Two ways to fix the blooming problem that are currently being worked on is to either break up the beam into ultra-short pulses that pass so fast the atmosphere doesn't have time to heat up and as of writing has been achieved by South Korea. Or alternatively you can take this a step further and use it to create a filament which not only protects your beam from atmospheric interferance but also causes it to self focus which is currently being tested by the US military. Essentially similar to how the electrolaser works but without the electrical discharge.

Ye the flood are zombies but ones that can coordinate and plan out attacks to minimilize losses on both sides for the optimal biomass conversion. Hell I wouldnt be suprised if they deliberately make worlds were they house humans to then reproduce and create even more biomass to be farmed like cattle.

Humanity needs to make gods like the Spartans in halo. They need to abduct new borns or babies that are up to adoption and let the state take them to create super soldiers. I know the Soviets had a small program like that the problem was science was not there yet. Rumor has it china is doing such program. I wonder what is there success of there Tier 0 super soldier. They are highly classified. And no the USA does not SSP any more that was in the Cold War.

Personally i always find it a little silly when they still use regular old guns in the far future. In the Halo universe in particular i felt like the UNSC would've had the technology to arm their troops with coilguns or even laser rifles.

The Halo storyline needs to be completely re-written, starting at Halo 3. Halo 3 has some of the best missions in the campaign, The Storm, The Ark, and The Covenant, but also some of the worst writing outside of the 343i games. It was more than a satisfactory ending for the Halo Trilogy--but the death of Miranda Keyes and Sergeant Johnson crippled the franchise (Miranda, in turn being a replacement for Jacob Keyes). The Ensemble writers for Halo Wars had the sense to plan for Sergeant Forge's return in Halo Wars 2--because they knew the story needed his support as a character to continue, rather than wither and make no progress like the Halo Wars we got. Also, killing off the Brutes and the Prophets in the Limited Extras was to wrap things up.

I've rewatched this video several times, it's so well done and unnerving. The concept of a slow, creeping apocalypse like this really does scare the shit out of me. I listen to this and imagine myself living in Europe or Asia, slowly seeing America and then all of the Americas tear itself apart, then this monstrous force starts popping up on your side of the ocean too. I'd definitely kill myself once it was made clear things are hopeless. I wonder what the last chance humanity had was, maybe when they were trying to contain it in Washington, if all forces of humanity teamed up and stomped on the Flood at once. No way it would actually happen but in a perfect world where humans all become flawless and altruistic.

i mean logically speaking in a universe where the flood exists, that initial spore needs to have come from somewhere. So assuming its the covenants fault it landed on earth in the first place, i think there would be a good chance for the covenant to come knocking (in the sense of glass the flood infected areas.) and if they would arrive post month 10, they would probably recognize, that its already to late and just go for full planetary glassing (since they have an innate distaste for humanity anyway)

Idea: blow the plasma like a smoke ring using magnetic repulsion. It would have to be exponentially faster to stay together due to plasma's instability. We'll work out the EMP it'll probably produce later 😁
