Great guys who help this little buddy to recover and walk again. The results are incredible. I am a dachshund owner and I hope my little Elliot will not suffer back problems. I say it again : what a wonderful family you have been for this little darling. Love from France. ❤

How did JP experience his recovery when it looked like he had no use of his back legs? Also, did you have to express his bladder? How would he move his bowels? What a dedicated bunch of people. It's amazing how much love our pets inspire. ❣
My heart...
Excellent video! My dog had FCE and was knuckling and dragging and I used a sling to help her walk, grounding her legs/feet and supportive standing to eat/drink, etc. I put my finger in the paw pads of her bad leg and she started to get reflexive response. I also did range of motion exercises to her bad leg which was very stiff in extension. She also developed wound to top of her bad paw from dragging that i treated with dressing changes 2x/day. She was treated with IV steriods at vet in beginning. She is walking and running and doing everything again after a few months. Her one leg is still visibly weaker but 100% functional, although I don't let her up on high bed/jumping from anything too high because I think she maybe jumped down from bed when i was at work at thats what caused the whole thing. I am so happy with her recovery. She has a new lease on life, and our work together towards her recovery made our bond stronger than ever! I pray for anyone who has to go through this! It can get better!!!
My 11 yo Pekingese-Maltese-poodle mutt lost the strength in his legs 1 week ago. The vet says IVD bulging / herniation. He originally was very weak in the hind legs and was unable to consistently place the left rear paw correctly on the ground, like a human foot drop, so he would place the paw top side down and try to stand like that. The foot was bent under him. I will disagree with your slide stating that if you see this sign it means nerves will not regenerate. You are mistakenly taking hope from people although you obviously have wonderful intentions. As a chiropractic orthopedist I can tell you a sign like this can be temporary. In one week he clearly has more strength in the dorsiflexors of his paw because he is bringing the paw up as he swings the leg forward which he could not do previously. It will be a long recovery. Thank you for your information as this is truly sad when it happens to both the dog and his owners.
i wish all vets were as helpful my vet basically took my money performed the surgery and then disappeared… no help with after care or rehab or anything… im hoping my baby will grow his nerves back so he can walk again. im trying rehab at home but i wish i had professional help. but alas, im glad there are good and helpful vets out there making sure these angels get the best treatments for the best recovery possible
Any update on your pet??
🥰🥰🥰🥰
I’m glad that he’s walking again 👍 but how much did the owners spend on treatments and therapy ? 😅 I assuming a lot of money
2 of my dogs (bichon frise) had experience this, your videos are so helpful. How long should they stay on strict cage rest?
For Gods sake turn that bloody music off!
Can anyone suggest where to get Sticky Pawz, ToeGrips, gel nails or PawFriction in the UK, preferably without using Amazon?
What supplements did you use?
Are you able to feel hip dysplasia when they walk?
Hi so if my baby is knuckling he won’t ever regain use again??? Because he seems pretty strong and he has jumped to his paws and fell over but he is determined? I can’t afford the surgery yet but where there is a will there is away that’s why he has a UA-cam page can u please like subscribe and share so he can to have the surgery and life he deserves it’s called barking for boy boy thank u and I hope ur baby is still making progress and live the best pup life ever
What did all that cost?
How often acupuncture was given?
,, +-
Was the cat given any painkillers or medicine during the treatment? Our cat has a similar limping issue and seems to be in pain, eating and drinking less. Painkillers help improve mood but is there anything else that may help?
❤
Way to go! The determination & love the owners had to all things possible! 😭😭🥺🙏🏽
This makes me cry - my dog has grade 2 and now I am crate resting but I will do my best to rehabilitate her - I have to do it myself as I can’t afford to get professional help
how is your baby?
Praise God JP is walking so so happy for him
This gives me hope! Thank you!

@@Raquel-cq2jf Wow! What did you employ through your journey
@@Raquel-cq2jfcan i ask what steps you took? i tried the acupuncture therapy with no results
@@omeometeotl i did range of motion exercises like what was shown in the video every day, i performed daily massages on her legs to try to help her get sensation back, and i bought a dog sling for hind leg support to use while trying to get her used to walking again..a combo of all three of those worked like a charm!! i wish you the best of luck
My dog has IVDD at the moments and its been 4 weeks (almost). He was on Pain meds, along with some steroids and anti-inflammation meds. Now, he is still not able to stand himself but whenever we pinch his toes(back), he throws back his legs just like trying to stop us from doing that. Is that a good sign to recovery? What shall we do extra in order to get him on his feet yet again? Thank you so much in advance🙏🏻
Please try to find a local vet or physical rehab therapist that can offer the various treatments (acupuncture, physiotherapy, medications etc) for your dog. He or she will prescribe a home physio plan with the different physio exercises that you can do at home. It is a positive sign that he is reacting so strongly when you pinch the toes.
Hi, My dog just recently diagnosed with IVDD and it progressed so fast that all of his 4 legs become paralyzed. I live in Indonesia where theres no MRI yet for dog so its making the surgeon cant operate him yet. Since he cant walk or even lift his head up, he can’t control his bladder and poop, so theres also another problem with his organ. Its been overwhelming, I cry most of the time. Hoping theres another way until we can find a way to operate on him 🥲

