At Screen Culture International Film Festival we come together at the end of the journey that is filmmaking in order to celebrate its creative process. We want artists from all walks of life to enjoy the hard work of independent and student filmmakers, by being captured from their stories through the real, surreal or experimental styles of film practice.
We have separate student categories as we celebrate the films submitted via their various institutions around the world. Student filmmaking is a tough practice and we are honoured to have the chance to interview young artists and pick their brains.

CLONE Trailer - Official Selection - Short Narrative 2023
"CLONE", directed by Ryan M. Kennedy made official selection at Screen Culture Film Festival 2023.

Before starring as Timothy McVeigh in Showtime's 2023 series Waco: The Aftermath, Alex Breaux shares the screen with series lead Kiowa Gordon from AMC's hit show Dark Winds in this award winning indie thriller.
In the future, every U.S. citizen has the right to own one clone of themself. Clones have no rights and can only become citizens if emancipated by their original human.
After 30 years together, Alex suddenly elects to emancipate his clone Richie, but his closest friends begin to question his true intentions.
Director Biography
Ryan M. Kennedy is an American screenwriter and film director. His feature film debut An Act of War was released on March 31, 2015 in North America by Revolver Entertainment and was available to stream on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and countless other platforms. He attended Montclair State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Filmmaking, and is currently working on a Masters Degree from Georgetown University.

Always the best
This isn't the movie. It this one. Sugar Cane Slaves: The Human Cost of Sugar (1995): This documentary, produced by the BBC, investigates the harsh conditions and human rights violations faced by Haitian workers on the Dominican sugar plantations. It also exposes the complicity of the Dominican government and the U.S. sugar industry in perpetuating this system of exploitation. 1 ok. They are hiding it. But you can find it. The scene is right before a commercial break about half way through. You'll know it when you see. It's really horrific, but you'll never forget it. That's all I was doing. You people man.
