- Here we have a show that's been on YT presented here in outstanding quality. It's the Mother's Day show from May 12, 1956 one of the few PBS shows going back into the B&W era. Mary Lou hosts. With no guest interview the rest of the time is filled with preview clips. A highlight is the entire band dances with mothers from the audience with music provided by Lawrence on the organ. ha,ha A fun episode you can watch full screen.
First time I’ve heard Lawrence play anything else but his accordion. Personally, I think he plays the organ better! Thanks for the upload
Glad you like it.
Isn't it great to see these shows again. Such great music.
Takes me back to a better time in life. Just having it on the tellie brings comfort.
What a fun episode! Haven't seen this one before...I missed so much good stuff! Thanks for uploading this and helping to preserve this great show!
You're welcome. Glad you like.
Thanks for the upload
Would you happen to have the 50th Anniversary special from January 25, 1958 with Rocky Rockwell hosting on PBS?
Yes I do have it and from All Arts so the quality is excellent. If it checks out a good B&W to put up soon.
@@kenqwe04 Do you have Nov. 21, 1959? Someone posted an AI enhanced version a while back but has since deleted it. Never managed to contact them for the original version. Had a few songs I really liked.
@@kenqwe04 awesome thanks, and thank you for posting your welk shows they are so much fun to watch.
@@lennonsistersmusic9780 Yes I see I have the 1959 Thanksgiving Show but it's a little far in the future for what I'm doing now. A lot of changes made by that time. No more Alice for example. Eventually yes. Check out the Lawrence Welk LPs channel.
@@kenqwe04 Ok good to know, look forward to whenever you do post it. I have looked through Lawrence Welk LP but unfortunately, they don't have it unless I've overlooked it.
If it's not too much to ask, could you share it through google drive or email? My email is on my channel description. I wouldn't post the whole episode of course, only interested in the clip of Dianne Lennon and Larry Dean. Thank you very much if you do, if not no worries.
Lawrence Welk single-handedly killed Big-Band music, with his corny, white-washed versions of songs that had -- up until then -- been popular with the masses. What a joke...
Total horse shit.
You name says it all! Dumbell!
@@robertbeacham4314 Wow, that was original. Clever too. sigh...
