Raccoons fell through ceiling in a house
They are damaging my fking yard and i cant do nothing about it and may cost me 1000dollars per turtle to relocate them thats bsss
How is it damaging your yard?
@TheTrapperGuy got holes all over and burrows and dirt above the ground
I don't know how often you check the messages/comments on here but does the same thing apply if the snake is in your crawl space? Got one in my crawl space.. think it's a king snake
If it is in your crawlspace best thing to do is wire off all openings but one and make a one way door that goes out. You can also do glue traps...but if crawlspace is still open you can never be sure snake you catch is the only one.
Thanks!!

I have no problem with snakes but wearing gumboots currently in the house due to a 4ft red belly black snake that climbs
Hi. have you stopped making videos? The reason I'm asking is that I was hunting on my lease 3 weeks ago and on the property is a pile of a busted up concrete slab. I happened to walk up to this pile and heard the distinct sound of a rattle. First I thought it was a pigmy due to the low volume of the rattle, so I started stepping back as I scanned the ground for the small snake. As I was walking backward and turnig my head back and forth my good ear (left ear) picked up the sound to my right and thats when I saw it. About 15 ft away was the absolute largest diamond back rattler I've ever seen coiled up under a palmetto frawn. Normally I would catch it, but this one was huge and had me a little on the cautious side. I wasn't gonna try to catch it. So I began to record it with my phone, as I was recording and attention focussed on this snake and movingto my right to try and get a better video of it. Something caught my eye to my right and I looked down by my foot, I almost jumped out of my skin as another diamond back was cruising by my foot headed directly to the big snake I was filming. This snake was 4-5 ft long, significantly smaller than the other. It went straight to the other snake and down a hole into the pie of concrete. The larger snake stopped rattling, tuned and folled the other into the pile. This had to be a den. Then I noticed 2 more snugged up under another palmetto just feet away from where the snake went into the pile.
I am in central florida just a few miles down hwy 60 east of tampa.
@@c-bread4204 I have plans to start making videos again. With the cold fronts we have had the past month that pile of concrete may be an ideal spot to get away from the cold. Winter is a good time to see EDBs because they will come out to warm up in the sun during cold days. They are usually pretty sluggish when cold. I have caught some EDBs in cold weather that never even rattle. I handle the ones in my previous videos but all other I catch for customers are with hook and bucket without ever getting close.
Don't they carry Leprosy? Especially the Nine-banded breed?
Very rare. Not to mention most humans have immunity. I use hand sanitizer. Best policy is to not handle any wildlife.
That in no way helps me ger rid of the racoon in my attic...
yesterday I was walking in my favorite New Zealand bush walk, it has been super windy the last 4 days, I had my small dog with me, he and the parent birds alerted me to these 3 baby birds, first I had to get dogo away, not that he was hurting them, more interested, I though the best thing was to let the parent birds deal with this as I could not find the nest, and I have been sitting worrying about these chicks, and a thought came to mind, dose anyone make temporary nests, something you could clip to the tree and pop the birds in? and if not why don't I invent this idea, any ideas out there?🤔😊🐣🐤🐥
Great video
Thanks!
How tasty
Poor opposum😭
worth watching just for the banjo
Possums are immune to rabbies
Resistant but not immune.
You best have let him go
rabies doesnt become contagious till the disease reaches the brain and damages it, when it wrecks the brain than it sheds into the animals body into the blood and saliva. if possums have different metabolism or the nervous system has lots of shorter nerve cells it might take so long for the virus to reach the possums brain the possum may die of a more natural death instead.
Just had 2 hatch out here from my closest burrow. First week of November. The turtles were very active right before the hatch

I'm a cat person .. I take the food dishes and water dishes inside every night and the raccoons just sit at the door .... This video don't help ....
If the raccoons ate there in the past it will take a while for the behavior to change. Wash down the area where the bowls were every time you pick up bowls. Smell from bits on ground will keep them coming.
@TheTrapperGuy the place the cat eats at is cleaned but the big issues are when I have to outside at night I get chased back inside by raccoons running at me I haul butt back inside so they sit at the door hang off the screen door .... I washed everything down with dawn dish soap but I get chased back inside the house the raccoons are like a year or 2 in age .. when then see they either run wanting to attack or maybe the raccoons think I'm mom or want to play .. but it's scary when ya gotta run from them ... I thought raccoons run from people and not chase people !!!
@@cheryl3505 You need to call a trapper.
At least leave water out.
We had something run across our roof last week sometime. It sounded like it was being chased by something, I have some peanuts out for the squirrels on our railings. 2 days ago we found a Opossum that we believe was the one on the roof because he looked skinny and beat up. So now every night, he comes by and eats peanuts.
Check to roof and house for openings,
Do they jump 🦘 up out the garbage can because Ummm I ain't trying to play with the @#### thing with barnacles of babies it's smelling like nervous sweat musk and I want to give it ray bans
Not good jumpers. Just tip can over.
I have a possum that comes on my back porch at night to eat my cat food so I guess I won't be petting her anytime soon❤😊
They aren't very aggressive...but they can bite.
@TheTrapperGuy I guess I'll just keep admiring her from a distance then😊😍
Very informative about possums thank you❤

