How to Replace Brake Line Hose on a Toyota + Air Bleeding
In this video I will replace the damaged front brake flexible hose on my Toyota. Additionally, I will show how to bleed air out of the brake system, which is very important. An air inside of the replaced line will cause the wheel not braking properly. The bleeding procedure is simple, pump the brake pedal and hold it, while loosening the bleeder valve, close valve, pump the pedal again. It took me about ten times to bleed the brake line completely. My vehicle is an 08 Toyota Prius. However, this can be used on most cars and makes.

    Hi mate just came across your video. The sound of the whine when youd sitting inside the car is the exact aound im getting on a cold start and also when driving the car mlre noticable at a higher rev when shifting gears. I just replaced tensioner pulley bearing and both belts but not the tensionee unit itself. Do you know if a worn alternator would make that kind of whining noise towards the very beginning of the video?

    • @skycar2508
      @skycar2508 13 днів тому

      Hi there, I would remove the alternator belt and run the engine without it. If the noise is gone, then the alternator bearing is bad or power steering pump is bad. Also, have you tried putting the transmission in neutral and hearing if the noise is gone? Just to exclude the possible transmission noise.

    • @skycar2508
      @skycar2508 8 місяців тому

      The only way to tighten the bolts to exact torque, is to use a torque wrench. I did just approximate torque.

  • @tomashford2247
    @tomashford2247 8 місяців тому

    Not to criticize, and I think the video was 99% good. However, when you are tightening the lug nuts on the wheel we should all do so in a STAR pattern rather than sequentially. By saying "a star pattern", I mean first tighten one lug to a fairly low torque, then pick a lug across from the first one, then the one next to the first one (which is across from the 2nd) and so on. Go around, increasing torque, 2 or 3 times until reaching the correct torque. This way there will be no run-out, or wobbling of the wheel. Use a torque wrench, if possible. This I learned from a master mechanic.

    • @skycar2508

      Rubber bushings can have some minimal play. The good thing is that you can inspect them visually. If both bushings are not cracked or torn, and the bolts are tightened, then the mount is good. The other mounts can be bad.

    • @Myerp117
      @Myerp117 2 місяці тому

      I also noticed that the bracket that the mount connects to on the engine side has a slide hole (not just a circle, but a cutout that allows back and forth movement of the bolt), but once you get the two bolts on both sides put through, and then torqued down (in that order), there isn't any slack and the bucking sensation has gone away.
