the casual and excessive use of words like “explore” and “conquer” by us overlanders when traveling WELL TRODDEN and maintained roads with satellite maps and tons of info ahead of time just doesn’t sit well with me. We’re not exactly James Cameron exploring the deepest part of the ocean or Neil Armstrong or the first Polynesians sailing to Hawai’i. Maybe we can just turn down our grandiose language a notch or two. Your life you do what you want with it, obviously. But there is a comment section and all engagement is good for the channel right? So this is my contribution 🤙🏽
I grew up in the 70s and 80s in the PNW riding along with my family and my brother and I in the back of the1969 CJ5; We explored many of the roads in Eastern Washington and in the Olympic forest. My family is all but passed away now and I only have the memories thanks for the video
Wow! I love CJ’s. I wanted a CJ7 for the longest time. I’ve been really wanting to get one recently, and build it up. The modern rig has too many problems that I can’t easily fix on the trail. I’m researching my options. I had a buddy in high school with a CJ5 and I loved it. We just posted an awesome video of the Olympic variant of a BDR too! Thank you so much for watching!
there is a swing hanging out over a ledge a little over half way through the WABRD. an epic spot where you can swing out into Infinity. I would tell you were it is but that would take away from the adventure.
We live in the mountains 5 miles SW of Cashmere. Nine families live on our private road and all 9 of us own a large part of a mountain between 2 canyons. We’ve made hiking and quad trails on our mountain. If you’re not an owner or have permission from an owner, you’re kindly asked to leave because you’re trespassing. The trail head is less than 100 feet of our front door on a different mountain. It’s truly a beautiful piece of paradise.
Are you saying everyone traveling on the BDR is trespassing?
@@TaylorGibleroffroad Not at all. I would never even think that way. One of them had come across a Yurt and realized that he was on private property. Respectfully he left but had mentioned that he would love to have he and his wife stay there. All I was saying is that our mountain is private property and sadly we have to keep it that way. If we didn’t then we’d have people, like those teenagers tearing up the roads that all of us maintain for our pleasure. We allow hunters to hunt on the mountain. In fact Turkey season is opening up and a friend of mine asked me today if he and a friend could hunt. Of course I gave him permission because I know him and his friend and they won’t tear up our trails. The mountain that the 9 of us own is a different mountain that our house is on. The 2 mountains are in a “L” shape and the trail head on the other mountain is about 150 feet from our front door. I also gave my friend permission to hunt on our personal property as well, which is 54.5 acres and our land buts up to National Forest. My friends and I take advantage of 4 wheeling on Forest Roads and logging roads, but we’ll never knowingly trespass on private land. Some property owners allow us to pass through their land and others don’t. We respect their wishes. I hope this helped clear up any misunderstanding on your part. Enjoy your Evening, Cheers !
Great video!
Thank you!
Great video as always. Anyway to share the track?
Yeah I think so! Email me. Taylorgibler@tmfilms.net and I’ll send it over.

Nice
You are right it is your truck, but there is no reason to destroy it to prove that. Regardless of what Chev tells you, that tuck is not made to do what you did. SAS is a YES from me, not that that matters a bit, but if you upgrade the power an already understrength diff will die quickly with bigger tires and mo power. SAS and trailing control arms and long travel coil overs similar to what OBS Suburbans do will give articulation and strength you are looking for I would bet. Not very Fam with Colorado trucks, but it will be very costly to try and build a truck to do all things. Decide what you really want to do and build to that end. You have a Jeep so you can still get out during the build. Can you imagine a custom frame, mega LS powered almost naked frame version of those racing trucks that jump a hundred feet and land like a butterfly? Bet that would get your blood pumping. Anyway ,good luck, sorry for the slight misadventure. Enjoyed the vid. We are planning to go to Ouray late summer early fall with either the 92 K2500 Sububan Tow Pig or the 89 square body Overlanding V1500 burban. Be safe.
Haha. Yeah. I’m aware that I don’t have to jump the truck. Still don’t regret it though. It would cost about 65k to do it right, and still be a comfortable daily driver. That would include a motor swap and retaining the IFS. Much, much less to go SAS. There is only one company building custom stuff for this truck to make it extremely capable. They are very expensive. The biggest turn off to that is retaining the weak front diff. Have a blast on your trip!
What an absolute monster trip and edit! That soothing voice just kept me wanting more
Hahaha. Thanks brotha!
