Most motors have a start power that's 4 to 7 times the runnning power (what's on the label). It worked when the vacuum was on and the inverter then turned on because of the soft start feature - it starts at about 40-60 volts and steps it up to the rated volts (220 in this case). That means the starting power is roughly 20-25% of the starting power on 220 volts, thus the vacuum starts with no problem. Unless you do a lot of research, you may not find a chart that lists the useful information such as "Power for vacuum: running 1300W, start 5000W".

Hi, I think the root cause is this is an insufficient power inverter, which has only 600W continuous output power as the poster said.

the soft start on inverter help to reduce the inrush current on vacuum cleaner.

@@bdb7629 But... may be whit a combine capacitors star and run it could fix that problem!

    •  3 роки тому +1

@@chikiguites The surge current of a vacuum cleaner like that is ~30A for the first 10-50ms.
The asic these inverters sport is pretty nice actually. The default setting is to ramp the output from 0 to 220 or 110 in 3s.
The best thing a vacuum cleaner or any other mains voltage, brushed motor powered tool could have is a soft start. One NTC in the angle grinder or the vac could solve many inverter and grid issues very few care about but most suffer from in one form or another...
Soft starting is nice. Hard starting buns and wears down stuff.

Tried many inverters myself over time and found that modified sine wave variations seem to run inductive loads much better whilst pure sine wave models better suit electronic components.

I think pure sine works better on inductive loads.and modified sinewave for electronic appliances

YOU NEED a bank of super capacitors to supply power surge from the batteries to the inverter. It's common problem of 12-24 v source, slow coping power which trigger shutdown of inverter. Try it

I was just wondering this when I read your comment lol...I've got a pair of 60 volt DC caps which are 12,000 mfd each..I think I'll hook them up to my 2000 watt Aims..I've got 6 batteries hooked to it so it's not as bad as it used to be lol..but with less batts there's a volt drop that make the charger c0me on

People already told you why it starts alright with the load on and not off and I'll tell you why the wah-wah is: The fan is causing some piece of the case to resonate because the fan is poorly balanced, screws and case fitting is cr...chinese and nothing more.
Edit: The fans. Plural. And being two of them, you'll get the destructive and constructive interference vibrations caused by their different rotational speeds (and wobble)

some loads consume a large amount of current when they start running, exactly like cars they need a starer motor to start the car which can reach 600 hundred Amps in some cases, that's why a good battery is needed to offer this huge amount of current.
In case of Inverters you need a big capacity values for the high voltage capacitors.
you can add them yourself in parallel with the existed one.
More capacitors = more capacity + better heat dissipation + more surge capability

If you hooked up inverter to oscilloscope, you would see that when you power the inverter on, it ramps up to the rated voltage over a few seconds...so instead of shocking the vacuum motor with full rated voltage from a cold start, it's slowly ramping up the voltage to the vacuum motor from power on , which overall makes the peak current MUCH lower than it would've been had the inverter been supplying full rated voltage before powering on the vacuum

The problem it has with starting is in the over current protection circuit...It needs more time delay...The soft starting circuit seems to be ok. The fan control circuit seems to have a problem for sure...

Have the same inverter and same issue with vaccum cleaner.Mine can't start a 900W vaccum cleaner, then a mesured the consumed power at start and its 1400W.I open the case from the inverter and inside i found transformers labeled at 1200W,so it's not a 2000W inverter but 1200W.All devices under 1200W works fine for me but not over !

Is it possible that there is a heat sensor that speeds the fan up and that's when it makes the noise? I don't know but it will act differently when it has more batteries I imagine...mine is a 2000 watt also but it's a lot quieter...jeez how can you put up with that it sounds like a hive of bumblebees? Also mine says 6000 surge for 20 seconds so there's something inside different but there has to be enough current available..I used two sets of #2 cables to the 24 volt side and it has no trouble starting a 1450 watt air fryer while the TV and lights are on but I can't run it long without voltage drop so in 2 weeks I'll have 8 batteries hooked up and I think it will have enough to keep going without the sun and without kicking into charger mode...it sounds like yours is power thirsty for a big shot of amps just when something is turned on...mine sort of did that when I only had 2 bats but when I went to 6 from 4 it pretty much quit and just runs whatever it is

Thanks for the video, sorry I'm a bit late to this party. I had one if these inverters installed by a solar company in Thailand a week or so ago and not able to run above aprrox. 650 watts. It trips every time at about 2.9 amps @ 225 volts. I will be getting them back as I don't believe this is satisfactory. Did you do any further tests?

  • @thediyguy7067

    TBE are not true rated.
    That is called surge power.

    • @thediyguy7067
      @thediyguy7067 4 роки тому +2

From the moment you start the vacumm. It will consume twice it rated output. (More than 1300w) (only last for sec.)
From the moment you start the inverter, it will produce a surge power. (More than its true rating, but will only last for a sec.)

You do know @ 1500w it should serge to 3000w it should have been able to run that vacuum with no problem has that vacuum is only 1300w. As usual poor construction. I almost buy this inverter but went with another brand after doing my investigation.
