I imagine it's cheaper to pull the data from D7 lead finder than using Clay credits? Also, the elephant in the room here as far as I can see is (1) a tiny percentage of email addresses were found here and (2) no clay tutorials ever tell us the rough clay credit cost range of finding say 1000 clean ready to send local leads using a clay template like this?

cheapinboxes or inboxlogy are good companies to buy your inboxes from and they take care of all this setup for you.

fairly new agency owner in digital marketing space (web design for photography niche currently), been following you for months though. super used to watching longform podcasts and other videos that deep dive into random topics, haha. always appreciate your content Eric! loved learning the tactics and your strategy with using AI for cold emails, majority of the ideas were new besides the common stuff. question, so you and your colleagues haven't used the newer, expensive GPT-o1-preview yet in your workflows? i stay on top of a lot of AI news, and the interesting thing about that model is not only its improved reasoning, but that *shorter* prompts work better, rather than the tree-of-thought strategies and think step-by-step approaches to prompting. any thoughts for that? or is using that model just prohibitively expensive compared to using mini to bother testing so far?

I agree-while the intent differs between CRO and email marketing, the underlying psychological drivers of behavior stay the same. So, while a small tweak to a CTA might influence conversions, the impact is usually too minor to reach statistical significance, making it less valuable to test compared to other, more meaningful optimizations. I think at its core, email marketing is still "marketing." Human psychology doesn’t change; it’s just the context that shifts, what you might call “message-market fit.”

Do you use mailmeteor's spam checker? It says words like "LEGAL loophole" and "financial" are spam filter triggers. Do you avoid those words or just don't care about them? Another one is "free" as in "Feel free to reach out"... Do you avoid that word in that phrase as well?
