    Question about the call light from what I’m understanding in other videos you can touch it even if you haven’t washed your hands like you did on skill but than I read on the book you can touch the call light having gloves on ? I’m so confused

      Hello, If Prometric requires the use of gloves, there will be a step to put the gloves on. For the dressing a client with a weak arm, GLOVES ARE NOT required.

      Hello, It does not matter which side of the bed you stand on. The evaluator will NOT grade you by where you stand.

    Hello Dr. Lee is a back rub required when doing a partial bath? Also is soap required when washing behind the ears and neck? I was taught differently in class just want to make sure.

      Hello, Prometric REQUIRES a back rub with the modified bath skill. Prometric required the FACE to be rinsed. No soap on the face. The ears are not required to be washed.

    I’m taking my test in two weeks so I want to know in foot care do I have to leave patient foot in water for 5 min or just pretend?

      Hello, Prometric requires that the foot be placed in the basin of water. Prometric does not state how long to keep the foot in the water. There is no mention of a 5 minute soak.

      You can just say you will wash your hands AFTER physically washing the hands with soap and water during the FIRST skill.

    Good afternoon, after we finish range of motion do we go wash our hands, then return to give them call light etc. and then wash hands again? Or are we suppose to finish range of motion and immediately give them call light etc, then exit to wash hands and tell them you are done with skill? Please advise

      Hello Sidney, for the ROM skill you can give the client the call light immediately after performing the skill.

    Good afternoon, When is the correct time to give the evaluator the documentation form. Do we hand it to them immediately after we document, before we wash hands and tell them we are done or do we leave it on the table? Thank you.

      Hello Sidney, The student can always start over if the person has not said I am through with the skill and there is still time left to complete the skill.

    Good afternoon Dr. Lee I understand we are not allowed to tell the patient we are taking respirations. Is it better to not tell them what you are doing or to tell them you are taking vital signs? Please advise. Thanks!

      Hello Sidney, The state gives us three options of what to tell the client for the respiration skill. a: you can say I am taking your respirations b: you can say I am taking your pulse c: you can say I am taking your vital signs The student picks which one he/she would like to say for the exam

    Hello Dr. Lee, I am studying for my upcoming test. You mentioned in the video that we only perform the nail care on one hand. Are we only required to perform nail care on one hand for our exam or is this just for the video? I also noticed that you only did one foot for the foot care in a previous video as well. Do we only have to do one hand for nail care and one foot for foot care? Please advise. Thank you!

      Hello Sidney, Yes, you are correct. The student is only required to do ONE hand or ONE foot for the state exam.

    You didn't use an orange stick or file, and it clearly states in the training manual that you have to use them to pass the test.

      Hello, The state does NOT require the use of an orange stick or file for FOOT care. If you see that as a requirement, please post the step number for FOOT care. Again, the use of an orange stick or an emory board is NOT REQUIRED for foot care.

    At the school I went to in Dallas, we could not call the garment protector a bib because they said bibs are for minors, and it could be embarrassing for our residents if staff referred to such as a bib in front of other residents. So to call it a garment protector would be more like for me.
