It absolutely is such a fun cover. When I got on this kick and discovered that book, it was an instant favorite of his. The pose, her expression, everything about it is so good.

Thanks for watching and commenting! You are correct, Hughes is a beast. I absolutely consume everything he does. Love his style so much. I do love his Zatanna covers. So beautiful. Unfortunately, I don't currently own any of them and it will cost a pretty penny to acquire them these days. They are on the list, but I will have to spread out those purchases. That's great that you are working on his Catwoman run. I only have a couple issues left to go myself. The big one being issue #51. Haven't read the Invisible Woman series yet, but looking forward to it. I'll have to look for his signature on Superman #4. His signature is usually pretty obvious, but I have come across a bunch of books where he has hidden it very well.

Nope, unfortunately he only did the covers for the Invisible Woman mini series. An artist by the name of Mattia De Iulis did the interior artwork.

I was digging through some back issue bins at a local comic shop this week and saw some other DC Vampires books. Apparently, this isn't the first time for this title. I will have to go back and buy them to give them a read.

For sure. I'm sure it has a lot to do with how much more money they can make from the card/gaming products versus comics. Smarter business move. In their old location on Lexington and Larpentuer it was definitely more comics in my opinion. Still a great store regardless and worth checking out.

Yah the shelf situation is a little weird. I prefer a lot of the other shops in MN.

For me, I want to get a copy of Catwoman #51 and his Zatanna run of covers. But those are all pretty spendy, at least for me. :)

@MinnesotaComicGeek-if2vn I have entire runs of everything he's done. Lately I've been collecting signed and graded books by Adam and those definitely get up there in price. Do you have the 2nd print red color variant of Batgirl 1? I think I prefer it to the original 🤔

That's really cool that you have full runs of everything he's done. Definitely a serious Hughes fan! I'm working my way towards that. :) Do you only buy his comics, or have you bought other stuff he has done artwork for like magazines, prints or his con sketchbooks? Oh man yeah, those signed books go for a pretty penny, especially if they are graded versions. Some of the asking prices on signed and graded books on ebay are insane. Good luck my friend! I haven't sought out the 2nd and 3rd print color variant of Batgirl 1, only because I want the 1st printing version more. I'm not above buying 2nd, 3rd, etc printing variants, but they aren't a huge desire to own for me.

I would like to have the Barb Wire covers that Adam Hughes did, I think they are absolutely fantastic, particularly the one were Barb Wire has a baseball bat on her shoulders and some yellow neon signs on the background. And also a Dirty Pair cover that he did would be really awesome to have.

It's always better when Adam does a cover for a book that I enjoy looking at and reading as well. I would definitely prefer the original single issues over the TPB, but that is just me. :)

Very much so! Those books have some outstanding artwork by Adam Hughes. His rendition of Zatanna is stunningly beautiful. They aren't cheap books so I will have to space out the purchases. :)

Oh, I already had most of his Barb Wire run. I bought those when they were originally released back in the day. Except for some reason issues 6 & 8. Maybe I missed them on their release day, or they are somewhere lost in my collection. So, I have to get those 2 issues to complete that run. Those Barb Wire books are great Adam Hughe covers.

This particular seller was not a random person selling. They were a professional comic shop enterprise with 10's of thousands of sales. That is why I expected more from them. Random "garage sale" type of sellers that I have bought comics from have been a far superior level. You can get excellent condition comics on ebay. I know, because I have gotten a lot of great condition comics on ebay. It requires that the seller is operating in good faith, providing an accurate description and providing plenty of quality photos for the buyer to gauge the accurate condition of the comics.

Yeah, it is an artbook featuring their artwork. Terry and Rachel Dodson have been a long time husband and wife pencils and inking creative team.

That's too bad that you are dealing with the similar situation. The intentional or unintentional misrepresenting the condition of the books is unfortunate because it just ends up wasting time and money on the seller's side since Ebay allows for full refunds. I am with you about being as accurate with descriptions. Do your best to describe the condition of the books and let the buyer make an informed decision. Then there isn't disappointment when the books arrive.

Sure. To me that is a less compelling story than if the protagonists believe they have hope to overcome an enemy.

Nimrod doesn’t just adapt to mutants but powersets in general. Im not a big fan of Nimrod because there’s no way to stop the sentinels when he’s active. He’s a boring character

Yeah, that is one example that just doesn't make sense to me given the rules of the X-Men universe.

Sure. From a storytelling threat, I much prefer them to be a slow zombie horde type of threat versus a near omnipotent god like machine that can defeat any powerset thrown at it. The former is much more compelling as a reader.

Yes, the old school original sentinels are weak. That's why they required mass numbers to be sent at mutants. I much prefer those stories.
