Here we have an album recorded I'm guessing around 1970 by the children's choir at the time of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Bayside, New York. The narration brings to life the cycle of the Church year through words and music beginning fittingly with the Christmas birth. Pastor at the time was Rev. Martin F.Tully (1967-1976).

The soundtrack has some issues at times which are easy to over look when you get lost in the fun and the sound is actually quite good. Ralph closes the show with a rousing big band number. Here we have Stage Show with The Dorseys, June Taylor Dancers and guests Joey Adams, Al Kelly, Roberta Sherwood, and dancer Lou Wills Jr. Tommy mentions April 7 but I can't find any mention of this line up on the IMDB list. Here we have a fabulous PBS episode hosted by Rocky Rockwell from 2002 celebrating the Lawrence Welk Show's then 50th Anniversary on television going back to the local KTLA days. Rocky's career is celebrated as well. To add to the celebration we're treated to another gem from the B&W era, January 25, 1958. Excellent video and audio.

Here we have a show that's been on YT presented here in outstanding quality. It's the Mother's Day show from May 12, 1956 one of the few PBS shows going back into the B&W era. Mary Lou hosts. With no guest interview the rest of the time is filled with preview clips. I've seen this on YT but not with the excellent quality we have here thanks to PBS again one the few B&Ws in the rotation. Mary Lou hosts and interviews Big Tiny. She just mentions from 1958 and research tells me it's from January 4, 1958. A fun segment is when Lawrence invites ladies in the audience to dance with him and later with Buddy Merrill. Look out. ha,ha

Here we have an episode of the Frankie Laine Show with Connie Haines from 1954. He announces Connie's number will be up after the commercial but it appears to be missing. She does sing with him later. The guests are the amazing jugglers The Three Houcs. Wow!

Here we have the show from August 2, 1958 from New York City this time with commercials and mostly intact. Unfortunately due to film damage we pick up the show just as the Lennons are finishing their song. From then on it's complete to the end with excellent video and audio. To point out how durable Dodges are we get to see a Dodge shot out of a cannon. Wow!

IMDB says this is from May 12, 1956 and Irving Berlin's birthday just passed on May 11. A little darker than I would like but excellent audio. Worth checking out.

Back from a concert tour in Florida Liberace pays tribute to them here. Liberace got to bring music his way, classical and popular, to a mass audience on his show aided by a superb production team. His genial and playful demeanor connected him to his audience and the show was a big success. He went along with the numerous jokes about him and to detractors he smiled all the way to the bank.
