CP is my number 1 park but it is so close they just have the best location of a park and the best coaster collection IMO and just the better atmosphere
The park just confirmed it! 👑 Long live the king! 👑
Long live the king
There are a lot of political "news" channels and biblical prophets who can keep churning out nonsense, be proven completely wrong 100 times over, and their gullible audience of rubes will keep tuning in for more.
Traditional media and content creation can’t be compared due to fundamental different expectations that consumers have
So about 5 years ago sixflags put out that they were re doing it
Even though el toro is my favorite roller coaster of all time next to steel vengeance Gonna miss ka man i love this coaster one of my favorites even though it's a short ride man this sucks and knowing it's gonna be gone forever is just gut wrenching
out of interest, where does the 1m+ operation costs come from?
I keep being told that Cedar Fair doesn’t want competition with Cedar Point for years and I try to ignore it but I’m afraid this is what this situation feels like to me. I’m worried for Magic Mountain and Great Adventure I wish this merger never happened. Steel Vengeance and Millennium Force, Maverick has also had issues and are expensive to operate but they won’t touch those at all. I’m really scared Cedar Fair is going to totally ruin the entire hobby for me.
This has nothing to do with competition or cedar point. It’s all about cost to maintain and operate
I think it’ll get converted like top thrill 2 there is more evidence leaning towards that. There are three markers behind the launch track that is a triangle formation which is how the spike would be made. Also as far as money goes it would cost way more to remove the ride and build something else rather than converting it. Especially because they would have to build something that could live up to kingda ka which would cost a ton. I think it’ll get converted
I wouldn’t bet on this
@@StationWaitI’m not betting on it as I’m going to the park to get my final rides today but there are no white markers near ka and everything else I said before is making me lean more towards a conversion
Imagine if it was replaced by a bigger version of Hyperia.
Imagine if the park will get an S&S Air Launch the fastest in America
itts closing sadly i was there today went on it one lastg time the employees told me its leaving on sunday and today wand tommorow are the lasty time to get your ride.
KK is being removed.
Converted seems more likely
No it doesn’t
I really still think it will be extended
Goodbye Kingda Blah!!
They are not removing itc... they wouldn't make orange markers to cover it up with rumble from taking down a coaster
Sunday November 10, 2024. Probably the last day.
That’s what I’ve been hearing, I’ve also heard the 17th
people have emailed the park higher ups, they said it will continue to operate. but yall choose to believe annon sources…
@@maincoasters the employee is answers the emails in the guest relations department is pretty f'ing far from a higher-up who would have inside info.
@ and the employees operate the rides…
Zumanjaro's sign got removed
I saw that right after I uploaded this video. Another big sign (no pun intended)
months ago…
The sign got removed a while ago because they used that line for a second exit during fright fest I guess to reduce any confusion with it being a queue for a ride. The sign really doesn’t mean anything
If Kingda Ka closes without so much as a word from them I'm never going back to Great Adventure. It's a 6 hour drive from where I live, and I've always wanted to go back since I went the first time in 2019. Toro and Nitro are cool and all, but the main reason I wanted to go back was always Ka. It has always been (and now will always be) my favorite rollercoaster, and the one time I went I was only able to go on it once because my brother didn't want to go on it again. The least they can do is leave the top hat standing. That being said I would still spend a ludicrous amount of money for a brake fin, or even a bolt, if they tear it down. I'm sure many enthusiasts would kill to own a part of Ka if they couldn't ever ride it again.
I hadn’t thought of selling scrap as souvenirs. I bet they could make a good amount of the demo cost back if they did it right
I have a Vortex track slice from Kings Island. I'm lucky I have it. I'd buy a piece of Ka if i could. But I havent rode Ka ever though. I also have multiple wheels from my hope park Kentucky Kingdom. There is one ride I'd LOVE a piece of but it would be dam near impossible................................... I'll give you a hint: It used to be at Kings Island............ Not SOB........ Or Vortex.......... a small part of the ride still exists somewhere in the park................ Take a guess. Its from my #1 of all time. Lol.
ISTG if they close this before I ever ride it...
I know it’s too late to tell you this, but get there if you can. I’m sorry you probably never get to ride it
Bro, the .mainstream media lies multiple times per day every day and still have die hard fans.
I went to college for media. I’ve taken entire courses on how mainstream media interacts with the people. Content creators arent held to the same expectations in any way and aren’t comparable at ALL
Conversion coming
Nah
I think it will get a conversion
Unfortunately, I've heard from multiple operators that the demolition contract is signed. Maintenance has been halted for the past 3 weeks. It really is the end for our green giant. Cedar fair, fuck you.