Raccoons are sweet lovable critters. Many of them are already feral and a lot less wild than some people think. Raccoons that climb cranes and skyscrapers or ride subway trains are truly no longer "wild."
Some raccoons came to my house on Thursday night before the hurricane hit. They knew I guess and needed extra food. I was just going out for fresh air around 1am and a raccoon literally came up to me and looked like he was asking for food so I went back in and got some dry cat food and water and brought them out. A few raccoons took turns on that and then I went in and brought them two eggs each and they ate the eggs too. They seemed satisfied and left after that but they sort of hung out near me a bit before I went in. I walk slowly and predictably when around raccoons and I walk to the same spot on my lawn while they’re at and I do stretches and stuff so they know where I am and feel safe. For past few years during winter two raccoons usually show up a few times asking for food, might have been the same two with other friends his time. I’m expecting them back tonight since the storm is over but we had a lot of trees fall and some I wasn’t able to clean up yet so hey might be a bit spooked by the changes I’m not sure. I think it’s cool when wild animals understand they can ask humans for food, I sort of think it must speed up their evolution because if you think about it it is basically a form of communication between us so they are learning like hey we can actually communicate with humans and understand each other! It’s interesting anyway. I don’t try to pet them or hand feed them but I could if I wanted to, once they see I’ve got food they seem to relax but I have to admit that I get a bit on edge feeling if I crouch down and hone approaches me, it’s hard to tell what their intentions are as I have trouble seeing in the dark so it’s just like a vague raccoon shape approaching etc, I can’t read their body language in the head and face so I tend to stand up and scare them off a bit, they probably just want to sniff and say thanks idk but I don’t wanna have to go get shots if they bite me. I’m not afraid of the possibility of fighting raccoons though, lol, pretty sure I could destroy em bare handed but I’m also pretty sure they know I’m not someone to just attack without reason either. Sadly a few years back I fed a feral cat who was really nice and polite just fetal so you couldn’t touch him etc but he was friends with my cats, anyway one day he showed up with a massive gash in his head most likely from a raccoon fight, but not positive about that, and he was all freaked out and extremely scared of everything then. He stopped coming round soon after so I assume he died, it seems like a sad end to his life as he was a nice friendly gentle cat, he wasn’t covered head to toe in scabs from fighting other cats like past feral cats I’ve befriended, so he must have had a decent life and to die that way all afraid of everything etc is really sad. Before him a feral black cat would let me pet him and no kidding he had scabs on evey bit of his skin eveywhere all you felt was scabs when you touched him, covered in fleas too and had an eye disease or something causing lots of gunk. I was even able to give him eye drops at one point. He was an interesting character in the coldest nights I’d see him sprawled on middle of the lawn dead to the world in a deep sleep, it’s like he didn’t feel cold and just abandoned his body for a bit and thought nothing of it. Prety tough atttitude if you think about it! I guess they just accept it and don’t even challenge it. They get cold, sleep, or pass out and if they wake up they wake up, if they don’t they don’t.
Take the car sound effect away … I almost had a wreck while driving …. Good grief man
Good advice. Just a note on the video though: the music in the background is VERY distracting. it's just too loud.
My newer videos I toned down the music. Lol
I feed the skunks... and now have a raccoon that comes it just walked into my house 😂
Thank you, this is so educational for novices and newcomers alike. Even though I'm a FL native, I live in a large metropolis and seldom see them. I'd put the critter in a pond that it was nearby, but immediately removed it when I saw it struggling, and then took it to a grassy area. I learned a great lesson that day.
Your welcome!
@@TheTrapperGuyappreciate it again ❤️🐢
Yeah they are not water turtle you almost killed it by drowning it
@nelutu-d9g yes almost. It would have been heartbreaking. The good news is that I didn't leave and knew something was wrong. So two things happened that day. 1. I rescued a turtle, and 2. I learned a new thing without it having to be detrimental.
