🥧 - Another BookTuber I watch (Willow Talks Books) just did a video on House of Leaves. She was not a fan of it either. I read House of Leaves years ago (It took me a few weeks to get through it) and I didn't really get it, which seems to be pretty common.
I love Willow! I need to go watch that. If this time it doesn't work out for me, I won't force it. I didn't try too hard the first time to make it through
Oh my god, I wanna read House of Leaves so bad. It scares me lol. I have had it on my shelves for three years now. I may read it along with you guys. We will see. Loved this. 😉
You've definitely bookclubbed yourself this month. Devolution is a fun read and the true meaning of the book is about the importance of physical media. 😄
Dear Mothman is such a heartfelt read! Hope you love it. Also Amy liked Savage so I have hope that will be mostly enjoyable! Eee great TBR / pop 🎉 🥧 🥧 🥧
house of leaves is a book i pick up every so often. i love it so far at almost halfway through. But i dont rush it. Consuming it in small amounts is perfectly okay, as i feel like i dont forget what has happened previously.
🥧 Kristine, I am so happy you’re reading Devolution! I listened to it on Audio while traveling by train from Seattle to portland. It was the perfect accompaniment. The audio is SUPERBLY acted by some famous folks. I don’t even need the physical copy it was that good!
Awesome video Kritz! Looking forward to our November read. I will try House Of Leaves one day, but only if I find the physical book. I definitely want to read Devolution next year. Layla was a nightmare as a puppy, but we still loved her. 😂🐶 Thank you for the recommendations! 🎃🥧
I’m looking forward to The Night Parade! I have high hopes for next months Laymie. Amy said she really liked it! I’m curious to see how you end up feeling about House of Leaves… 👀 I’m going to try and get to Devolution for cryptid readathon and Kat’s book club. Your hair looks great 🔥🥧
Thanks! Seems like quite a few of us are reading Devolution this month. I hope I end up liking house of leaves....but I def. will not force it if I am hating it
I'm yet to read a Richard Laymon book. I just don't know if I can do it🤣 Our House of Leaves journey begins today. I hope we're ready! I'm reading at least one cryptid book for the November readathon. I chose co-host Jason White's new book Attack on Sasquatch Valley. I'm not sure if I'll get to any other cryptid books because of how intensely I'll have to focus on House of Leaves. You have a busy - but great - November planned. Happy reading!
I don't think you would be into Laymon tbh. There are very few I've enjoyed myself. Is there a place we are chatting about house of leaves as we go along?
Read-Along with Literary Love 123!! I'm excited about that, especially since I loved the book. Looking forward to your takes on it. I hope you have as positive an experience with it as I did, though I did take quite a bit longer than a month to read it. I'm happy you are prepared to take your time. And, Max Brooks! Yay. I should read more from him. I'll wait and hear your take on it. Happy November!
I’m also going to be out of my comfort zone. I had devolution on my Everand, and for some reason it says I reached my limit for the month when it’s only the third? I have no idea how that works
Ok I’ve actually seen a couple of Richard Laymon Ranking videos with Savage being #1. I think it tends to be a favorite among Laymon fans. MAYBE I’ll read along 😂 I know I always say that but I am the mood reading king who never commits to anything :) Yes, you can say it, I have commitment issues 😂

I'm really nervous now after watching Willow's House of Leaves video. She had a lot to say about it for sure!

People seem to love or hate it....so I won't try to force it if I'm not feeling it. I do think I should give it another shot though.
Join us! We can get through it together.
I sure will. Lol

I didn't realize how much I had committed to until I put it all together for this video. whoops!
Dear Mothman is such a heartfelt read! Hope you love it. Also Amy liked Savage so I have hope that will be mostly enjoyable! Eee great TBR / pop 🎉 🥧 🥧 🥧
I just started dear mothman and I'm already fighting back tears

That's how I will approach it. Bits at a time so I don't burn out. good plan!

ooh, thanks for letting me know! It is on Everand, so I'll be listening to it while I drive around the PNW!

sprocket isn't really a puppy anymore (she's almost 5), but I still call her that. I hope house of leaves is a positive experience this time!

Devolution is a fun one! Hope you have a fun month.
I've already started dear mothman and it has me holding back the tears!

I plan on taking it slowwww. What Max Brooks novels have you read? This will be my first time
@@Kritz_Reads I've only read World War Z, which was excellent. More of a short story experience than a novel experience, but I thought it was great.
Devolution was so boring for me 😂 I hope you enjoy it though! 🥧🥧🥧
I was thinking of reading Devolution as well! I'm def going out of my comfort zone for Nov
I’m also going to be out of my comfort zone. I had devolution on my Everand, and for some reason it says I reached my limit for the month when it’s only the third? I have no idea how that works
@Kritz_Reads it would be interesting to know how they decide when you're limit has been reached 🤔
@@kellyhookedonbooks4394 especially since i've only listened to one book this month, and I actually started it in Oct....so wtf?

Yes, you can say it, I have commitment issues 😂
hahaa, that is a good way to be! I'm always struggling with commitment vs mood. I bet you can get it on KU in color on your new device though 😁
We Came To Welcome You sounds great!
Right? I'm so intrigued!
I joined the discord now to get the book 🥧
yay! I'm so glad you are joining us this month!