I don’t wanna think it’ll close but the markers…
Shoot I meant to mention the markers! Pinning this comment because that was the last thing that made me believe what I had already been hearing!
@ 👍
I went today. I heard the ride operators let someone slightly below height limit and said the ride may never be their in a day or two.
@@filmbricks-stopmotion That is an extremely dangerous thing for an operator to do and that can get the operator in a crap ton of trouble or even fired. It doesn't matter if the child may never get to experience the ride, these rides have height requirements for a reason and that is potentially putting the child's safety at risk by letting them ride when they don't meet the height requirements.
@@filmbricks-stopmotion Very likely not true but sounds like something someone would incorrectly say happened because they didn’t have the full story
It would be really funny if it didn’t close and all these people that are dead set on it closing look silly.
I’d love this, unfortunately it won’t be happening
@ I personally don’t treat anything as completely true until the park says anything. It seems fairly likely but I’d rather be slightly optimistic.
IT can still be closed. Originally, rumors pointed to 2025, but then it switched suddenly to this year. Obviously, it seems to be a tussle from higher ups. IMO coaster influencer should be doing more to whip up the community to annoy the chain into at least delaying the closing back to its original end date in 2025. Minds have been changed last minute before. Hoping that eventually when they do address they will be doing so on making 2025 the last season rather than cheeping out right now because I assure you many will be flocking if they got an official heads up. Not everyone lives in the tri-state area nor has the means to book last minute trips
I agree it’s a shitty situation. Unfortunately from what I’ve been told about how corporate wants this done and it’s not a park level choice, I don’t think any loud noise in the community will do anything. Suits will be suits
@@S.J.C._Entertainment one of my superviser's firend works at sfga and they stated that kignda ka will be closing this sunday, it might even close early due to an employee night for kignda ka, after that, it will be no more
Again tallest fastest! Formula Rosa been down forever, even had its launch removed…🤓🤘
Inconsequential. Formula Rosa still exists
I get that Orion and Millie are both gigas, but I don't think they should really be compared. They had different goals when being built. Cedar Fairs wanted a ride that was tall fast, and they wanted the ride to maintain it's speed for the most part, that's why it has no mid brake run. Orion has all the tricks, and air time but it slows the ride a lot.
the og corkscrew 1980-2008 is better
4:30 none of those parks have the capacity to get a coaster built last minute like this I think the main reason it is going to CP is because they’re one of the only parks who can get it open for 2025, which is likely the goal from corporate SF
there probably won't be a tunnel
I hope they invest heavily in cedar point making taking back the coaster record making cedar point and ohio as a whole as the roller coaster capital of the world. If they ever build a coaster to to rival falcons flight it should go arround the entire park. Also cedar point can add land to the edge of the park to build the station. They could make it interact with other coaster. Run it through the structure of steel vengeance ect.
Glad to see you posting
To me, this is too much of a ride for Valleyfair, Darien Lake, or Michigan's Adventure, but probably not enough of a ride for Cedar Point, KI, Knotts, SFGAdv, SFGADM, SFMM, etc. It probably belongs at a mid tier park. I think they're doing this as an insurance policy so CP has something new to offer next year in the event that TT2 never reopens or even take much longer to get open than they have hinted at.
Darien lake IS a mid tier park
SFOG could use a tilt coaster since it's a mid tier by stating that it's ment for an average mid tier park
By vekoma getting their coaster in CP this is huge for their company especially if the public loves it. It is a huge score for vekoma because if loved the coaster world will market it enough that other parks will want one.
Very true
i still believe it shoulda been at la ronde, but just happy its coming
They did get screwed with green lantern not being moved, didn’t they?
@@StationWait agreed, hopefully something will come
It's not so much an apology for TT2 as much as it's insurance against the ride not being ready next year. They need *something* for next year in case TT2 is still having issues.
I'm hoping we next .god it's only been 20 years...I originally wanted a invert for us...but after going on Dr dobical I was blown away... something like that but longer will kill at VF . period 💯💯🎤🎤or a vekoma stc....just like the new one that opened up...either one will work..and do wonder's at VF . hashtag vf new coaster for 26...💯💯👌👌
Thank you for the video. Overall I completely agree with all the points. Interesting on the infrastructure at Valleyfair as I was not aware of. In terms of Darien Lake, this park has so many questions marks, it will be interesting to see what happens with this property (given that the company doesn't own it, they manage it). My biggest question with DL is will the owning company provide a big enough budget to even allow the company to bring the park up to their standards. Time will tell. I can say on my last visit (2nd week in AUG this year) the park was in pretty rough shape given just how it used to look 10 years ago (just my thoughts).