@@almakerr7 first thank u for responding ,sir i am from India and i think we don't have such dedicated facility in my area ,,if u could help in any other way that would be great.thanks once again.
@@oldsongs1847 We have videos of some of the home physio exercises here on our You Tube channel - range or motion or bicycling exercises, flexor withdrawal exercises (pinching of the toes) and assisted standing exercises.
The problem I have is I can’t really tell how hip dysplasia looks unless it is severe.
In mild cases, there is often bunny hopping (where both hindlegs move together), a slight swaying of the hindend, slowness to rise and maybe difficulty jumping or climbing stairs. If it is unilateral, the muscles of the affected leg may be "thinner" when compared to the other (non-affected) leg.
Wow, JP's owners love is incalculable.
I have a cat with the exact same paralysis but here we don't have this devices and veterinary doctors they told me there is no hope without even touching him but he still have very high senses he still feel his leg i don't know what to do please give me any advice

Thanks for your reply. thank God the cat is running again
This is an awesome video, Gemma always had a smile on her face and you love to see that. However, I am a bit confused as to what exactly the treatment was? We saw her practicing walking and you mentioned accupuncture... whilst I am hugely skeptical of the latter, there was other therapy mentioned but only briefly. What was the main treatment?
My dog has Ivdd and is probably a grade 4 because we know she can still feel pain, what is the cost to do physical rehabilitation and lazer etc? And do a lot of vets offer this?
My 3 year old dog just suffered FCE yesterday, and will be using this as a template. It is just in one hind leg, and she seems to have a little control and feeling. Belgian Shepard, and people are always commenting how fast and graceful she is. I'm afraid she'll never be the same, but she'll be happy and loved no matter what
Thank you. I didn't know the exercises were so important early . I think mines a stage 4. Hes at 2.5 weeks I started more physio this week and bought a laser I've been using. Just not sure if my exercise ball i already have I've been using is too big and I've been frightened to put him on the treadmill, even at speed 1 but I think I'll get someone to help me and possibly try tomorrow. About how long would you reccomend physio exercises per day ? Especially since their supposed to be on crate rest, never know how much to do.
We normally advise home physio exercises 4-6 times per day. The secret to success is small amounts as often as possible every day.
What stage was Jp's case? I am so happy seeing walking again!
JP was initially Grade 4.
did JP go through surgery as well or did they just do all the therapy's and rehabilitation's? @@almakerr7

Great job 👏
Our 1 yr old golden rottie has been having a noticeable limp on her right back leg after playing at the dog park for around 3 months . I don’t know if it’s because she fell off our couch while playing and landed on her side on our wooden floor ( and hopefully will get better with time) or something more permanent 😥 I remember thinking her walk was odd as a puppy though because she really exaggerated her hip movements (but I never payed attention with any other dog so could have been normal)
Where the clinic please send me your contact number
Poor dog I'm glad Hes up and walking now and treatment got be careful with my own doxipoo Hes 9 years old Hes been lucky so far but got to stay carful just incase probly more more bed and couch hops soon.. and hop if he does get it to catch it early enough to not have paralysis. Will still love him regardless :) Hope jp had an awesome life since then
Is this IVDD? She also had head tremors. My vet said it was stomach cancer. ua-cam.com/video/9wOmuquYngs/v-deo.html
I am 2 weeks post surgery 5 disks removed. He was a stage 5 . Now flexing legs and can feel stimulus.
My sweet 8 year old chihuahua is struggling very much like this sweet baby. We are trying for a conservative approach since surgery is out of our budget. Currently doing lots of rest, anti inflammatory meds, pain meds, and steroids. Is there anything I should specifically ask my vet about? What kind of veterinary offices do acupuncture and physical therapy? We are so in love with our sweet boy 🐕 and are willing to put in the work to help him have the best life possible. Thanks for any advice!
Hi Alexandria, we wish your baby healing. Please ask your vet for the details of the nearest practice who offers acupuncture and physical rehabilitation so the treatment can be started as soon as possible.
Ty. This gives me hope
Great work you're doing 👏
Thank you very much Jason for your kind words.
