Dragon sheild ones are tooo tight and defor. The cars
Vintage is up 10x from pre-2020 boom and bring up more and more for 1st editions. Values are definitely going up before they go down for good
I also started buying boxes and packs for my sealed collection and so far it’s great
if you want to make money go for 10s but if you like the cards for yourself go for 9s. Also 9 can be tunred into 10s sometimes.
Is the perfect sleeves and magnetic for onepiece tcg?
Sorry, I’m not sure of the exact size and dimensions for onepiece. I think they are the same size as Pokemon but I could be wrong. Maybe just make sure the size of the sleeve you are buying will fit the card.
Cool stuff! It will be helpful to provide more data about the stores like the name or location
Thanks for the tips!! Unfortunately, I accidentally stumbled upon some of these stores and didn’t keep a good record of the location 😕. Noted for next time!
I do the same thing! Chase cards (personal collection) psa 9s and if it too much I go to Japanese cards and grab them psa 9
That’s a good strategy! What kind of cards do you buy in 9s?
hi where was the 2nd shop? with the slabs
Hi sorry, I can’t remember
Even though i collect modern and love it for the art. Vintage aint going nowhere and the biggest issue with modern is the population of cards. Even though moonbreon is an amazing card still it has so many of them in psa10. Thats what i fear will deminish the modern in the future..
Thanks for checking out the video and yes, agree with you. The modern alt arts are great for sure - no doubt about that. But collectors nowadays know the sleeve cards right out of the pack and they know to grade chase cards. However, for vintage cards, the same sentiment wasn’t there so not only was the print runs shorter but I could imagine the condition was not kept as well.
wow look at that haul haha! looks amazing. miss japan a lot
Haha yeah, me too! Already wanting to go back 😂

Thank you! W username
Just bought the silver for $170 PSA 10! I call that a win!
That's a nice win! Congrats!!
Hi! I'm new to collecting pokemon cards. I totally agree with your takes on vintage vs modern. Modern NM condition cards would satisfy the most common collecting purpose being owning mint copies of cards that you like. I would even go out and say you don't necessarily need to have the modern cards graded to enjoy them. On the vintage side, I would prefer graded 9s and 10s depending on how much gap between the prices. If i really have sentimental attachment to certain pokemon, i would consider paying the premium for psa 10s because the vintage 9s and 10s are really the lucky ones survived through history. And vintage 9s are definitly valuable even tho there are 10s that exist.
Hey, thanks for your comment! Yes, you're absolutely right that cards don't always need to be graded to enjoy it. With regards to vintage, I think one really important peace of mind aspect of getting graded copies is knowing that you have an authentic and "non-inked" card. I get paranoid at times when spending hundreds - thousands of dollars on raw cards especially if it could an inked/marked card to make it look in better condition than it is (ie. blue marker ink on the back to hide whitening). Hence, getting a guaranteed mint 9 has always been my play for vintage cards. I wish I could shovel out the money for a 10 for some of the cards I'm interested in but for those middle era cards that I'm collecting, that difference is often 2 - 4k /card which is just a bit outrageous for my wallet. Plus, I have trouble believing that PSA is consistent enough to reproduce a 10 grade (ie. if you cracked a vintage 10 out and resubmit it, I think there is a good chance it may get a 9). They use human graders which always adds a layer of subjectivity which I don't like especially if I'm paying thousands for a difference of 1 grade. Just my two cents but thanks for checking out my video!
@@TCGCollector Love your channel and down to earth attitude!
Thank you and appreciate it greatly!
Thank you so much!
No problem! Hopefully it was helpful :)
Are magnetic cases best for Yu-Gi-Oh cards, too? Them being smaller cards makes me wonder
They should work for YuGiOh as well but they might be a smaller sized magnetic case since the cards are smaller. I think as long as your have an inner sleeve, the cases should work fine too!
Thank you
Start collecting PSA 1s of your PSA 9s. 9 + 1 = 10. Easy profit. 🤣
lol that’s a big brain move!
