Awesome videos! have a G5 UHF/VHF. I have 2 systems programmed that are P25 trunking. 2 departments near me went P25 conventional and I would like to add them to this radio but can't for the life of me figure out how to do that. I've looked everywhere and can't find how to edit my radio to add these. Would you be able to help me? Thank you for your time sir!

As stated in other comment(s), this video is POOR QUALITY (blurry), and - in MY opinion - this man is not precise enough in his explanations. He is not a good teacher. I have watched several of his videos thru the years, and I always get the same impression. A product as good as the G5 should have better documentation concerning its use.

Can I run the software using Mac OS

Our county uses a P25 800mhz conventional repeater. When the pager is programmed to selective call-p25 conventional it still allows all audio to pass and we can't figure out why. Everything is setup correctly based on this video but all audio is still coming through. Also when the 2 tone is played it doesn't record like it is supposed to.

I found a 5:43 min RR vid that I was able to translate to the new PPS-4.0 so I am now back up and running - Still no idea why it stopped in the first place - it is the same setup - this PPS-4.0 will take some time to find the different why to program going forward - Note - got my 1st scanner in the early 70's on a trip home to Chicago - it was the famed 2004 that could pick up everything back in the day with no restrictions -

I have spent a couple hours trying to view this video by going back over it many times - my eyes cannot focus on the poor-quality graphics this 4.0 vid is - I guess I will need to read the entire User Guide a couple times. - when I bought this pager a couple years ago it was easy to get my local PD and Fire setup and working - I am on the Broward County Fl Multi-Cast System - for reasons yet unknown I have not been able to re-setup Margate to work again - I hate to admit I am thinking the issue is me - The G5 is great but am still kicking myself for buying the TRX-1 (I still have a Gre-500 that was great till P-25II) instead of the SDS100/200 -

PPS 4 seems to be a great step forward, but when I tried to use it a couple of weeks ago it was super buggy and basically useless.

Is there a way to reverse ID SUIDs to find alerts for specific stations if we do not have connection to a dispatch agency or system administrator?

How do I troubleshoot for my alternatives button being unchecked but traffic still comes through and does not alert on the QC2 tones? It works for another system I have in my area but won’t won’t work with identical settings for another. I’m absolutely stumped and frustrated. Any help is much appreciated!!!

Can I scan P25 conventional channels? I'm not seeing that option. My city Police and Fire Dispatch channels are on two different P25 conventional frequencies. I'm not seeing a way to select the protocol in the Normal Scan, Priority Scan, or Silent Scan Receiving modes.

When you copy and pasted to knob 2, you didn't change the tone & vibrate setting. Will it still only tone & vibrate on the page? It will not tone & vibrate on the dispatch channel? And will it prioritize the page channel (override the dispatch channel if a page is initiated)?

Not sure if you will reply, but I have the G4 and cannot get it to connect to PPS. My computer shows it connected but PPS will not detect it. I’ve tried every USB port on my computer and nothing works. I use the cable that came with it and no luck.

Does anybody know how to set up decoding MDC1200 on a vhf analog channel on a G5?

That big, bad, boss 800 system, especially multi-site systems, are quite vulnerable compared to "old legacy VHF" stuff. The old stuff was simple, and it worked. All that aside, I really do wish they made a G6 model, so I can also have UHF. Scanners sometimes just aren't practical to carry EDC.

hi i follow your progamming instrions but my G5 pager still doesn't alert me at all and also i tryed set it up on conventional UHF paging to but on that side i miss some of the page out calls. im sure theres a sitting some where that im missing. do you have any avise. thank you and have a nice day

Can you go more in depth about 2-tone over P25 on a P25 conventional VHF channel?

Do A and B tones work the same on TGIDs as they do on conventional channels? Could I program my pager to only activate on structure tones and ignore all other tones for a P25 system?
