ASMR Drive: Peugeot 3008 North-South Motorway SA
I have decided to try something new to help add more content on the channel during my busier times. Recording the speedo of the car as I am driving with the sounds of the engine and the ambient sounds to create an automotive themed ASMR drive series. Engine noises and speedos moving calm me down a lot, so I figured it would be worth a try. This was an idea I wanted to do 2 years ago and this is the first video shot in this format back in 2022 but I never went anywhere with it. Enjoy the video.

Uber Carshare is Gone: Where to Now?
Переглядів 2174 місяці тому
Many of my cars were running or being prepared to run on Uber Carshare. Now it has closed down, like many owners, I am faced with the challenge of what to do with my fleet. Many of mine are ineligble for Drivemate or Turo and too undesirable to move on.
A Very Rare Mercedes in Australia: 2005 A200 W169 Manual
Переглядів 2535 місяців тому
I have acquired one of the most unusual and rarest Mercedes-Benzes ever sold in Australia, a 2005 A200 manual. Originally destined for the rental fleet, I decided it was too good so I kept it. It is also one of the most abused cars I have ever bought and it has been brought back to life after being driven to death by its previous owner.

I am back again. I haven't done a video in a while so I thought I would give you something new for a change compared to the diet of jalopies I have been fixing. A 2023 Volkswagen Polo 1.0 85TSI life priced at $32,450 drive away. Is this car worth the money or just too overpriced for consideration

In this video I discuss the repairs needed for my 2015 Fiat 500 1.2 Pop to get it ready for its time on Uber Carshare. I did the coils and plugs on this car myself as well as the air filter. Timing belt/water pump service was completed by Zagame's in Richmond, Victoria. These coils and plug replacements are for any 500 1.2 between 2007 and 2015.

The Megane has burrowed its way into my heart. It might have been a big project and its a Carshare car but it such a charming car to drive and has such a wonderful engine. It's really changed my view on French cars and Diesels and is such a wonderful addition the fleet, even if it needs a bit more TLC.