Loved the video! I exclusively collect ex through HGSS. I completely agree that it's imperative to focus and collect what you enjoy. I've fined tuned my collection and sold a lot the past few years but honestly it only makes me appreciate the cards I decide to keep more. You don't need to buy everything and you shouldn't put that kind of pressure on yourself. I have an Arcanine ex legend maker in a PSA 10 English and PSA 10 Japanese and I don't feel the need to buy other Arcanine cards. I feel like contentment is something everyone needs a reminder of from time to time. I'm grateful for what I have.
Thank you and that’s very well articulated. I’m glad you found what you enjoy the most since it did take me a while to start focusing down on what I enjoyed the most in this hobby. And yes, totally agree with you on contentment - there’s way too many things to collect in this hobby and combine that with everyone on social media showing off their collections, it’s definitely hard to not get distracted. Thanks for sharing 🥂
Good luck with your pc goal! Us wotc kids that went back to master what we had as kids was cake. There are so many wotc cards out there. Its gunna be a bit more a challenge for you ex kids. You got this just take your time!
Haha, thanks! Appreciate the comment :). It is quite a challenge for sure but that’s what keeps the hobby fun! Good luck on your pc goals as well.
I think 9 are nice when 10's are exponentially more expensive, like xy evolution, I'm working on completing a psa 10 set of hidden fate sv and psa 9 evolution
That’s a good strategy as well! I think especially given that PSA is grading based on human graders, there definitely quite a lot of subjectivity that goes into it. I think especially if I’m buying a 10 that costs so much more, it would be more reassuring to know it’s a “true” 10.
I agree, I think for personal collection I'd rather have more cards as I like looking at a bunch of different cards. Nice to see the desk back!
haha, thanks man! Glad to be back at the desk with my hands as the main characters lol. Btw, are you going to the Bossa show in Langley next month?
@@TCGCollector hahha not sure yet... but it's tempting to see all those canucks there! What about you? BTW let me know what you're collecting/missing for your master set I can take a look around
haha, yes! I am planning on going Sunday :). And thanks, that's nice of you. Currently, just starting with DP era cards and maybe 151? How's your legendary collection master set going?
@@TCGCollector I got lots of 151 commons if you want! legendary collection is a bit expensive so might take a break on that one lol
Thanks! I'll let you know what I'm missing and can trade you something in exchange :). Appreciate it man
horrible. sleeving cards this way will get them scratched up in no time.
Show me how you would do it then!
Very nice! Last week I found a Gym Challenge (2000) Koga holo in one of these 'bulk' bags. I'd say its only moderately played condition too! Wild seeing the bags near you at $7.99. My local prices them at $3.99.
Wow, congrats!! That is a sick find!! Sometimes it's more than $7.99 now!! I've found some Pokemon card binders and loose cards before but they really overprice it :/. You should check out my other video which I actually found some vintage holos and not just mainly bulk like this video lol
Alright funny enough I have been trying to try my luck and see if I can still find pokemon cards in trift stores and haven't had any luck so far
It took me a few times lol but definitely quite luck based! Also, a lot of theft happens with these cards
@TCGCollector yeah in my case the closest trift store is goodwill and those sell the cards on auction I did once found an empty tin so I guess that's something no cards though but I'll keep looking. Maybe I can try my luck at a flea market 🤔 I have seen others before getting lucky so may as well try there aswell
Yup, that’s a good option. Sometimes if you can catch a restock, that might be your best chance
@TCGCollector yeah that is a good option and I can enjoy some nice iced drinks for the day
I think your method helps to enjoy collecting much more. People should understand that a vintage PSA 9 collection means 5x or 10x more cards than a PSA 10 collection.
Thanks! Yeah, I feel like the majority of collectors wouldn’t agree with me but I’ve made the decision to have more variety rather than more 10s
@@TCGCollector yeah, if you ask "Do you want five 9's or one 10?" I think that forces people to better think about this.
