    I been saying a lot of this for a while now. ididn'tt agree with everything but quite the majority. We definitely need more competition...i I would prefer the Android6dof variety, and I am hopeful we are done rehashing hardware. Android6dof is the obvious option as a standard, and the reasons should be obvious after wut the Quest series has demonstrated. Like you... im disappointed that Pico is faltering, but i still haven't counted them out, yet...and am still hopeful for others, like the Pimax Portal. Ppl still dont see the potential of Android6dofVR. They are only recently beginning to see the potential of Quest like devices. I predicted quest before it even had a codename...i saw wireless, PCVR via Quest coming b4 virtual desktop...i knew PSVR2 wouldnt have AAA games because Sony dont understand the differences between development on flat screens vs VR. These corparations are missing easy shots...but there are also many misinformed consumers. The majority of VR content creators are just rehashing the same content and reviewing the same games. From reading your comments after watching this vid...there is definitely a niche in VR gmaers/enthusiasts thats been under represented. There are already unspoken standards for VR games that are yet to be realized...Everything we need exists...it just hasnt been put together, yet...there are plenty, proof of concepts for any and every kind of software u can imagine. Vr is a great platform for gaming, but it can be so much more...its an engine of empathy, not yet realized...but for now, we can keep talking about games...until some1 sees the unlimited application of wut this technology can really do...I had to subscribe and I look forward to more of your content on VR. 🧘🏿‍♂️

    I’ve been in VR since 2017 and I absolutely love it. I can no longer play flatscreen games because I feel like that guy from make love not Warcraft with the pizza box is just sitting there pressing buttons. When I’m in VR, I am actively moving my body constantly, and I am surrounded an immersed. I also have the Bobo VR headset that makes my quest three very comfortable. I spend anywhere from 4 to 8 hours a day in VR. I can’t stand sitting and looking at a screen using a game controller. I like the fact that I can modify my quest. It’s a lot like the Apple iPhone where you get it one way and then you add the case and accessories that you like. I don’t think that Meta could make something that would be perfect for everyone. And if they did, it would have to increase the price. Yes it is about the dopamine need. I am currently playing Medieval Dynasty and I’m still playing Zenith and I’m thinking about jumping into Alysia! Most of all, I’m having a lot of really good social experiences .

    Great take on VR. I think games need to be HYBRID games like Resident Evil 7 was on PS5. We should have the option to play in VR or not. I don't get motion sick so I'm good with every VR game I've played so far. Just give people the option to play in VR or not.

    Unreal injector vr mod is the vision i have for vr to go mainstream. Mainstream flat devs could implement VR elements to thier games and can add Immersive features for the VR gamers. I was hoping PSVR would show something like this but it failed. PC VR has shown how a flat Game in Unreal engine can work and gives a new level of immersion that can also allow flexibility to play in or out of the headset. (But it is janky to find unreal games supported)

    This was some really good perspective, I honestly had no idea that there are people who can play VR for years and never get over motion sickness, that is rough. Just out of curiosity, are there certain types of games that sit better with you? Like, does teleportation help? Also 100% agree about graphics. I just played through the VR version of scanner sombre and it was probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen in VR. I really feel like if you have a good style, you can have a killer game regardless of graphics.

    What the VR industry needs is actual QA testing from casual users, not enthusiasts. Most of the time, when a VR title wants you to press A, a first time user isn't gonna know which button to press, because they *literally cannot see the buttons on their controllers* unless the end user lifts up their headset to see the buttons on their controllers. Half-Life Alyx at least addresses it by showing the player's controllers and highlighting the button they need to press for certain actions. Other times when it comes to VR titles, they feel like direct ports for consoles. Most actions are performed by hovering your hand over an object, then pressing a button to do said action, instead of _physically_ performing the action, which I would argue takes away from the experience and raises the question of "why would I need to play this in VR?" Price is still a huge issue, when looking at the Steam Hardware Survey, _majority_ of the headsets used are Quest headsets. Why? It's because the Quest is a full package that's under $1000. Other/majority of SteamVR headsets are still in it's full price, and that's not including the _other additional accessories required_, such as lighthouses/basestations, and controllers. The skepticism in me is wondering why the Index,--7 year old headset--is _still_ $1000 when I can get an all-in-one package Quest 3 for half that price; it's more attractive to the end user to buy the cheaper product that does more than the competition. What's also the main issue is having to deal with the enthusiast community who swear by using a 7 year headset, or a $1000 headset with too many drawbacks, against the Quest platform because of the "Meta bad, Valve good" mindset. It honestly feels too similar to the Linux community recommending Linux to a Windows user when the Windows user experiences a minor issue. Glasses are a huge issue too, since I would have to rely on another company to send me prescription lenses because I'm too scared to accidentally scratch my glasses and my headset's lenses. A glasses-focused design would help tremendously. Coming from a "casual enthusiast," the VR space _needs_ serious innovation for software first, and hardware second. I like to think about the saying "what good can a 4090 perform, if the software is grossly unoptimized?" I could go more on my nerd rant, but I think you get the idea. Excellent video nonetheless!

