    This got me thinking, if we constructed powerlines with 3 towers in parallel with a considerable distance we could avoid arcing and have the potential to crank the voltage up almost infinitely for future energy demand

    How does the strength of this weld stand up against conventional welding? Like in arc welding with filler rods? And why would explosive welding be used instead of those other methods? Are there specific applications (for example, if you need to weld enormously wide pieces of steel together) that other methods cannot suffice?

      Explosive welding can weld almost any metal to almost any other metal.

    • @siegfried_artificer
      @siegfried_artificer 4 дні тому

      As far as I know it's almost as strong as a solid material. But I'm not an expert. Of course here we usually have two different materials, so the strength is always related to the weaker material. But we do not have the region of the influence of the intense heat that changes the crystalline structure of the metal and thus alters the strength, like we do in arc welding method

    Great video, thank you. I did not know about the wavy pattern. Im very curious as to how those patterns form exactly. Do the waves all propagate radially from the corner of ignition?

      It has something to do with metal at the time of impact behaving like a high viscosity liquid. Here's a link that should give more info on that. royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rspa.1967.0010

      I have zero experience in this stuff, so take this with the tiniest grain of salt, but I think it's something to do with how craters form; it moves material, but then that gets blocked by the other material, making it wavy as multiple craters form then get prevented from growing larger. Zero experience, though, so I'm also gonna wait for an actual response.

    What are the spacers made of and what is their exact shape? Are there different spacers for different applications?

    • @operationalfacts5602
      @operationalfacts5602 10 днів тому

      The spacers can be made from one of the materials to be welded. But I'm not sure if it's limited to that. The key is for the spacer material to be consumed by the jet that 's blowing ahead of the contact point.

    But if you don’t cause destruction then Halliburton can’t come in after the war is over and rebuild everything. At a substantial cost of course. All those highly lucrative contracts to rebuild a country after a war would be lost and we can’t have that.

    Retired engineer says: I've waited my whole life for this! It's something that comes up a lot, going back to WWII. Never have seen a picture even, or had a clear idea of what's actually happening. A picture would have been nice! SO, if I understand this, the tiny explosion shock just makes the bolt break? Nothing comes out? I've always imagined that there was you know, a flash and a bang. WELL! I learned something this morning, and the sun isn't even up. I don't need this information, but I really wanted it. The technician in me wonders if there's a special plug on top of the thing, or just some wires hanging out?

    I don’t understand how this would accomplish anything militarily other then creating a minor annoyance. Anything remotely important is going to have backup generators, hell most homes have at least a genset or two. This is very unlikely to actually destroy any grid infrastructure other then a few fuses that would be replaced in a few hours, so it would have to be used immediately before an invasion and even Joe Blow homeowner has a couple days of fuel for his genset, while critical things like hospitals and military installations have weeks or months of fuel on hand.

    Back in the 1960s, IBM had explosive links in their computers. If the electrical power went wonky, these links would go off to quickly shut down circuits and prevent further damage. If they went off, they would have to be replaced. That was an expensive and time consuming operation. In our lab there was an engineer who was on duty all the time the computer was on and his job was to shut the computer down if power went wonky before the explosive links were triggered. The good old days😂

    From the info on your video, I deduced that it was the SOFAR grid that is so extraordinarily sensitive, it picked up the implosion of the tiny OceanView submersible that was observing the Titanic that first confirmed the accident as such. The US military, Coast Guard, were the first to report an implosion, time and place. Whotta a great and powerful thing is this brilliantly-based network! The sub probably was coincidently close in depth to that special band of water when it happened making the sound carry far enough to be picked up by all 3 stations. All-in-all, this was a great eye-opening video that reveals how-the-h*** the military knows such things that for centuries before, people were just never seen again and no one knew what happened, e.g., submarines Scorpion and Thresher in the sixties.

    • @operationalfacts5602
      @operationalfacts5602 Місяць тому

      In addition, nowadays they also have underseas microphones(hydrophones) that floats in the SOFAR channel near underseas cables in the middle of the oceans. So a disturbance in the sea doesn't have to be to close to the SOFAR channel depth. Checkout the image link below. www.whoi.edu/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/v42n2-smith1en_5626_115448.jpg

    Civilians are the only real target in a military operation and any other conclusion is propaganda or psyop manipulation. Any military operation targeting non civilian onjectives are wasting resources and fulfilling the loss conditions. Also, this idea is beyond stupid due to the electrical potential of graphene and also that graphene floats in air... these actually use a molten copper "film" which melts the insulation and creates more effective shorts circuts. Think of it like a thin sheet of molten copper that solidifies quickly after wrapping around the lines. They arent effective, its best to just cut the lines. Sure this can cause some damage as fault prevention kicks in but they're not even 5% effective.
