Owning and Riding a vintage Snowmobile can be rewarding, fun and frustrating. Here is part one of trying to get this 1980 Ski Doo Blizzard 5500 running for the first time in many years and for the first time since I’ve had it. I just took this video initially to show a couple friends, but thought you’d enjoy it too! Part two might be a bit more entertaining!

Hotwiring a Field Find Flathead V8 1951 Ford F1 Truck Part 2
Переглядів 3 тис.3 роки тому
In this video I show how this old Field Find Ford Flathead V8 was jumpered to run again. On something this rough, or even an unknown vehicle, I like to disconnect the factory harness from the engine to avoid problems or fires. In this case, the engine was 6 volt so 6 volts was ran directly to the coil and a 12 volt was used to operate the starter. To shut it down, it's as easy as pulling the wi...

I bought this 1951 Ford F1 pickup truck at a yard sale and it had been sitting for over 20 years. I had not even looked at the engine assuming the old Flathead would be seized, cracked or just plain junk. After having it home and find it out the engine turned over, it was a no brainer to try and see what it would or wouldn't do! Enjoy the video and be happy that it is not dropping rusty parts a...

The easiest way to do this that I found was to get a set already machined from scratch from Born Again Classics They replace the concentric with a machined piece that has the threads cut for the frame and it is lengthened to take care of the 3/4" that the offset takes up with the washer that has the teeth. They aren't "cheap" but they work great and are a simple install. AND you aren't dealing with pressed in bushings that can come loose. They are SOLID one piece swaps!

I deleted mine using the home-made grade 8 bolt and install bushing in the offset shaft body method along with new control arm bushings and ball joints. The car drove pretty good as it was all original but wow what a difference. I didn't even need to bother with caster or camber as it was in good alignment, just reset the toe since I put new adjuster sleeves on it. Drives straight as an arrow and way less body roll up front, best of all it stops straight as can be now. A few weeks ago I put a PST rear sway bar kit on it, the big old boat handles pretty well now.

Thank you for your video. I have exactly the same issues with my Tanks fuel tank. I’m building a 1932 Highboy roadster, starting with an original chassis. The issues I have is the front of the tank is interfering with the cross member, the holes for the fitting don’t line perfectly with the holes in the chassis but it isn’t so bad. I also have to make clearance on the both side and last but not least, I can’t fit my spreader bar. I have interference with it. It’s a 2 inches bar. So I have to make a 1 1/2 bar.

Nice to see this. It's been a problem forever. The drain cock boss is missing most likely because drains in fuel tanks are not allowed. Replacement tanks don't have them. The Vintique tank probably predates the regulation enforcement as a reproduction of original as opposed to a replacement.

Hey Adam. Great truck. Please don't turn it into yard art. That truck looks almost complete, even though parts are rusted and the floor is shot. Mine (51 M3) was in similar condition with a shot floor and a wrecked engine as well. Now I drive it all summer around town. It looks to me that you could put yours back together without a massive amount of work. It may not look like it now, but those trucks are so simple, they can be worked on with a set of wrenches and a screwdriver. Where are you located? I'm in Alberta. I've got some pictures here but I haven't updated the site in quite a few years. sites.google.com/site/51mercpickup/home