Yeah, exactly. Sure the 10 looks “nice” and is more pleasing as a “perfect” grade but the fact is that many vintage 10s are not reproducible.
Imo Mini snaps from Japan are most pleasing, one touches are unaesthetic with the excess plastic and magnet on top. Toploaders best budget tho
Never heard of mini snaps! Will have to check it out, thanks! But yeah toploaders are probably the cheapest option
@@TCGCollector the one toucher are better tho. mini snaps are a bit flimsy. But they do protect the card well enough and are aesthetic imo. I just order 50 pieces from temu for 25 euros. So they are cheaper than one touches but not as cheap as toploaders
@@TCGCollector ultra pro mini snaps are nice but more expensive than the Chinese japanese ones. Gamenetics has nice slide cases, similar to mini snaps
Interesting, how are you planning on storing it?
Did you buy from a specific person or place your psa 9 primes, I’m collecting primes and thinking of switching from raw to graded
I usually just go for whatever the best deal is. So it’s a combination of different places (eBay, game stores, or conventions).
So basically you just mail it as if you’re sending a letter in the mail? No special type of label?
Exactly! The only downside is there’s no tracking unless you purchase it beforehand or go to the post office and get them to print you a a label.
By any chance, did you see a black Pikachu luggage there?
I didn’t recall! I believe there were pikachu luggage at the donki store!
I just did a submission for GameStop they were all minty copies but for the first I kinda just pushed it in do you think that has no chance of being a 10 now..😅
Ah, depends on how bad it was actually. If it’s a noticeable indent in the card, PSA is pretty harsh with it. But if there’s no damage, it may be ok
@@TCGCollector I think they'll be fine hopefully I don't like card savers though 😂
Did the same thing
@@slickback2772 lmao it's good to know I'm not the only one!
Didn't know there were sleeves for graded cards. Guess there's a sleeve for a sleeve for a sleeve 😄
Haha, yes the amount of plastic really builds up in this hobby!
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
Great video! Is it okay to use a team bag for your toploader or do I risk getting moist in my cards when I do this?
Thanks! Appreciate you for checking out the video! I think it's fine to team bag your cards and I actually do that myself. I think the team bag doesn't create such a tight seal that water would be trapped inside so I think you should be fine!
@@TCGCollector Appreciate the response. Thank you!
Good luck!
I'm going to Japan and I want to know where the place is called. Thanks!
Sorry I don’t think I remember. I remember it was underneath a dog cafe since I kind of stumbled upon it by accident
thanks for the tips i like the penny sleeve upside down one way and then the other so nothing falls in it very good idea
Thanks for checking out the video! Let me know if you have any other questions :)
Great video, TCG Collector. Looking forward to seeing your next upload from you. I smashed that thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the awesome work! It's interesting how the market for bulk cards has evolved; do you think collectors are becoming more selective, or is there still a strong demand for mystery lots?
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the kind comment :). I think definitely the older collectors market the be more selective in purchasing cards that have more “significance” to them. This may be cards from their childhood or cards that have more chase; thus, it’s likely these cards are also more rarer/pricer. That being said, I think there will always be a market for mystery lots. Since standard pokemon product comes in packs, I think people inherently enjoy the gambling aspect of the hobby
Tcg korean pokemon center? Korean have are pokemon center or not😅❤🇰🇷
This is in Japan! I don’t think Korea has one
😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you!!!
Im going to Pokemon Center Taipei next week. I have a question. Do you need to get a ticket to enter? or does it still have a long line before you enter? I just want to maximize my time before going.
Nope, no ticket required to enter nor was there a long line. Just get up to the floor and walk in
My understanding is, unless it's a weekend or a known holiday, most weekdays no longer need the ticket system
That huge Togepi was so cute! Need to see if I can find one when I go in a couple of months.