    • @gaminggroundz792
      @gaminggroundz792 3 місяці тому

      I agree with you 100% on everything. I think games like gorilla tag, VR chat, and Rec room shows that the most simple of games gain the most traction. They had quite a few casual users with the Quest 2, but a lot fell off because its hard to keep the casual user around. Yeah i've played a few games that seem like they were an after thought when it came to interacting with things within the game along with the direction of the game. I wonder what would make companies truly invest?

    Until Headset manufactures start designing their products with varifocal lenses in mind there is still gonna be uncomfortably for the mass amount of people. Using Varifocal technology will greatly increase both immersion & comfort. Humbly waiting to get back into VR when someone releases a headset with OLED+140FOV+VERIFOCAL!

    • @gaminggroundz792
      @gaminggroundz792 3 місяці тому

      See i didnt know this. Are there any headsets currently with these lenses? All i ever hear people talking about are pancake lenses.

    • @ianmatthews276
      @ianmatthews276 3 місяці тому

      @@gaminggroundz792 no, not at the moment. Pancake lenses help with edge to edge clarity which is what you see with the quest 3. But their drawback is that they greatly reduce the amount of light that can get through, which is why you see LCD panels being used with them and not so much OLED until they start double or triple stacking them. The verifocal part refers to a type of lens that can dynamically adjust the focal lengths, so that it’s no longer a fixed focal length when you’re looking through the lenses, but you would be able to focus just how you do in real life which greatly increases comfort. You need OLED because of the infinite contrast ratio, which gives you even more depth and vibrancy, but you also need the edge to edge clarity of a pancake lens while also needing the verifocal lens technology so that the eye can do what it normally does and comfort can be increased dramatically. Also having a FOV greater than 140 would increase immersion as well.

    Try a fan for motion sickness . Only way to force it to not happen is repetition and conditioning. You are still very new to this , and are missing massive amounts of information in order to have a informed opinion. Best way to not sound silly is to only work with known information and don’t assume anything . Guessing doesn’t help anything in VR Here is an example of what I mean . Competition is NOT a thing in VR , people like to pretend like there is … but it would be moronic . Any negativity in VR effects ALL of VR so they would rather that all VR does well . They are blatantly working together otherwise Sony wouldn’t be getting any ports , apple wouldn’t be using Sony lenses, and meta sure as hell would not be letting other companies use their operating system . Once we hit mass adoption competition will make sense ,but for now they ALL are just trying to break through to mainstream first . Over half the library needs to be noob friendly until we hit that mark as well . Need to look at the bigger picture if you want to have an informed opinion over merely your personal opinion.

    • @gaminggroundz792
      @gaminggroundz792 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for the insight but I have tried that along with medication as well. What I mentioned in my video is known info. There are people that do get motion sickness from gaming. I even mentioned not everyone gets sick from motion sickness so I’m not sure what part you felt I sounded “silly” on. Not to mention I have been playing in VR for about 5 years now so the “new to this” assumption isnt valid.

      @@gaminggroundz792the way your talking about VR you sound like you just got in to me . Conditioning against motion sickness IS a thing but as far as sounding silly …… Dude , most of this is your personal opinion but not taking into account the reality of things . Thinking competition is a thing in VR is just one thing that sounds silly . Most people look at things from a personal standpoint and confuse facts and opinions , but it is more of an issue in VR because it causes mass confusion . Your whole thing here is talking about VR from a competition standpoint ….. sooo the whole thing is silly lol

    • @gaminggroundz792
      @gaminggroundz792 3 місяці тому

      @GhostShot-mk9tq of course this is my personal opinion that is literally what I stated at the beginning of the video not to mention why I created a channel in the first place. I don’t make content to agree with the masses just cause - everything has competition even VR. Apple competes with google in the phone space, Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo compete in the console space this is indeed fact. If you feel this sounds silly then I can’t help you, but every business wants to improve to draw in a crowd that will support and that requires them to out perform the competition simple and plain.