It’s beyond ridiculous at this point. They need to fix some of their older coasters instead of just adding a new one seemingly every year. Many of their older ones are simply too rough to enjoy any longer. Kings Island needs a new coaster much more than yet another one at CP. CP also needs to really work on and put money into its water park as it’s the worst we’ve ever been at. CP is like the rich kid in high school whose parents give him a new car every year whole the other students get used Toyotas.
I'm hugely in the Give MA something camp, but i don't think a first-in-north-america type of ride is what anyone in corporate would add there. Got an extra B&M or other common model, sure (comments aside of how a b&m for MA was cancelled) but not this specific ride.
A couple years ago I had predicted that MA would get some sort of prototype ride as a test for a larger park so they wouldn’t have a potential major failure at a high profile park. This would have been perfect for that, but alas I was wrong
They did get something couple years ago ok it's not a major coaster or ride but the camp snoopy area could not have been a cheap investment also they have been getting lots of park improvements which were much needed I've heard shivering timbers is getting more track work next year
Hopefully tt2 and this don’t have major mechanical issues to start the season. Double bust would be extra sad times.
Yeah. Like I said in the video, I’m going to make a TT2 video so I’ll be brief here but that would definitely be a shitty start to a potentially great season
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN KINGS ISLAND 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I’d keep my eyes open for something better at KI for their next addition if half of what I’ve heard is true
Feels like they get a wing coaster just like KD
This coaster should have gone to six flags great adventure, that park has two of the best coasters ever, that park doesn’t have a super lot of stuff, I know about the flash coaster, but it’s always oddballs that get sent there
The TT2 reparation is TT2 2025, i dont subscribe to the theory either. Its honestly a bit naive.
Exactly. Not like TT2 is being torn down
@@StationWait I'm so curious about the timeline of the next investment. Not to put the cart before the horse, but if this is unplanned Cap Ex, what happens with the planned Cap Ex?
Yeah I’ve been thinking about that. One could argue that the last 3 coasters at CP were all unplanned. Wild mouse was allegedly thrown in with TT2, TT2 was caused by the TTD incident, now this
I honestly don't have that much faith in TT2 opening on time next summer or even at all. I think this might be an insurance policy to keep the hotels filled in case something like that happens.
@@mdomnis the hotels were filled this year and last year. Last year without TT2 they had record attendance. Also, sit down and do the math on that one. 20 million isn't unreasonable for a coaster... you think they're gonna make that back on hotel stays and in park spending to break even? Keep in mind coaster cost is usually only for steel, trains, controls. Install, concrete, everything else is added cost. A 20 million dollar coaster might cost an additional 5-10 mil to put in.
I was already planning a trip to Cedar Point next year. This announcement has made me even more excited to go!
Cedar point should add a ground up wooden roller coaster!!!!
Siren's Curse look like it will be fun.
Wait the intro was fire, I stayed to watch the rest of the vid after, good work 🙏🙏
IMO it seems like a small thrill coaster for such a big park. And while it looks great, it doesn’t quite match up with all huge coasters. It does indeed seem like it was designed for a smaller park.
Exactly. It makes no sense at Cedar Point. It could have been a star attraction at many other parks. At Cedar Point it will just be a mid tier ride with low capacity.
Meanwhile, small independent parks continue to invest in themselves ie Adventureland, Lost Island. Meanwhile, the giant Six Flags (Cedar Fair) parks, who don’t need the new coasters, drain all the resources so their small parks, who need it most, shrivel up and die…a slow death.
I totally agree. It's the same thing with Herschend. Wild Adventures and Kentucky Kingdom will be stuck in a timewarp, and all of the exciting additions will go to SDC and Dollywood
This announcement is the thoosie equivalent of Nikocado Avocado’s “2 Steps Ahead” video. Thanks for giving your insight and information, it’s great that you’re able to share knowledge on this that not many have learned yet.
Since we live 1.5 hrs from Cedar Point, bought seasons passes for 2025 already, and have a thrill-loving daughter that should be just over the 48" mark next summer, I'm going to say that it ended up at the perfect park! 🙂
Well, because they screwed up the last one.
Someone didn’t watch the video
