Jesus was born in September not December. We need luke 1 to see when He was born. Luke 1:5 Says Zacharias is the course of Abijah 1 chron 24:10 states Abijah is the 8th course. Okay cool, it also says that After his course he returned home. So we know Elizabeth became pregnant when he got home. We do not know exactly how long it took for him to get home, so let us assume 1 day (for arguments sake). Zacharias holds his preistly duties only during the course of abijah. then returns home and Elizabeth becomes pregnant with John the Baptist. Luke 1:36 says that Jesus is concieved 6 months later thus will be born 6 months after John the Baptist. In 70ad during the destruction of the temple, Jehoiarib was the priestly course. You can then track back from Jehoiarib in August 70ad, And in 3bc you come to July for Johns conception due to the course of Abijah. (3bc is a LONG discussion but I can prove Herrod died in 1bc not 4bc as atheists say. I can prove it using Herrod's son because the things he does can only be done in 2-1bc) This is a chart of every priestly course from 70ad destruction of the temple to 4bc. Following this we get July 14th in gregorian calendar (our callenders) for Johns conception... luke 1:57 says Elizabeths FULL time came. Meaning 280 days which is the length of gestation for a woman. It was not short or long, but full. This makes John born on Passover on 2bc and Jesus was Born on Feast of Tabernacles Or late september of2bc. Luke 2:6 says Jesus was born on time as well. 🙂 There you go, Jesus' birth date using Scripture. There is a reason God made holidays for the Jews, they were prophetic. This one prophesied the birth of the messiah 🙂 Jesus was born in september or feast of trumpets 🙂
Amen. Thanks for typing that out. God came to dwell with/tabernacle with man on feast of tabernacles in late September. That being said, December, especially around the 25th is a real good time to glorify Jesus Christ and share the gospel. God bless.
Depends on who you ask. Some claim Jesus was born on Hannukah. Very old Christian Communities do indeed claim Jesus was born on December 25th. It doesn't really matter. The event is what really matters.
Merry Christmas kJBRC!

It may be that these shepherds were low-level Levitical priests, tending sheep for ritual sacrifice in the Temple.
