Honestly, instead of getting a sword fighter form, you should’ve either been able to transform into an echo, or gain abilities you could equip, such as a wizrobe blast.

I think UMPCs are the future, because this is the 2nd wave of them, they used to be popular in the 2000s too with the Vaio UX and such. If they weren't the future, they would've never returned. Plus, I probably play my GPD Win 4 more than my Switch. (also, the GPD Win and many other gaming UMPCs are available for purchase in most of the world, the Steam Deck isn't the only UMPC, just the most popular one in the US) The gameboy vs game gear comparison you made was terrible too, since it was Tetris that made the original gameboy successful, Pokemon didn't come out in the US until 9 years later, and by then the game gear wasn't even sold.

I grew up with Galaxy, but much prefer Sunshine since I find exploration-based sandbox levels a lot more interesting than linear levels. Galaxy 2 is just kinda disappointing with not even having a hub world, no story, and feeling even more formulaic and predictable than the first one. (probably why I like Sunshine so much, its like the least formulaic Mario game ever, we'll never get something like it again)

I am deep into a lets play, it's on hold for October but we are recording it, while I love the game I will say I have like maybe around 10 total summons that I would say cheese everything. You can easily beat or cheese most anything with a few key summons, my lets play is me playing and my brother doing commentary as he watches, and time after ti,e I solve most anything with a tiny group of only around like 10 things, and it's only a kind of big number like 10 because you need elemental stuff for those kinds of interactions, so I more or less have a few extra uses from that. The rest are the go to things that solve all my other problems.

I have the oled switch, i had some small frame drops here and there but never anything to bad. My wife has just started playing through on her launch day switch, have to see if it performs differently. I think the fire temple in totk was the most traditional zelda dungeon, if you do it all with the mine carts and don't try to skip things in it.

Not for Nintendo. Although they are leading the console pack in terms of creativity, they are always behind in the hardware. This would not apply to them.

I like it but does not change that I want the original formula back, I hate open world it was fun at first but the many collectables, rushed and unfinished game, or horrible story, I am sorry but I liked BOTW at first but hate it now and hated TOTK, the story of TOTK was a ocarina redo, second prime energy what happened to triforce, look I know nintendo hates it's fans and past definitely the past and fans due to online subscription I want to own retro games, and why can I no longer name the protagonist. I hate the erasure of the past because that is what BOTW and TOTK, and this game to a extent, that is what it feels like to me.

i slightly disagree with the idea most echoes have uses. While mostly true, i do stand by the fact some are so far and away better than the rest there is little reason to experiment. It is nowhere near as bad as BotW and TotK, but between flying tile, water block, and crawltula, there is very little that can get in the way of exploration. Equally, any 5+ cost enemy has very few weaknesses as a minion outside of water, while peahats are the best choice for the early game. So, yeah, maybe not quite as much variety as i'd like, but there are still niches the other echoes fill that prevent the game from devolving into "how do i use a fan or rocket to entirely skip this puzzle or shrine?" Water Block? its singular restriction is that it has to be directly connected to some part of the natural terrain, (and is a bit on the slower side for movement), but that doesnt mean much when walls count. If Crawltulas werent the better option for sheer cliff faces, you could climb any cliff with water blocks easily, and they have one major advantage over clouds: ceilings dont get in the way or limit their use. Take any stealth section, build a water column in a corner out of sight until you get above the guards, then swim over the room by hugging the walls to prevent the chain from being severed by new blocks. There are only 2 exceptions to this strat, and it is because you dont have access to water blocks at those times. Heck, it even is effective in combat as an instant kill against most and cuts out the need to scroll through the tedious selector once it becomes your default option for when you dont know what niche you need to fill, though it can be difficult to drag the enemies in if they have projectiles... Flying tile? The king of flying over pits and ignoring strong winds that get in your way. I have no idea why riding a flying tile makes you immune to strong winds, but it does and it trivializes many pits and wind puzzles because of it. I shouldnt even need to explain crawltula: it is the singular way to explore hebra mountain early, as the snowstorm freezes water and nothing else you have at that point can scale the sheer cliffs fast enough to get away with a single smoothie providing a warming effect. As for niches, chompfin is one of the best underwater combat echoes, only next to octorocks for ranged and lizalfos 3 for arenas. Airror is the best glider, and platbooms for quick platforms that can even overcome that one time you need to find a quick way up through a downwards current. I am annoyed lava platforms exist, especially for the cost, but it is the only one that TELEGRAPHS its ability to float on lava. Finally, ignizol is probably the best fire source in the game, especially useful for climbing hebra mountain early and providing heat.

To be fair the water temple kinda IS a "activate the 5 terminals" temple (the 5 switches to make the water jet go higher). But I enjoyed the mountain and forest ones. I also have some nitpicks : - the lock on system can be very unreliable at times, targeting all the random surrounding icecubes before targeting the enemy you want. - I like the idea of echoes for exploring, platforming and puzzle-solving but I thought it wasn't as compelling a system for combat. - I don't know why they couldn't put a "retry" feature in the dojo challenges, you have to exit and go through the whole interaction and challenge selection menu every time.

Finally someone who shares my opinion on this game!! I love this game so much it’s one of my favorite Zelda games ever just pure joy from start to finish.

Characters look to cute and cartoonish for my liking and that grass looks to square making it look almost lego like, gameplay does look very fun and i have only played Zelda Phantom Hourglass

1:20 i'd argue its not perfect, its a good blend, but i don't think it should take priority over other approaches. i think that variety in structure matters more. the next game should be either more linear or less linear, it should never be the same.

Hardware progression is slowing down so we should also slow down the console generations. Makes a lot of sense to me!

The point we're at should make room for anybody who wants to enter the console space with fresh ideas rather than just better graphics

I love this game. Watching gameplay now is so fun, some of your favorite echoes I used a lot too, but I have my own favorites that aren’t on your list. I love how you can be creative and different with solving the puzzles, without completely bypassing things like in TOTK. Also the story is top-notch, loved the characters, and it was so nice to finally play as Zelda.

Im 28. Been realistically gaming since PS1. And have experience with most things since then. Ive had every PS, and Xbox, and a big majority of Nintendo. And honestly i do see this being my last console generation. Im very pleased with what a PS5 can do in terms of hardware. But the games are falling way behind. Xbox is nothing but a media device in my living room. And the Nintendo Switch really has itself figured out. Im hopeful a Switch 2 will release eventually and be completely compatible with Switch games. If so, Nintendo will be the only console standing in 10 more years. Everyone else is going to go to PC. Nintendos biggest downfall is abandoning consoles and making them completely obsolete, i really do hope they keep the switch alive and just give it a hardware upgrade, i will buy a switch 2, but ill definitely never buy another xbox or playstation unless the gaming industry figures itself out. But Pc is looking better each day.

Since windwaker, this is one of my new fave zelda games. Me and my bff love the cuteness and the story is great while having the adventure we love, while also somehow feeling more light and airy which is kinda a nice change from the darker feeling of past game's. I like how they did this game, period. ❤
