People like Mondo Gonzales and Lee Branard don’t know about the incorrect base text. Mondo recently said in a prophecy watchers video on the pre-trib rapture with Lee Branard that he was educated by some jehovahs witnesses that 1st John 5:7 is changed because oldest and best manuscripts say it shouldn’t be there. Mondo and Lee just go along with whatever people say instead of educating themselves.

There was nothing to debate here. Calvin's philosophy has no bearing on the exegesis of the Holy Scriptures in any language. Of course, John Calvin connived at the murder of Michael Servetus, and obstinate Calvinist heretics approve of such homicidal behaviors. Dr. Stringer presented his research into the dubious historicity of the LXX, and his explanation aligns with reliable Biblical scholarship. His edifying presentation is factually correct although it constituted neither a formal argument nor a roundtable discussion to be hijacked by crackpot Alexandrian cultists on social media per se. Popular surveys prove nothing about the incarnation, ministry, death, burial and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ other than what the frequency of a respondent's assertion might be. The opinions of students have no bearing on proven facts or absolute objective truth in and of themselves. Moreover, no authoritative Septuagint can be found anywhere just as the brilliant Francis Turretin demonstrated centuries ago. Does Dr Stringer realize that the King James Translators in the KJB literally state that yhe Apostles used the Septuagint? And also when the Septuagint was written? It says so in the King James Bible!

Brother, I admire your dedication to one translation of the Bible. If you have time, you should check out the book: The King James Only Controversy: Can You Trust Modern Translations? By Dr. James White. It really opened my eyes to God’s Word and why the other translations are different. I really hope you would look at it. It really explains a lot of the differences.

The biggest problem for the KJV is, that many manuscripts that were found in the last 4 centuries could not be considered by Erasmus. Many of the earliest texts concerning certain passages are among them. It has been found that certain verses could not be found in the earliest manuscripts (Matthew 17,21 is one of those, especially the phrase about fasting). If you find several manuscripts that are the earliest that do not contain certain verses, you have to consider what the original autographs were like. Examples for verses missing in the earliest known manuscripts for that passage include well known stories: The woman caught in adultery (John 8,1-11), the verse about an angel moving the water of the pool of Bethesda (John 5,4), the end of the gospel of Mark (Mark 16,9-20) and some more. All these are in the KJV, despite them not being present in the earliest manuscripts.

ESV is basically a New-New RSV. New RSV came out in 1989.

The modern perVersions are a bridge to Babylon. The OT quotations found in the NT are worded by the Holy Spirit. Why go outside the TR for other sources? Also, Turretin forbids using the LXX to "correct" the Masoretic Text. The Holy Spirit used quotations from various works to make a point, but that does not mean He considers the whole of such works to be inspired: only those portions found in the TR.

In the end when all believers goes to meet our Creator and our Lord and Savior, He will ask us which translation of the Bible we used? Is It really very highly most important than sharing the Gospel more? I use to read any translation even though English is not my primary native language. I even use KJV, ESV, NIV, NKJV, MKJV and my native language Filipino Tagalog. As long as I firmly believe God (Trinity) and sharing Gospel to those who does not know God and have Salvation as the Lord's last commandment "Matthew 28:19-20". This is the most problem with Christianity experts its like Calvinism vs Armenianism those will not save you or the God will ask us in the end of our lives in the last days. There are many things very important than what translation we better have to use.

From time to time I find errors in the ESV. Here is an example. 1 Samuel 15:35 "And Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death," Just 4 chapters later there is this in 1 Samuel 19:24 "And he too stripped off his clothes, and he too prophesied before Samuel" Both statements cannot be true.

The KJV argument is foolish because no one could read the original KJV , it had to continuously updated to suit the modern reader. If this is a matter of preference so be it but to say the KJV is superior is not true. I think I remember that God was not happy with a people focused on one language. That did not turn out well.

6:13 - If you're going to accuse the ESV of using "only Son" instead of "only begotten Son", then to be consistent, you're going to have to go after Tyndale's New Testament, the Coverdale Bible 1535 and the Matthew's Bible 1537 as well, since they all say "only Son" in John 3:16 too. He's God's only Son, in the sense that He has no other Son like Jesus, who has His very same nature and essence, like how a human son has the exact same nature as his human father, namely humanity; likewise, Jesus has the same nature as His Father, namely divinity, whereas we don't. Regarding the Greek word "Monogenes" in John 3:16, here's some info about it. According to the Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature (BDAG, 3rd Edition), monogenes has two primary definitions. The first definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind within a specific relationship." This is its meaning in Hebrews 11:17 when the writer refers to Isaac as Abraham’s "only begotten son" (KJV). Abraham had more than one son, but Isaac was the only son he had by Sarah and the only son of the covenant. Therefore, it is the uniqueness of Isaac among the other sons that allows for the use of monogenes in that context. The second definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind or class, unique in kind." This is the meaning that is implied in John 3:16 (see also John 1:14, 18; 3:18; 1 John 4:9).
