    Did you tune out the auto trans? What did you use to tune the stock ecu?

    • @80805sti
      @80805sti 3 дні тому

      I tried, long story short, the ecu kept looking for the transmission and other canbus codes. It ran and drove but not 100%. I also couldn’t tune some parameters I needed because they weren’t defined in ecuflash/romraider. I ended up spending money on a haltech stand alone. You can try to contact AGT engineering based in Australia if you plan to use the stock ecu and keep it NA but it didn’t work out for me in the end.

I’m going to install the Injectors, turn up the boost and see what the injector duty looks like. If I keep it like 80-90% on my wot at max boost then I think it would be okay. @@turboimport95it’s a lot less work than you’d think… it just drops right in. H6 Subarus aren’t very common in Hawaii. I was lucky to find the one I did. If I found a 3.6 sure, I’d drop one in… If I really wanted a 3.6 I’d have to ship one in which is very expensive in Hawaii. 3.6 has less off the shelf parts. I’d need custom parts which means more cost and more waiting. 3.6 has much thinner cylinder wall liners where it is already very thin in the 3.0. The 3.0 is plenty fun. This is a pretty low budget build and I’ve already spent too much 😂

      @@80805sti Tribeca's have the 3.6 i think. but if its super low budget considering you have to change the ecu etc to run a h6, would of been better off turboing the stock motor. swapping a bigger engine is never low budget, a lot of things will add up over time.

      @@turboimport95thanks, yeah the newer tribecas have them. I found my 06 Tribeca for $500. Used the stock ecu and for a while and it was all my own labor and I didn’t buy anything else since it I had the whole car. At this point it was a budget build. I see your point though, is it ever really a budget build? The plan was to keep it high compression low boost turbo. So we were thinking alike here.. Later I found that the engine actually had blown head gasket as it would over heat on longer drives… So after taking apart the engine, I found one thing after another and ended up doing lot of unexpected “while you’re in there” upgrades and repairs. It should drop right in! You would have to make a custom exhaust and maybe get slim fans for the radiator. The hardest part for most people is the wiring. you have to take off any engine related wires from your car’s harness and merge in the wires from your donor car’s engine. At the very minimum, you need to provide 12v to injectors, ignition coils, engine sensors, and ecu. The engine should run. You’d need to study the oem wire diagrams for this. Once unlock this skill you can swap any engine lol

    • @80805sti
      @80805sti 4 місяці тому

      that's pretty much it. Knock control was the main reason. Yes you can build a turbo set up with high compression pistons but when you start tuning and adding more boost you may be limited because you'll need to figure out how to control knock/detonation. You can use race gas or meth to combat knock but I wanted it to be reliable enough to use the crappiest pump gas in my area since this will be a street and possibly daily driven car. There are many other factors that cause knock. Dropping compression/increasing volume in the cylinder can keep things a little cooler which lowers the risk of knock/detonation/spontaneous ignition whatever you wanna call it lol Subarus aren't exactly built tough but if you tune well it can last a long time. I will be going from the stock 10.7:1 to supertech's 8.5:1. Supertech pistons are also 4032 low expansion forged aluminum for more reliability

      Thank you, that means a lot. Working and recording is really difficult. Your comment motivates me to keep recording!

    What fuel pump are you running?

      @@Domhayf35 just a simple walbro 255, nothing fancy. Not a high hp build, only boosted 5psi to give the h6 a little extra kick. Planing to go up to about 10psi and no more. I feel like the walbro is enough but the logs will tell me when I get to that point… I don’t think the stock rods and high compression will be too happy if I push it too much.

    You need the long tube resonator or a better muffler something chambered.

      Thanks, sorry this car will probably never see a dyno so I can’t give you any numbers. Road tuning it to keep costs as low as possible. Engine is from a 2006 Tribeca. Ecu is a Haltech elite 2500. Turbo is a garret gt3076 with a tial .82 housing. Exhaust/header is all home made by me with the exception of the casted manifolds by the skid factory. Also used in mighty car mods levorg. Check out my other short clips to see more about this car and I recommend you watch mighty car mods levorg build.

      @80805sti Hi. Did you write to them about headers or do they have it on their website?

      @@MrKarestonI ordered it from the skid factory back in Nov/Dec 2023 but it’s no longer listed there. Check out Al/TurboYoda’s website alliedperformanceprojects as I see the manifolds listed there now.