Should have got conversion done on Cadillac shared platform with Camaro...
Where is the usb?
Getz hasn't got a factory USB port, it would need to be an aftermarket solution either with the head unit or in the arm rest is another potential option
I'd say age and the auto box hampered the 121? I owned a manual '92 bubble 121 from new and it easily did well over the ton
Definitely there is an age and condition factor here as the 121 was an abused example while the 500 has been a well maintained example. The 263,000 hard km and only 3 gears hampered my poor old 121. If it was a 5 speed it would have been on par with the 500. I do want to do another 121 once the car yard is cleared either for sale or rental.
Left hand headlight removal?
Left hand headlight removal?
Thank you Thank you Thank you for your Enlightenment
Do they have immobiliser?
Factory immobiliser on the Getz was standard for Australian consumption.
Couldn’t hear half the video with all the crap in the background
I have a 2009 facelifted version of this car in Kosmos Black Metallic and black leather interior. Yours is a pre-facelift model. The post facelift models we a step up. Not only the leather but better air con, automatic, heated seats....stuff like that. It too has a working sunroof. The trick is to keep everything clean and lubricated. It's only an Automatic though. The car had one previous owner who had it regularly serviced by Mercedes and it came to me with a complete service history, all of the books and sales documentation. It was like buying a new car. The rubbers are all still flexible, the interior is immaculate. It currently has no faults. The paintwork is still immaculate. It's an incredible city car. If you can find one as good, I'd be surprised. As you say, most have been abused and parts are expensive from Mercedes-Benz. It is though, every inch a Mercedes and I will keep mine for as long as I am able.
The later As were definitely better. '09-'11 model year As (mid 2008 on) are a step up in terms of quality and spec (same for the equivalent Bs too as I have found). My one is a March 2005 build 2005 model year car so it is one of the very first ones and in many ways it shows that. '05-'07 model year examples seem to show more faults in terms of trim body and mechanicals. That constellation of faults with switches coming loose, fading screens and sticky sunroofs seem to cover all rough ones of that period that I have seen. You got a good one, there are a few single owner full Mercedes history cars and as long as you look after them, they are spectacularly underrated used buys. Hope you keep enjoying your A.
where can i buy spare parts for mazda demio 121 car, because in indonesia there are no spare parts for this car
Sold on of my cars drive mate is not so good
It is better than W124 for me, but is a lot more complicated to maintain (version with electronic key).
Good to know the pros/cons of the diesel - thanks
Thank you
It must have other rivals from other markets too, if it only took off: -Toyota Innova (with a 4.0 V6 and 265 HP) -Mitsubishi Zinger (with a 3.0 V6 and 200 HP) -Isuzu Crosswind (with a 3.2L 190 HP)
right on
I understand that the W210 is bigger, but the W202 looks like a classic Benz, what I love. You can't love the design of the W210... 🙂
is dodge charger still using this platform
Great video. Thanks for posting. Saved me a trip to the garage and subsequently saved me money, too.
These cars are not worth 10K lol maybe 5K for the cleanest one you could find
Good to know Drive Mate will take 2008+
Hi, I have the same car in silver yes it's a nice car! 😊
This is an absolute top tier autistic car fleet scenario
My mother is considering selling her 2004 manual 4cyl 5 speed BMW E46 3 series if your still in the market for one?
I want to buy a manual 2009 SX and put a pod filter on it and a doof doof in the back
In nz, I bought a manual 2008 1.4L Getz with 100000km on it with hail damage so it looks like a golf ball. cause of the hail damage I picked it up for $1250, and have done 80000km in it so far with zero big bills! been such a great reliable little car and the combination of manual and low power make it super fun around town.
I am going on a road trip in a 2006 Hyundai Getz, its got the original radio. Does the mp3 part of it mean that it will play mp3 audio cds? I don't wanna have to drive for 6 hours in silence.
@ one of the first things I did was replace the factory head unit so I could have Bluetooth. But to my understanding, that would mean it supports mp3 CD. Which is basically just a disc with a bunch of mp3s ripped onto it
@@devlinlynden I'm just borrowing the car so I certainly don't want to change the head unit. I replaced the head unit in my Toyota though. I don't think I've burnt a cd in a long time. Hope it works, then again maybe it has aux. Will see soon.
@ from memory, my one didn’t have an aux but I might be wrong. Also any normal album cd will still work fine if you have any
What about handling I heard the worst and steering like a boat
Handling was good on our K13, there was a bit of understeer but that's expected for a front wheel drive econobox. For our car, the good handling partially had to do with the Continentals put on it. The dead rubber it was on originally really didn't help its cause, a good set of boots would really get the most out of the K13.
Nice video hope your doing well lately. have you had any updates on the diesel serena blown head gasket and the the engine manual i sent you was it any help?
I am going well, sorry for the late response, there have been some issues trying to sort out what has been going on with my rentals (more will be known after Monday). Serena engine wise is done but there are some things that need doing. Need to make more hoses. They seem to have perished. The manual was of help when we needed to strip down another SR20 to save the engine in the Serena, thanks for sending it through.
Loving my Audi A4 B8 2009 1.8 however mine is the CVT variant, I just replaced 3 door lock actuators at $50 each so not to bad if you do it yourself.
is the transmission any better when shifted to sport?
Seemed a bit more responsive in sport more to how I was driving the car.
I'm willing to pay more for something European or Japanese or Korean over buying Chinese for moral and ethical reasons. But yes I agree it is expensive for what it is and us Aussies are getting royally bent over for new car prices post Covid.
We are being properly bent over for pricing. I would buy a European, Japanese or Korean car for the same reasons, but many budget conscious buyers moving out of older, cheaper Polos are looking at price, price, price. I wonder what would happen if someone came in with a completely base car with few options and did a $14,990 driveaway price do to the others?
I agree that $30k is way too much for what it is.. and with the used alternatives out there
Outrageously expensive
No
Very helpful mate - cheers!
I got mine on my profile w202 c230,still looking fresh contacting from South Africa 🇿🇦
