I have got a Kiev-6C,but the pc flash can`t work now,how can i fix it QAQ
@@伊万诺夫维克多 find a manual to figure out what the problem is with the flash sync or send it to Arax in Ukraine for repairs
Leaving this comment sharing my experience in case it helps anyone out. I just finished installing one of these today. Works great after some troubleshooting. Mine would not go into programming mode. The manual says to push the valet button 5 times and then your lights/horn should go off 5 times as confirmation. Mine would not do this. This was because the unit was in valet mode. Not sure how it got into valet mode in the first place but you should be able to hold the valet button for 4 seconds with your key in the ignition on position and your status LED will go OFF. If your LED is ON you are probably in valet mode and it won't go into program mode while in this state. Valet mode completely disables the remote start system until valet mode is turned off.
You were close but no cigar,?
Not sure what you mean. Filter was changed out
Amazing job! I love my Lubitel but I'm having a really hard time to nail focus when doing portraits. Do you sell the 3D printed mount with the finder?
Generally you can stop down the aperture to ensure you have everything in focus although you lose out on the depth of field. I can certainly print out the model for you if you would like, you would have to source the actual viewfinder for it though. Send me an email at alex.usovich@yandex.ru if interested.
Aleks, man I love this build and the fact that you did most of the body work yourself. great way to save money and own a high end car. I purchased on from Copart this past June. The car is an awesome ride...and you were right, the gas mileage city wide is not for the weak. I paid out the door $2500 with 145,000 miles on it (56161454). Again, Great job my brother.
Enjoyable video. I recently picked up a Leicaflex SL at a good price to compliment my original Leicaflex. As you mentioned, the viewfinder is second to none. I tested it with a roll of old Soviet Svema film, low ISO and got some amazing results. I am amazed at the affordability of the camera. I own a few Leica R lenses and cannot say enough about the experience. I too will not take out the camera if it is raining or may get damaged; I have a couple of FED2s that are reliable and could probably fall out of the sky and not get damaged.
Thank you! I absolutely love the viewfinder of the Leicaflex SL and it's still the best I've ever used. It's crazy to me that you can get a Leicaflex SL for almost the same price as a Pentax K1000 or Canon A-1; granted the price for the R cam lenses is pretty steep! There actually was a Leicaflex SL2 MOT that fell 8000 meters before crashing into the sand and was still operational, although it sustained some damage.
@@AleksUsovich That is an impressive record for the Leicaflex. In terms of cost, my understanding that initially Leicaflex cameras were rather expensive. About fifteen years or so ago, the demand just tanked and the prices went down by more than 80% virtually overnight.
Is English your native language? It sounds like it, very good. There are some moments when you appear to be searching for a word, that's what me wonder if you can just as readily switch into a Russian dialect. I also have a 1D Mk Iv and like it just as it is though my 5D Mk IV is a better camera. Sometimes it's just easier to have one lens on one and another lens on another camera. When rambling about, I'll put a 50mm on 1D Mk Iv and deal with whatever comes my way.
English is not my native language, a mix of Russian / Belarussian is my native language. The 1D IV is a fantasitc camera and I often chose it over my 5D II when I had both years ago. I love carrying two cameras with different lenses and being prepared for anything with dual focal lengths.
Getting transmission fluid changes for my 2003 pilot for the past 20 years and i was always informed its just a drain and fill . No one ever mentioned a actual filter that's in a difficult area.
@@davem.539 It's a usually drain and fill for ATF but there is also a filter. I'd do the filter every 50K-100K. Not every drain and fill if you do the recommended 15k drain and fill intervals

I'm warned that the manifold exhaust pipe bolts are a PIA to remove. They snap off when old.
@@terry5373 They more than likely will. You'll probably have to drill them out and put in new bolts and nuts. Not too hard of a procedure

Good video. Thank you sir.

