Yeah. Except that it is NOT easy pesy. Mine wouldn't budge even with needle nose pliers. I'll keep looking for a more realistic video because he didn't show that he had to release the clips that hold it in. And he didn't show HOW to release the clips. This guy is just playing games and I will never watch any of his time wasting garbage again.

I googled that part no and found genuine "Mercedes r230 (02-12) Repair Kit for Convertible Top Flap" on Amazon for $66 ! Ordered kit and can't wait to do it. Then I'ma move to next videos and try to adjust top, glue leather trim ...Not sure, how it'll go because here and there some small plastic parts are broken. Thank you so much for big help with repair !!! 🙂

I have a 'burned oil" smell in my sl550. Would this kind of leak get to the exhaust manifold? Any suggestions? There is no oil in the under pans - clean as a whistle.

I have a 2011 SL550, factory exhaust and I don’t want to have it be loud - but deeper and more throaty ! Sound like an x pipe at 2 1/4 and resonator delete and keep the muffler and current stock tips should be the trick ?! The next level is remove stock muffler and add twin tips - ala SL63 for even more sound ?

Great video thanks! I just removed the cap, but a couple of teeth broke off, and I tried my best to see if they were still stuck inside the hole. I fitted the new one but it took some force to install. If there was a small piece stuck inside, is that a problem ?

Thanks to this video and other videos I have just did this myself. It’s much easier if you pop the flap off, and unscrew it from the arm. Put everything back the re attach the flap. However I notice your old part is the upgraded version. Your old part is not from the factory and this was replaced at least once before. Also hope you added some grease inside that “rack and pinion” where you can see the wears

Couple of things you didn't mention. 1) Once you've driven the vehicle or done the rodeo for about 15 minutes to get the hydraulic fluid up to temp, the reservoir needs to be emptied and filled with new fluid once doing this test and kept being filled as the old fluid is emptied into the 5 gallon blue bucket(in your video). 2) Mercedes goes thru 10x 1 liter Pentosin CHF-11S hydraulic fluid for proper flush. 3) Change the 3 micron cartridge filter in the hydraulic fluid reservoir. This procedure must be done every 30k miles. I own the following: 1) 2009 SL550 with AMG package(car only has under 18k miles) 2) Foxwell NT510 Elite scanner tool ($125) that does the rodeo test so no need for an assistant. 3) 20 liters of Pentosin CHF-11S. Got it for $210 thru Amazon which is about $11 per liter.....way way cheaper than $25 or $35 per liter. Good for 2 flushes uses 10 liters per flush.