    • @GhostShot-mk9tq
      @GhostShot-mk9tq 3 місяці тому

      @@gaminggroundz792 lol … VR is a “ failing tech “ they are choosing to force it regardless of the ignorance and stupidity of humanity . Only way to do that is over-saturating the market and ignoring all negativity . They cannot really compete as it would be completely counterproductive to all of their goals . They are blatantly working together and people act like it’s not happening and like they are racing to be the ONE company that leads VR ……….. No one “ leads VR “ if we don’t hit mass adoption , it HAS to happen FIRST before they can even think about competition . That’s not an opinion , that is a informed statement. You can have an opinion but just don’t state it like it is fact . China is about to get a quest release . There are over a billion people in China and some might even like tech lol . If we sell to 1/10 of the population that is 100 million . Could significantly change the momentum of things . NOT an opinion . Here is an opinion . I think VR needs more AAA games ……. I want that “ blow job alarm clock “ but that doesn’t mean it is a real thing or anyone is working toward it . I WANT many things to happen with VR … and there is a place for that , but if you are talking about the real future of VR , what you personally want is irrelevant and what is actually going on is the only information that matters.

    so far, from my cousin PS5 PSVR2, Im getting one at end of April, was amazing the haptics and features gives u more than immersion but the specs and horse power by using PS5 what really took the cake. Im sad I can play for hours (I have vertigo so cant be too long in gaming anymore) but its amazing, affordable (especially in PCVR headsets, no Im not counting Oculus Quest 2 because using mobile power making the fidelty so low res and funky in some games, I blame the devs not the headset). And I find funny I see reviews be like "But require PS5 to play which is $499.99/3.99 alone" ok? So u wont bring up needing a PC, u need for PCVR? Which, if u build one, need at least $800-1000 (or order one to be build which is a extra fee of $500-ish or more) and thats for older oculus and HTC headsets. and the headsets for PCVR are like 750-1499.98 u dish x500 more and the specs from the software release are ok but not more up to date. I still use Oculus Rift S for PCVR and still love it but shows the haptic in PSVR2 and features came a long way. I enjoy both but Imma support PSVR2 if doesnt get Vita treatment, which I doubt.

    I like a good talk about facts. Unfortunately we'll be back here again with what ever quality Nintendo releases because both the industry and "gamers" won't give them the pass when they deserve it. The perceived value have games have dramatically changed over the years. We used to have bundles of games before during the pre-32bit era, then we had the introduction of Platinum labels where games sold really well, they'd re-release on a budget label to entice new sales, but already by then, pirating was rife with CD based consoles and it's easy to argue that the demise of the Dreamcast, outside of many other factors, was also hugely in part to people not wanting to pay for official games when they could easily get copied ones. Since then, people will make what ever excuses they want in terms of purchasing or not purchasing official console games. There's just too many marketing factors that has lead the industry to this moment where a quality game like Metroid would be judged in this way, both in price and presentation and I see no way out of it. Great talk man.

    I'm all for the concept, as long as they actually put some effort behind it and don't abandon it in a short while.

      If they abandon this one they mind as well just focus on console gaming, cause that would be a big expense hit.

    Very interesting and I do agree on most points. Sony has been burned too many times to go with another portable in MY opinion. Also with the way both Sony and Microsoft are pushing 4k and ray tracing, there is no way you will get that in a portable device that uses a battery. Obviously if it docked it could have a bigger power draw and reach higher fidelity. If Sony released a portable that played all PS5 games can you imagine how big and costly that would be?? The STEAM DECK will be able to run games at over 60fps but that portable screen is only a 60hz screen I believe, so the higher frame rates would come while docked.... again. Sorry to go on for so long. In the end I don't believe either of the other big 2 have plans for some kind of hybrid system. Keep up the awesome work fam.

    Hardware has always been an important part of gaming as we know it, but I have always felt that it's been the interface, the way you connect to the games which has been the most important driving and defining factor which will take games to the next level. I always dreamed of VR being that next step, where it's almost Tron like level of interactivity, but we're miles away from that still. But things have changed for sure and now it's not so much single hardware, but more where you can play your game and continue your game no matter where you access it. If that's the case, Microsoft have been on this road for a while now where you can access their library of games as well as your games across a wealth of platforms, whilst also not being fixed by the controller you use. I'm still a firm believer that hardware is needed, especially with a unique input that can drive changes in game design, but in regards to the games, for the most part, i think we're heading into the realms of being able to play our games any where and any how we like. Great discussion man.

    When I first saw the Switch, I immediately said that others should follow. The Switch has the ultimate factor of CONVENIENCE which is what consoles are made for.

    That dock is definitely going to have to come with at least one controller for it to work out. Valve could also slip in all of their games as a bonus for people purchasing the complete set if they don't already have them.

      Yeah im aware of those but im talking about digital cards for hardware. They have them for the quest 2 and some keyboards, so i wonder if they would do it for the steam deck

    The gaming media are the agents of the western game industry. Western 3rd parties never liked Nintendo and that helps fuels that hate towards Nintendo. Think about it: the narrative is always framed from a Playstation or Xbox point of view. "Playstation and Xbox has achievements, party chat, etc! Argh why doesn't Nintendo do that". That's the narrative that is fueled by gaming journalists, and then repeated by their viewers or readers. And as a result no one never asks why does everyone want these consoles from the Big 3 to be the same?
