Lawrence Welk 1950s January 25, 1958

Here we have a fabulous PBS episode hosted by Rocky Rockwell from 2002 celebrating the Lawrence Welk Show's then 50th Anniversary on television going back to the local KTLA days. Rocky's career is celebrated as well. To add to the celebration we're treated to another gem from the B&W era, January 25, 1958. Excellent video and audio.

1/25/1958 was my birthday. I believe during the late 50s, the Welk show was simulcast on ABC Television and ABC Radio.

So who was better, Big Tiny Little or Joanne Castle? I lean to Joanne as she had the ability to play to the Camera. It was like she was looking straight at you through the TV. Liberace had the same ability