Hey, I did this with the battery, but I haven't put a film in yet. Does this effect whether I see the green light or I don't? Because currently I can't see the light eventhough the battery is how it is supposed to be in this video.
Does the camera work like does the shutter fire at different shutter speeds?
I love mine, but I am 78 years old, and the lens in combo with my Canon 1DS Mark 2 is just to much weight for any extended photo shoots for me. It's a great lens, but kinda heavy for this old man,
This lens is certainty heavy especially paired with the 1DS II. Jack of all trades but master of none, especially not a master of being light weight.
Hi! Found this video after quite a while and I'm amazed at the quality of the production. Regarding the topic, I find some of the pictures posted here very good. Agreed, some may be crooked, or out of focus, or depicting a boring subject, while I find some others sponteous, and almost poetic in all its "flaws". They look like they were taken out of a family's photo book. Also, while it may not have been a concern at the time of this video, "perfect" photos like the ones you described can be generated by an AI nowadays.
Thank you very much for your kind words! Comparison to the work of others definitely seems to devalue my own work but you certainly make a great point in saying that it is poetic with it's flaws and not being perfect. I had not even considered that possibility before!
Though I don't own a Honda, I found the video to be a very interesting video introduction. Your follow up segment shows a drain cock for emptying the can. Is there also a filter inside the can which is changed with each engine oil change? Also, as the oil catch can is intended to prevent build up in the engine and EGR and PCV valves, am I correct in presuming there should be no problems leaving the can on the vehicle should an emissions test be required?
Thank you! The inside of the can only has a simple baffle at the bottom to separate the vapor and oil / contaminates below but still allowing air to pass via a small mesh screen up top. As for emissions testing I would assume that an oil catch can would be even more beneficial since some auto manufactures (like VW) in the past had the PCV valve go directly into the exhaust pipe (without combustion / recirculation) which greatly increased both pollution and much dirtier emissions. Newer vehicles as best as I know don't do this practice but there should be no issues leaving the catch can on the vehicle in areas where emissions testing is required.
Kodak instamatic took 126 cartridge film, not 127…fyi
Very useful introduction to the camera for me as I have not yet used a folding camera. The camera looks much easier to carry than a Kiev 6C or even a 35mm SLR. Must be a huge image quality improvement over a Holga. Nice to see a review on a camera that still has an affordable Evil Bay price as decades old medium format cameras in good condition are becoming prohibitively expensive for enthusiasts. I'm looking forward to your complete review. Happy Jet Skiing!
Thank you! The folding camera used to be called "pocket cameras" as they were easily able to carried in the pockets of trench / sports coats as were popular in the 40s/ 50s/ and 60s. The quality of the lenses is far superior to that of a Holga. I've darkroom printed 8x10s taken with this camera and the prints are plenty sharp! There are plenty of these Zeiss Nettar 6x6s on eBay for under $50 that perform beautifully as they're built tank tough. Unfortunately most non folding medium format cameras are crazy expensive even the Lubitel 166s that used to be around $50 used a few years back are over $150 for a cheap plastic camera (I loved using it though even though both of mine had the shutter fail unfortunately). There are Soviet folding cameras as well like the Moskva 1-5 and the Iskra but those have unfortunately been plagued with issues like light leaks, shutter problems, and extremely high prices due to the rarity of them. I've always been curious about trying them but the Zeiss Nettars have always treated me well and are plentiful so I've stuck with them. Best of all, you can find the Zeiss Nettars in 6x4.5, 6x6, and 6x9 formats. As you can probably tell, these are one of my favorites types of medium format cameras since it takes up little space and you can always take it anywhere or throw it in a camera bag just in case like the quote that says "the best camera is the one that you have with you!"

@@Speedtv21 Yes you can use the 2011 screens.

If the car is brand new. If it's over 5 years old, there's much better options out there like Valvoline Maxlife synthetic fluid.
Just received my 1987 production Kiev 60 kit but without a cold flash attachment. Shutter still functions after almost forty years but some leatherette will need to be reglued. Though I intend to use it in daylight conditions, a fill flash may be useful for portraits. Despite comments on other video reviews, the camera doesn't seem very heavy or noisy. Thanks for posting the excellent idea of printing a flash attachment. 🙂

Do you happen to know if the Morimoto Mini D2S fit these Honda pilots? I put in my 2003 Pilot and neither the ACME you used here or the D2S show up. If the D2S don't work I'll go with the ACME since you did it.

As always, you post very informative videos for photography as well as auto enthusiasts.😊
@@robertcuny934 I love using my Kiev 6C / 60 as much as my Kiev 88. Thankfully they're easier to CLA or work on if need be. I had mine refurbished by Arax a few years ago for ~$500 but I've shot well over 60+ rolls of film and the camera still works perfectly and I don't doubt it'll last about 20+ years with careful use. I personally would stay away from the German Zeiss lenses for the Kiev 60 as I've owned many of them and had nothing but problems with them from the focusing to aperture problems. The Soviet lenses are the way to go with this camera. I appreciate your comments and hope you stay tuned for more camera and automotive videos to come in the near future!

Similar viewfinders. The 1DX has boxes for focusing rather than red focus dots on the 1D IV. The whole viewfinder lights up red for illuminating the boxes but is much worse than the 1D IV imo.
