    Thanks for the video! Our dryer was making a really loud whining noise, so I followed this video to disassemble it. Wheels, belt, and pulley were all fine, but there were some socks that got sucked into the blower because someone forgot to replace the lint filter before running it. Nothing better than a free repair!!

    Have you done an updated version for digital controls? My Whirlpool has power to it, but even the display will not turn on. Have not yet looked at wiring but assume the thermal overload is downstream of the display.

    First of all, thank you for this video. It really helped me get started on fixing my dryer. In my opinion, you stop too early. In the video, you stop at the point where you say something about having a bad motor. In my case, I took the back off the dryer, removed the motor/vent cover on the left and found hundreds of mesquite pods siting in the fan part of the motor which was ceasing it up. Removed the mesquite pods and the dryer works perfectly. Some "rodents" apparently felt like that was a good place to hide their stash. People, don't give up where this video ends, remove the left protruding panel (behind the back panel) and check to see if something is binding up the motor. I probably wouldn't have checked had I not fortuitously seen a FB posting of someone finding a sock in their motor fan. Don't give up!

    Save yourself the trouble and time, this works and is easier: open the door, turn the dryer on and off 10 times in a row quickly as possible you will start to hear the click of the switching between on and off, then hold the power button for 30 seconds. It works everytime. I did it last year and this year works easy

    • @theappliancedudes
      @theappliancedudes 14 днів тому

      @@NatashaRemee hey Natasha, possibly could for a quick fix, however, this is most likely causing significant wear and tear on the door switch as well as the door itself. Best to just replace the control board and not have these issues anymore! I appreciate the comment

    Please be aware that it is essential to disconnect the fuse's one wire to ensure continuity. The wires themselves can lead to a false positive result.

    I have a bravo dryer and the lint light is on and won’t start. Do you think it is the thermal switch? I did unhook it and tape the two Leeds together, but the light is still on.

    Lowes installers said "swapping the door is NOT advisable since the door seals don't really work after that"; something about the alignment of the door to body of refrigerators. Is that TRUE??

    • @theappliancedudes

    This was a very I donation video however my issue ended up being the female part of the door latch part that holds the door outer door in place when closed was stuck in closed position so the door when not even shut all of the way would continue the dryer spin. Hope that made sense.

  • @mels8966
    @mels8966 Місяць тому

    There was no gunk or smells in my front load washer when I tore it down to replace the bearings after 10 years of use despite being heavy handed with the fabric softener. Which I put down to leaving the door and draw open and using washing powder which has oxygen bleach in it, and I do most washing at 40°C. Plus I do an annual descale with anhydrous citric acid at 90C. Oxygen bleach kills bacteria, mould and viruses in the wash, which helps keep the machine clean in spite of using fabric softener which promotes bacteria and mould growth. I've only had a smelly machine in the 1990 when we switched to using liquid detergent for a couple of years.