Dificult to move steep area goes freely in flat area
I wanted a car as good as one of my all time favourite - the classic mini minor panel van. I got me a 2001 1300 MANUAL Demio and ripped the back seats out straight away. Magnificent vehicle! Cracks 110 kph easily @ 3500 rpm. A perfect update for the 21st century and best of all - FACTORY CASSETTE/CD player. The glory of analogue sound is worth it alone. Get one if you can find one. Make sure it's a manual and you will never be sorry.
Glad to hear you love yours. I am hunting out manual Demios, specifically 2001/02 cars but nothing has come yet. 1300 or 1500 as long as the car is in reasonable condition (unlike the one I had). The auto Demio is too sluggish for me and the input shaft seal issues make doing up one not particularly viable. I can imagine with the sseats down you can get quite a lot in the back.
@@turn6garage640 Honestly haven't even bothered looking at a 1.5 because I am cheap. Mine had 160k on the clock & I had to travel 500 k's to get it, but was gobsmacked when it easily went by 125kph before I eased off - & that was with rear seats. They really are heavy! Only 2 female owners and all country miles with full service history. V.cheap 3 years ago. A long way off 200k still and only issue was an oil seal to the distributor. I got lucky with a mechanic who recognised it quickly. Good luck, there's one out there, just stop praising them. It's our secret. It also sleeps two, full length, comfortably.
Does a 03 outlander have a 4x4 button ? It says it’s 4x4 yet it seems to have no button
There is no button on an '03, it is controlled by the computer. The later generations had selectable 4X4
It is beautiful. What mpg do you get?
Here from my 2010 Kia Rio JB 1.4 petrol. Basically the same car with a ton of interchangeable parts. It's a dream to work on and service. Tons of space and simple design (no direct injection, turbos or intercoolers etc). The only real fix I've had to do is change the clutch slave cylinder due to water ingress under the rubber boot which led to pitting and pressure loss. My only personal gripe I have is the 1.4 g4ee petrol engine isn't the best motorway cruiser. 70mph is around 3200 rpm, a tad noisy.
Definitely looking at adding a JB to the Carshare fleet. Size and practicality plus they seem to be cheaper in manual guise especially than the equivalent Getz. Glad to hear you are liking yours, the Getz also cruised at 100km/h at 3000rpm and it was a bit on the noisy side. Economy was good though even with the noise.
Hi,where is the map sensor located in the 2004 getz 1.3? Thanks
Check the top of the intake manifold. On a SOHC Getz, that's where it is in the diagram. Alternatively, put your VIN into Partsouq or Catcar and the diagram will be there showing its exact location for your car as there were some minor changes mechanically between 2003-2005 model years cars and 2006-on cars (like the one in the video).
That's a pretty good review - accurate , that's important. I had a 2012 Peugeot 308 HDi (2.0L diesel). Top of the range - L/S A/wheels etc etc. Great car. I hammered it. 10 years of trouble free driving. The problems with Peugeot quality were from very late 90's into the early 2000's. Bought the car as an ex Peugeot Australia car. 7000kms on it - $12000 off new price. I took the car to specialist mechanics, both of whom told me to stay with the 2.0L diesel. The best European engine bar none. I decided to buy an SUV late last year (getting older and less agile) so I looked for a Peugeot 3008 diesel. Took me a while but I eventually found a 2022 Peugeot 3008GT HDi (2.0L) diesel - ex demo. They priced out at about $65K approx. I bought mine for $42K - 2022 was the last of the Peugeot diesels. Oh, and I got the 5 year free service and road assistance package. Only thing wrong with it was a scratch on a back wheel arch. We had never driven a Peugeot with the i-cockpit and we were stoked with it. I had read all the English and European reviews and was a bit hesitant about the small steering wheel and the cockpit type inside. It is magic. I am tall and my wife is quite short - no problems finding comfortable driving positions. I found the steering pretty responsive and my wife loves how light it is to use around town. The 2.0L diesel has plenty of power and the 8 sp. auto box is excellent (and yes I do drive it in manual - especially on windy roads). I found the ride excellent. Has Michelin types (a plus) and holds the road well for an SUV. Love the big boot (wife needs the boot size). Mine has a sunroof which I don't use. I have had no mechanical issues (and didn't expect any). I must admit I wouldn't have paid $65k NEW FOR THE CAR, BUT $42k SEEMED A GOOD DEAL TO ME. I haven't had many highway runs yet but around town I get approx 6.6-7.0L/100kms. I expect about 5-5.5L/100kms on the highway. BTW the 1.2 Puretech and the 1.6 petrol & diesel engines are a fraction underpowered. The 2.0L diesel is the way to go. I see a lot of 308's and the older 307's on the road but not many later model 3008's. I've had a few people stop me in the street to ask me about the car. I don't care about looks but everyone I meet seems to like the look of the car. 2nd BTW - Our family has had Peugeots since 1957 and we have travelled well over 10million kms in Peugeots. You can't kill them - they just keep going and most of us are very hard drivers.
Good to hear you are loving yours. There will be more Peugeot content on the channel soon. I am adding one into my Carshare fleet, a 207 1.4 16v (especially rare in Australia). Despite 15 years of abuse (this was one of the not so well made ones) and head gasket issues, it still ran although its getting a full birthday before it goes into the fleet. I need them to run long distance driven by not so careful drivers, so Peugeots are very much on my list.
They replaced my filter then this happened. 😂I fixed myself after watching your video. Thank you.
Bargain! So was it $600 with the fees? Still good buying
$623 including fees. Runs, drives, stops and the a/c works, what more can I ask for the price? Was listed with an engine light, which turned out to be the service light (4000kms overdue from the odo and sticker) and they didn't know the mileage so they sold it as mileage unknown (when all they needed to do was press the button to change info screens). Has 1 key, no books so everything to scare off the average auction buyer was there.
I have a 2006 Outlander thati bought in 2016 when my Cherokee XJ broke down and the garage thought it was terminal (cost £25 to fix when they'd figured it out 😂) £3500 and I'm driving it as my daily car. I love it and it's like new. The best accidental purchase ever !

Can you tell me the name of the tool for remove the plastic of the car?
Interesting . My daughter just brought a 2009 Getz as her first car. Last year I brought a Hyundai Venue as it’s the smallest car Hyundai offers these days.
Cool, but the ride makes too much noise. Maybe use a microphone? Because, the review is interesting.
