I bought a kit online to repair my Stressless leather chair. Followed all the steps and it looked great when finished but the repairs did not last long. The color touchup paint was water soluble and had a clear coat that was also water soluble. It rubbed off in the wear areas. think an oil based product would last longer.

Spray painting leather is a sh-- repair. The only lasting repair is true upholstery repair, where the damaged fabric or leather panel is cut out and replaced. The junk is this video is nothing more than lipstick on a pig.

I used to work at a Volvo dealership and they had a guy come in every couple weeks and he had a full on mobile repair/body shop all in a well equipped truck to spruce up the used acquisitions. He'd paint bumpers, and fix leather, he'd pull out dents, repair plastics, it was amazing hat he could do. By the time the customer saw it they had no idea half of what they were seeing were touch ups, paint overs, and repairs. They think, what a well take care of car, never thinking, how would a used car have no nicks or chips on the front of the bumper, they see what they want to see. It wasn't underhanded, but it was spit shine,. and that guy made mad cash too, cause he was that good.

What's the durability on this fix/restoration? I have similar damage on my drivers seat, and that's one of the most used areas when getting in or out of the car.

this repair wont last, in a few months, the cracks will form again and paint will get scuffed or flake out. if you want to repair this kind of damage, might as well do it right and re-upholster the leather. This is just like a band-aid solution to quickly sell the car.

I wanted to ask about the Product "Geist Leather Conditioner" If the product is easily absorbed From the skin and if the finish is matt.

As nice as it looks, the proof of quality is how long it lasts. What’s the warrantee on this repair? Or is it just a way to put a temporary facelift on a vehicle to sell it to an unsuspecting buyer, who will discover it in a month when it starts failing?

Temporary fix. Paint will rub off, lol.
