I wanted to be neither male nor female. And I still consider myself to be none of that. It goes against nature, surely, but sexual hormones ravage your body and above all your mind. Not everyone can stand that metamorphosis. I lived my life like a mule carries its burden, face down, shoulders down, and a permanent fog in the brain. Realizing, year after year, that my life amounted to nothing I could really fit in. And all those things you cannot say to anyone. I understand your pain. Take care. Love.

<3 I know this video is a year old, but keep speaking your truth. I applaud you and your bravery in sharing your story. I'm 61 and had I been able to transition at the age of 12-18, I would have done so. I'm so glad I didn't.

I really don’t get much of what’s being said. It’s like you live on another parallel universe. All I’ve heard is that it’s irreversible, dangerous, or untested. I literally can’t imagine someone having such an idealized version in their head of transition. I literally only could see transition as a path for the sad and dejected of the world. Forever doomed to be “one in between,” never being regarded as fully one or the other. I still wanted to travel down that path nonetheless. My experiences feel like an antithesis to your experiences. I only got happier the closer I got to getting HRT. It’s honestly unnerving to know that people could have unwavering belief in anything.

I'm FTM and I'm glad you brought up the subject of detransition! Personally, I've had therapy before transitionning medically AND been put on blockers to think more about it. Gender dysphoria is hard to deal with but in the long run, I'm glad double checked. Some people ive known detransitioned, and thats okay. They were discovering themselves. Im just glad they didnt start the treatments and regret it. Ive now been on T for 3 years and im glad to say ive made the right choice. Its a big decision to take, therapy is needed to make sure its the right one

It's very scary to see ppl take great steps to change their body just to wake up one day and you can't come back fully. Plus you're very beautiful and you sound like a very smart person. Thank you very much for sharing your experience. That takes a lot of courage! I am delighted to see that you now have a loyal support group who have no prejudices and accept and love you no matter how you view and feel about yourself. (The chickens and the cat--don't underestimate them, they are very intelligent and perceptive!) I can see that medical care providers are being taught incorrectly about basic life issues and psychology. ALWAYS, underlying issues should be investigated and thoroughly and appropriately addressed first. Those who either attempt to either force their own viewpoints on you or reject you for unfounded reasons NEVER have your best interests at heart. It's all about THEM, for whatever reasons. You have made much progress toward understanding your true self, which is actually the journey of a lifetime for everyone, whether they realize it or not. I think you make some very valid points. Honestly, life in general is difficult, and some of us will continue to feel differently about who we are and our sexuality at different points in our lives. I feel it is likely that were I growing up today, I might have transitioned to male, but I am so grateful I didn't because I wouldn't have my son. When I was a young woman, I put very little value on becoming a mother, but it's been the greatest joy of my life.

Hitting puberty around 8 or 9 sounds crazy & would seem to lead to some problems. The girls in my generation were not going through puberty that young.
