Very interesting video. The Self flagelation or self-induced SM by LBGT+ or - (wo)men is making life unnecessary miserabele. Not intelligent way to live your life. Just become yourself, we are all mortal.

LBGT+ or - people shouldn't complain so much. Just make something of your life, being gay or not. Be authentic yourself, don't be a boring human being.

Personally I've always loved sad gay movies. I love reading or watching tragedies, and I'm not into lighthearted stuff or fluffy/comedy. I find it better than now theres more variety of gay content but I hate it when people criticize on sad gay content, you can not like it, but leave it be for those who want to consumme it 🙄

What does queer mean? Gay? Transgender heterosexual man or woman? Bisexual woman in a heterosexual relationship? Pansexual man married to a woman? Like wtf is up with these umbrella terms that don't even encapsulate the individual experiences of a certain group? Stop with the queer shit, it's annoying. Give people the dignity of their respective experiences instead of queer lazy ideology that conforms everyone into some monolithic experience which couldn't be further from the truth.

I think about this video so often. First of all, you laying down in bed with the occasional Grindr notification is genius. And of course the content is amazing. I tend to lean towards queer misery quite often, and everything was beautifully said. I once talked to my friend about how the show Heartstopper felt so sickly sweet and perfect, and they responded with “because the characters in your shows are always in peril”, which gave me a laugh. I should send that friend this video

I don’t know if I would put queen in the category of a queen queer or person for that matter she was indeed strangely close or wonderfully close with her assistant I think it’s more of an experimental thing for her. She had already buried 17 children.

I enjoyed your appearance on the bechdel cast episode and had to come see this video for myself. Imagining the adventure genre as shifting to feature native people recovering their own heritage is so wonderful. We have so much to learn from surviving cultures and past ones buried by colonizing violence. The world may be well charted in this era but the vastness of human knowledge and history provides us with more to explore than can fit in a human lifespan.

man, this is an amazing essay. i feel this so hard. never had any draw to pride or queer joy media. because i've never experienced gay pride as a lesbian. because my community growing up rejected homosexuality as a sin. het comp, all that. being gay in my mind has always been my struggle. and i'm at peace with that. and i love my partner and our little gay life. and misery is okay to experience.

Este monarca ya esta en sus años viejos, y decide hacer un concurso para escoger a su sucesor. Solo conocemos a su hija adoptiva la "Tercera Promesa" quien nos cuenta que hay rumores que el concurso involucrará encontrar "La Ciudad de Oro," la cual es una leyenda local. Nunca usan el término El Dorado pero es claro que viene de eso, y hacerlo un rumor que no nace de extranjeros ya es una inversión total del concepto. Ver este video me ayuda a pensar en como pudieron haber llegado a la idea de la verdad de ese rumor

We have to take into account that an Oscar bid is a very expensive and calculated operation and since most truly great LGBTQ films are indie and arthouse, the money for the Academy screening alone is $12500 if the film is not released early enough and average PR and campaign budget to position a multi Oscar picture is $3-5m. 2. There is great queer cinema that got snubbed, but although I love LGBTQ film as a gay man, I can’t say I agree on feeling underrepresented. Only because members of the academy are lgbtq or a film has queer aspects will not determine whether it holds up against the incredible competition. And I hardly think this is how to measure representation, recognition or the quality of the body of work of queer people in film and their stories.

I don't usually comment on videos but this video hit me particularly hard and I tried calling my mother to tell her about the fact that I'm a lesbian. I ended up texting her after the call to let her know. I wish that I could say that she had a good reaction, she didn't, it didn't come from a place of homophobia but from a place of our relationship being broken way before I even decided to do this. In a way maybe it's a good thing that when I look back on this I'll have this video, which is genuinely a really good video, to look back on.

Not saying it was award winning story telling by any means, but the thing that love Victor got right especially over love Simon was that it gave a real depiction of coming out and your family not being cool with it. Sure it wasn't over the top, but the best part of the show was seeing the family realize the expectations they had for their presumably "straight" son were never going to happen, and figure out how to accept that and move on. The petty highschool drama was honestly the thing dragging the show down the most.
