I kind of like the idea of repair. Even if it is not always cheaper than getting a newer car. One of the true ways to make a difference in our waste and sustainability problem.

I am totally new to this but wanted to ask a question about it; Once you have done a restoration like that, how long would the restoration itself be expected to last? I assume that all the previous damage remains a 'weak spot', but after how long would it start to reappear (to a greater or lesser extent)?

Ram, i love Geist, i have the 3 minus kit and it keeps my leather steering wheel cover clean soft and supple, it also works great in keeping my leather wallet clean and supple too! Great stuff!

How long would a repair like this old up? Will the paint tear off faster then the original leather? Would it be unwise to only repair a small part and risk get 2 different tones?

So apply the dye and then any imperfections apply a little filler then sand back again with SOLVENT? DISSOLVE which for some miraculous reason does not effect the new dye by breaking it down and pulling it off..... SOLVENT ??.... REALLY?? what are you not telling us solvent sniffers or are you marketing that water to make a extra buck..... lmfao....

In my early 20's I owned a small business specializing in leather/vinyl repair. It's a very rewarding industry, both financially and visually. I loved walking up to a vehicle with destroyed leather seats and say to myself, "I can fix that". The sad reality is for both myself and the unwitting persons who bought those vehicles, was the product only last for a few months at best before the dye's and repair product started deteriorating. After several years I began to feel like I was operating a "scamming" business, knowing full well that every single car that I "repaired" would soon be back to its original state. The only repairs that were permanent were carpet dye and even then, if it's a red stain, it would eventually begin to bleed back through.. I'm now 48, on my third business (sold the other two) and love what I do for a living... I'm sure the automotive repair industry is still alive and thriving, I only hope the products of today hold up better than they did 20+ years ago.. Great video btw.

The paint and primer used on leather are just any paint and primer? Or leather suitable primer and paint must be used?

I wonder how it looks like now after years of use. Since i dont believe it will be durable...

There s only a problem: you filled half of the holes of the seat's structure applying the new paint... So now half are still visible and half not and this Is not a perfect repair on my point of view
