Finishing what we started - Lakeland 100 | Lake District | 4K | August 2024
After our DNF at Ambleside during Lakeland 💯 2024 we decided to return a fortnight later to finish what we started.
We started at Ambleside and ran the LL100 route to Coniston then made our way back to Ambleside via the Cumbria Way.
This just had to be done…

The Apocalypse Ultra by Beyond Marathon is a route with four loops with the sole checkpoint and HQ at Church Stretton. The format is do any number of loops from one to all four (50 miles) either clockwise or anticlockwise. 23 Before Tea is a challenge to summit 23 Wainwright Peaks. It starts and finishes at the Elterwater Hostel in the Langdale Valley of the Lake District. A clear dry day over the Easter weekend was a great opportunity to take on the George Fisher Tea Round again. The challenge is to summit all 10 peaks as seen from the George Fisher cafe window in Keswick. Although it was an enjoyable day out it proved to be very tough in places. Starting from Braithwaite we made our way down the Western side of Derwentwater, summiting Catbells, Maiden Moor and High Spy.