Haha, good luck and have fun on your trip :). It’s super fun in Japan
damn going on a pokemon center speed run :D pretty cool to see the Taipei store
Haha this is the last one! Feel like everyone is tired of seeing it xD. Thanks for checking it out man
Bud I am the first comment and I will get Pokémon cards
bruh
I’ve tried gamegenic inners and penny sleeve outer
Then put in top loader, some may say overkill but I say I’m passionate lol
lol I’ve never tried that brand of inners before? Is it better than the more common ones (dragonshield or kmc)? Good for you man
@@TCGCollector the game genic inners are actually the first inners I’ve tried, but so far they feel really nice
As long as they are acid free, they should be fine. I only worry about some of the cheaper brands as their sleeves may be more susceptible to degradation and can lead to damage to your cards
darn how did I miss this video! cant believe those cards in the 2nd store weren't sleeved lol. nice pick ups!
Haha no worries. Yeah, a lot of nice cards but I guess those are relatively common in Japan? Love the smaller cities where you can still find something decently priced 😂
I prefer PSA 9 over raw, I like the peace of mind that it's authentic in great condition
Exactly, the only exception for me is if it’s super modern then maybe I’ll opt for a raw copy since a lot of them have a higher chance of getting a 10. Otherwise anything older than Sun and Moon, I would just get the 9 instead.
Hi there! What do you do when you find thousands of your old Pokemon cards, have little to no knowledge of value let alone time and energy to sell them individually online (unless they are higher end rare or holo cards).. grading seems a little risky and expensive, is it risky to sell on marketplace, and or are their trustworthy people to take your cards to in person that will sort theough them and give you a decent profit? I have no interest in selling pokemon cards full time just want them gone and not to be totally jipped by letting them go if that makes sense.. Thanks ahead of time 🙏
Hey! Thanks for checking out the video. Totally understandable. There’s definitely quite a few videos on this if you search up something like “how to determine the value of Pokémon cards”. Usually you can look this info up by typing in your card name and the little number at the bottom of your card on eBay and see if there’s any sold listings for that item. Alternatively, with the eBay app, you can search by uploading a picture of the card. That could give you a rough estimate of how much you should expect. This way, you at least know the value of the cards. There are some trustworthy people that can see your cards or I believe even grade your cards for you and then sell it on your behalf. Definitely worth doing some research!
Can u repair or clean up older cards for grading? This that a thing?
People have been able to remove bigger dust/debris from cards but some are also able to polish the holo which is often scratched. But I think these cards are a bit beyond saving - especially the holo hits we got
Why do I keep seeing these? I don't even PlAY pokemon and have never bought a single card - the ONE card I have is the Pikachu movie one that the theaters gave to people - and I don't even know why I kept it lol to me, their designs are too childish to enjoy - this was true even growing up in the 90s - but to each their own. (as for why I went to see the Pikachu movie, I was bored, I felt like going out to a movie, and it looked more fun than the others) - but yeah, I wouldn't know a $1000 Pokemon card from a 1 cent one. *shrug* just pieces of cardboard to me.
lol not sure what to say but sure they’re just cartoon drawings designed for kids but the nostalgia is just too strong for myself. The hunt for rarity is what really keeps me going as an adult now and many people are coming back to the hobby trying to collect cards they used to have or never had the chance to own when they were younger. Never thought I be pulled back into the hobby but it’s been fun for myself personally!
Those where the days
Yeah :). Super nostalgic for sure!
wow don't know how you find them! I've been looking around too and I haven't see any pokemon cards 😂
Haha keep looking! Really just gotta get lucky but I often see a lot of those cards being stolen. Be sure to also check the counter where they store more valuable items. I’ve been disappointed quite a few times though because sometimes they’re way overpriced (eg. a few commons and uncommons in a binder costing $50)
Knowing its value village you best have stole those
lol why would I steal those?
@@TCGCollector value village is backed by private equity and they make record profits year after year off insane price market ups and have for almost a decade now. Their donations to non profits is based off of single digit cents/lb of donated goods they choose to acquire. They make massive profits and chose to over charge for used goods. Tl;dr I be stealin from them because they’re stealing from us
@@TCGCollectori think its because value village has been overpricing like everything recently
