Thank you so much, my friend! Prisma color makes acrylic paint markers?? I’m gonna have to look into those! I’ve tried other cheap paint markers like these ones, but they act more like watercolor and are super thin… These ones are exceptionally good quality, but they’re lacking in dark tones Which I use a lot… And the last ones I tried actually did mess with the paper, so apparently it’s a hard thing to find quality wise! I’m glad you like the pan pastel background! I was surprised at how much that color complimented the rest, it was a very warm purple/violet, and I was expecting it to be more of a grayish purple… I need to use these more often!😂 Well, I hope you have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by and checking out my double up video! Yes, I was finally able to get one out this weekend, wasn’t sure it was gonna happen and I debated on even uploading this one… But I’m glad you found some value in it and can maybe try it out!😉 So oral surgery is a big deal!! I was a little too run ragged again this week to reach out for a chat, but apparently you were resting and healing so we can just make time this coming week! I hope it wasn’t anything too major and invasive and painful, Cause oral surgery is definitely not at the top of my list for fun things to do!! 🤨 I am definitely looking forward to that video of yours! Yeah, I’m really not committed to this way either, and eventually I’m sure we will find our own way doing it that works for us :-) following shapes and landmarks through observation usually yields better results.…😉 I’ve watched a lot of different tutorials over the years, and one of the few that I have found helpful has been from an urban sketching guy named “sketching Scotty“ he has a couple of videos on male and female portraits and portraits in different positions.… They are pretty simplified Versions, but I found them less confusing. Keep trying!🤔☺️

Oh my gosh, there were so much going on in this video! I was trying to fit everything I wanted to say into the 15 minutes lol I really did enjoy the brushes. I was really liking the way. The paint went on so Finn, and I could totally see how they would be great for layering, however, I think my paper was the problem… It wasn’t holding a whole Lotta water even though I knew that going in because it’s mixed media paper… But I think I was just trying to do too many new things at once! Lol I have in mind a really good Paper that I’m going to use with these brushes next… I have a feeling it will work great and it is on a block not in a book so the paper won’t buckle. and I LOVED the silver black velvet brush!!! That thing held a great point even though it was relatively floppy so it had a good ability to do a smooth wash, but get some pretty fine lines as well! 😉 So I actually wasn’t using the tabletop easel in this video, because I wasn’t sure how I was going to fit my extremely large watercolor pallet on the table with my water and brushes, etc.… I have been solving the problem of getting my head in the way by tilting the camera a little bit instead of having it directly over my head. But unfortunately, that causes me to lose some of the frame if I’m not paying attention. That’s why and some of the shots I’m holding the paper close to me so I could do the eyes, lips, etc. and you’re only seeing half of the paper. So yeah super fun always trying to figure out those filming and editing Issues! Lol. I’ve been so focused on getting a video out regularly and trying to make sure they’re all portraits, that I haven’t been taking enough time and developing a piece so this video was me trying to pay more attention to that… So thank you so much for your beautiful comment , because you are just noticing that I put a little more time into the art! You inspire me so much as well, my friend! Obviously the brushes were an inspiration for this video, and trying to do things I know are hard for me like sketch from a photo reference, use a micron pen and really have the patience to develop the peace More “technical and traditional” manner. I can’t wait to see what you’ve been doing! Even just a little five or 10 minute sketchbook tour/update on what you’ve been working on maybe? no pressure lol🤣 But seriously, I know how busy you are, and it must be really tough to juggle the tough jobs that you have and home related things and then still make time for yourself, I think it’s truly amazing that you have any time for yourself at all! I really hope I can figure out how to use the chest mount better… I had to cut out so much of the video because it wasn’t getting what I was doing in frame… And also got a desk easel that it might work better with so gotta try that out too! 😝 I especially like the colors together for some reason I always like the burnt umber with the warm red, and I threw a little green in!
