Got this for free via Epic Games and finally decided to try it only to get supremely frustrated because I could barely score a basket even on Rookie difficulty. It's sad how trash this game is especially when I think back to how much fun I've had with basketball games way older than this.

It's trippy watching this video after 6/7 years cause this was the first video i ever saw of yours when i was trying to find a reviewer who wasnt glazing tf out of this game. It got to a point where i thought i was crazy feeling the way i did at the time. This video was (and still is) entertaining, imformative and cathartic. i was the 600th sub cause of this video and stayed as one now you have 4.4k subs. Its also very sad (in a sense) that this rant ages like fine wine each year. Most of these flaws STILL EXISTS even in old AND current gen for NBA2K25... unreal.

me personally, i think the problem with these sports games is they either bought the rights to the sport exclusively or they just have no competition. this leads to them knowing they can just do the bare minimum or just not do anything because they know it’ll sell. i can’t comment on anything other than madden or 2k but for those games i think we need nba live back and we need madden to either not have rights at all or not outright have the full rights to theirselves. a lot of these games tho have me thinking the devs have never played the sport in their life.

Hry. Ok, forgive the uneducated reponse. Im a big 2k fan, it being the only real basketball game out there, so it's only competing with itself, But I've spent some time lately looking at several UA-camrs, game play and reviews so i hope i get this right. I played PS 3. Only and 2k 11 and 2k 14. Both great. I loved the Jordan challenge, the specific dribble and dubk controls in 2k 11, and the fluid gameplay and the new my career features as well as the great graphics in 2014. I loved the Association mode in 2k11 was present in 2k14 as well, and is mostly an overlooked mode that makes this game worth $70 by itself. So to my point... NBA2K 21 DID have BIG features you missed. The "ASSOCIATION MODE" was REVAMPED as MYNBA to include My GM and My league within the mode!! No extra $$ required at all! This is incredible since in 2014, they introduced my GM for PS 4, and My league in 2016, but it was all separate. In 2021, they combined them in the MyNBA mode. No $$$ required. Incredible. I actually hought they had done away woth Association mode, because nobody ever talks about it. Another thing. They used next gen graphics in 2021for the first time. (PS5 generation). so you get photo image like players, announcers and crowds. WNBA was introduced here as well, and from what I've read, WNBA requires no VC!! and is really good, having its OWN My NBA mode. MyCarreer mode is the one with the. Pay-to-win problem and most other modes get ignored. Thats too bad, because this game was a benchmark to how future 2k titles should be. Rhey didnt need to make a 2022 or even 23. Just update the AI and the CITY etc or whatever bugs and improvements through patches. And then come out with the new Jordan challenge later or whatever. from what i just watched, 2k24 updated their shot timer to go green on release, which is better, i don't know why they didnt do that before. The easier the better, no need to make sinking shots frustrating. Thats horrible. they've kept WNBA since but have they kept MyNBA? (Updated and all inclusive 'Association')? I don't know. 2023 apparently made rhe gameplay slower and more resistant, although inthink both should be possible, because if you can't score or show off, , that sucks. But they added some new dribble moves in 2k 23/24 to blow by your opponent easier. By again. All of this could have been done through patches. Thete was no need to market 3 more Full games!! That's crazy. Jordan challenge, sure... But seriously guys, you're killing yourselves. Anyway, good review. I just think you missed really important additions.

The reason why there's less innovation is because naturally early on in a games lifecycle there will be many things missing. 2K has already capped that.

You just have a skill issue my guy. You're also playing current gen 2K, next gen is amazing. You're just bad at the game, thats it.

5 minutes and Dad bought me the game yesterday for $2... Not worth it. Returning it ASAP to GameStop and I am bumping it down to 2K16 or 2K17. It was painful experience for 2K21.

I’d like to add on that your ratings for mycareer should be kept secret until you get drafted like If you average 20+ points 11 assists and 10 rebounds in the rookie showcase or in college and high school you get a higher rating than someone who didn’t play as good as you or is playing on a lesser difficulty. Also have your my player make a decision to certain way when they get fouled hard on the like they can either get angry and get ejected or keep their cool keep playing that game they had this in 2k15 but took it away as well.
