It’s hard to be super prescriptive regard the best of anything, but if someone could point me in the direction of any guitarist anywhere, alive or dead, who can transpose himself in to any song, in any genre, in any style and seamlessly integrate himself with such a range of skill, feel, and precision then I really really want hear that person play. GG is like a memory bank, a human Chat GPT of guitar players. If there’s something he can’t do I’m not sure anyone’s born witness to it, and we probably only see 5% of what he can do anyway. Absolute genuine one off total genius.

Its funny how some people in the comments need to start comparing guitar players and who's better - it seems they have grown up in an environment that cannot accept the fact there can be multiple amazing things at the same time without one being better than the other. Like all the 5 basic elements have the same value. Nothing is greater or better than the other.

Seeing him with Neville Marten brings back memories of Guitar Technique Magazine which was my introduction to Guthrie. Probably the best guitar columnist of all time. He covered so many styles of music you could really see his genius in those lessons

I love when he did the octaves chord slides. Love a jazz guy that did that. I was so in love. But also I just love metal, and Guthrie reminds me of why I love playing. So many sounds and you can have fun too

People rave about his technique but what is more impressive to me is that he can just follow any chord change in any type of music and make things fit in his own way.. it’s just unbelievable

Guthrie is probably your favorite guitarist's favorite guitarist. Unless Guthrie is your favorite guitarist, in that case it's probably Holdsworth or Gary!

He is a person who understands the laws of nature according to Buddhism. He learns music just like we all learn languages. Freedom + love + passion + discipline is key here. He also travels to expand his musical ideas. His parents must have understood life for which we should be grateful because the music in the family inspired him to study music. So now we have Guthrie, guitar’s God We can all be gods! By understanding yourself and consciousness.

He is Scary-good. Love Guthrie = absolute Beast on guitar.
