It’s like how you can’t just throw coilovers on a car and claim static. While yes it’s technically true, it’s really a more of a title earned. Anyone can import a car. Building the car is way cooler.

My knowledge is limited to 90s cars but I’ve owned multiple USDM cars that didn’t have side marker lights. Their Euro equivalents did have them however so not quite sure the side markers are required in the US

That’s not what USDM is though. If JDM is only Japanese cars with Japanese specs, it’s the same thing with USDM. So if these are Japan spec American cars that are RHD, they’re not USDM. Just like a Japanese car that’s LHD isn’t JDM, just a Japanese car.
