This is very dangerous with how much salt you added. If anyone tries this be aware that this will generate a LOT of chlorine gas, that will disolve your airways and create fluid in your lungs. Its like drowning on dry land.

Judging by the size of inverter it is no more than 1000 watt continously usage. Nearly all Chinese inverter are half of the stated wattage

The problem it has with starting is in the over current protection circuit...It needs more time delay...The soft starting circuit seems to be ok. The fan control circuit seems to have a problem for sure...

I had better luck with copper acetate - made by throwing some old pennies (degreased) into white vinegar. For plating on steel, you should have a strike coat like nickel first.

Bollocks. I draw about 80 thousand a month from three sources and it is not enough. I live in a rented studio condo for about ten thousand a month. I support a live-in girlfriend who is extremely cheap, but I still need more money at the end of the month.

That's not copper sulfate. Neither salt nor baking soda have sulfur in them. Your solution is likely suspended copper oxide(s). This is why your part came out dark.

If you hooked up inverter to oscilloscope, you would see that when you power the inverter on, it ramps up to the rated voltage over a few seconds...so instead of shocking the vacuum motor with full rated voltage from a cold start, it's slowly ramping up the voltage to the vacuum motor from power on , which overall makes the peak current MUCH lower than it would've been had the inverter been supplying full rated voltage before powering on the vacuum

It's a 1200 W inverter,transformer inside is labeled 1200 W.Have the same.

Have the same inverter and same issue with vaccum cleaner.Mine can't start a 900W vaccum cleaner,then a mesured the consumed power at start and its 1400W.I open the case from the inverter and inside i found transformers labeled at 1200W,so it's not a 2000W inverter but 1200W.All devices under 1200W works fine for me but not over !

Great video Paul. From my experience at living here now for 3 months i'd say the biggest cost is alcohol. You see many foreigners drinking in bars which whilst it's comparatively cheap, still adds up and gets very expensive and forms a big part of the budget.

Inverter has slow start. Can hear the vacuum slowly spin up as the Inverter voltage increases.

That's not copper plated, copper will not plate directly to aluminum or any ferrous metals. You first need to plate with zinc or nickel and then overplate with copper, it will come out looking like bright copper and not an oxidized coating which is what you have there.

Should be a video on how not to set up an off grid system, it is a fire hazard and should be set up to a decent sized battery bank as an old truck battery probably won’t run a 2000w inverter for any length of time, i wonder how many solar panels are on the roof, a good system should be balanced, for supply and demand and that lot is definitely been made up as you went along 🤡

some loads consume a large amount of current when they start running, exactly like cars they need a starer motor to start the car which can reach 600 hundred Amps in some cases, that's why a good battery is needed to offer this huge amount of current. In case of Inverters you need a big capacity values for the high voltage capacitors. you can add them yourself in parallel with the existed one. More capacitors = more capacity + better heat dissipation + more surge capability
