Heartland HOT ASH Cindy Busby authentically shares with Jeffery Ford
Heartland star Cindy Busby played the iconic Ashley a.k.a. HOT ASH on the long running CBC series that has been on the air since 2007. Cindy Busby perfectly portrayed the elitist, hyper competitive Ashley in a manner that gave Heartland some hearty conflict and some serious edge. Cindy’s character Ashley is frequently referred to as HOT ASH because that is what Ashley had on her vanity license plates.
Cindy Busby has appeared in a plethora of other television shows, movies and she recently starred in the 2020 Netflix Australia movie titled, Romance on the Menu.
I’m truly grateful for the time Cindy Busby took to make this Cameo for me and look forward to seeing her in many, many more movies and television shows in the years to come as she continues to build her stellar career!

    Hello Mr. Ford I watched you on my tv so am now here to ask you a question. First I absolutely needed to hear your message and will watch it more than once I am sure. Secondly, this is in no way intended to be criticism but a sincere question. Am I misreading your Mensa certificate? From here it looks like it says "....qualified for & become a Member of Mensa". Should it read 'qualified to become' or qualified for and became? I don't know if you already answered this question as I could not go through the many comments to this video. Thank you for truly generous advice. Reina

    IQ is something a lot of people are insecure about, I just see it as one of the many defining qualities of a human being. I can become a member of Mensa but I don't really care to meet a bunch of people who make it their identity that they are a member. My stepfather was A member, a chess player and a self proclaimed philosopher, I had a lot of fights with him because he was always trying to unfairly debate me on something where there was a huge knowledge gap while I was trying to eat my dinner in peace. In the end my mom broke up with him because he is insufferable, although he framed that as my mom being intellectually inferior, because of course he did.

    How come you believe that people can't increase their IQ up to your level? What do you mean when you say you have to bring your level of thought down to theirs and they can never bring their level of thought up to yours?

      I believe you are referring to our needing to adjust our levels of expressed intelligence when conversing with others. We need to accept people where they are at the moment. Think of Aristotle's Law of Identity (a thing is itself.) Some people lack the reasoning and processing ability to grasp certain subjects and conclusions no matter how much you try to assist them. That could be due to general intelligence, limited knowledge base in the subject at hand, or far too often cognitive dissonance as well. Hope that helps and I wish you the very best in life!

    Notes (Disclaimer: English is not my 1st language): The speecher has IQ in the 99.9 percentile and he believes that: -IQ can be almost always raised since the external context we grow up in is far from perfect. - to raise IQ you need a good foundation: - how to listen = arguing comes often from not listening to others. To be a good listener be active (i.e. shut down the internal voices in your head and ask questions). Through listening we can "steal" technical experience of people, so do it. While listening, suspend judgement (often the speaker justify a statement after he has made it, so let him explain to have a better idea of what is being said). Take notes (e.g. while talking with the doctor). -how to read INTELLIGENTLY= for everything you read consider always the source. Consider the age and the context in which the author is writing (age, historical phase, geography, gender). Ask yourself who published the material. Think about the date of publishing. -attention span= you want a good attention span because a good working memory it's a prerequisite for high level thougths. To do this: learn to be comfortable both in company and while alone (to do that you can create a good environment). Also, you need to have a very special interest where you reach a state of flow. Then apply this state of flow capacity to other things. -Diet= know how different foods affect you. Mental syntax= it is necessary to develop higher level thoughts. You need good grammar skills to think better. Vocabulary= most people think in words. The more nuanced your vocabulary the better your thoughts. Music & Math= both help develop mental syntax. Those 2 combined with language skills give you a very solid foundation Environment= you need a place where you can stay at peace with yourself (inside or outside your house). Give yourself time to daydream (the foundation of invention) and a space where you can hear your thoughts (society always wants to tell us what to think, learn to listen to yourself) Other people= get involved with other people as they know yhings that you don't. People change people. Great books= read great books . If you read good grammar you learn good grammar. Music= listen to classical music. Not all music is good for your mind. Museums= go to museums.

    I find it ironic that child members of Mensa are universally celebrated for their intellectual prowess - favorably depicted on television and in social media - but adult Mensa members are frequently characterized as feckless nerds and pretentious narcissists. At what age does being a member of Mensa cease being socially acceptable? 🤔

    • @jefferyford5309
      @jefferyford5309 6 днів тому

      Insecure instructors and contentious bullies make being socially accepted as a child/young adult pretty difficult (if not nearly impossible) at times but I get and agree with your overall meaning. Many members of Mensa actually hide their membership from the people they work with, family and friends. It's sad.

    2:50 That is a perfect way of explaining it, people are all “capped.” People with high IQ’s are capped higher, so we have to be a bit “phony,” or however you want to put it. If you don’t “dumb yourself down,” a bit you will seem like a “smart ass,” or however you want to put that, so you are damed if you do and danced if you don’t, that’s a “paradox,” by the way. You may have just learned something but in a group of people I’d be considered a dork, pedantic or possibly just annoying- hence the knowledge wouldn’t have been spread. With a lot of stuff this “dumbing down,” can have more detrimental effects on society as well as the person him or herself. When you leave the Bill curve either to the left or right things get a bit more difficult, life is set up for average intelligence, obviously it’s just math.

    Hello, I want to add quick introduction: When I first started learning science, and that was without school begin only 100% self learning; I was self aware of my abilities. That was when I was 13, and I noticed to only play the game correctly, is to learn its mechanics. Learning to think is important! This is possible due to neuroplasticity, and youre going to know it once you achieve it. Although, I got a brain injury by acidentally hitting my self in the head which I think I have lost some of my cognitive abilites from it, and I hate that day till of my life.

    • @jefferyford5309
      @jefferyford5309 3 місяці тому

      Thank you for the introduction. I have a lot of respect for self-learners because I'm largely an autodidact (self learner) myself. Learning on my own saves A LOT of time and allows me the freedom to take my learnings in whatever directions that I choose without being held back by too many preconceived notions that I simply don't find valid. Most people aren't interested in self learning because they were taught early in life to simply regurgitate whatever their authority figures told them to say and do in their homes, schools, churches, workplace, whatever. In other words - many people never fully mature and go their own unique way. I wish you all the best with your life, health and finding meaning and joy along your path. Thank you for sharing your experiences with everyone. These things are important. Take care.

      I'm not surprised and congratulations on carving out such an accomplished life. Have you noticed that so many people have a false perception of even what intelligence basically entails even in our groups? I've largely stopped trying to discuss it with people. It's not even that tough of a concept but even in the TNS I've seen that argument take place far too many times and it simply bores me now. People use the same old arguments over and over again (on many issues) and believe they are having an intellectual conversation with one another without offering much (if any) of their own unique thoughts). I'm not as active nowadays in these groups simply because I'd rather follow my own path and don't require or even desire too much input or the approval of the tribe. I'd rather have peace, enjoy nature, and simply enjoy truly being me. I hope you're enjoying your journey. Be well.

      @@jefferyford5309 I thank you for taking the time to respond to me in such a nuanced way. Quite honestly, I haven’t spent much time learning what people in the various high/ultra-high IQ groups think, about anything. I’ve scanned enough TNS Facebook comments to know that many members spend an inordinate amount of time arguing about matters that are of little interest to me. I’m confident that the majority of these people are civil human beings outside of the forums, but I decline the “opportunity” to be pulled into internecine bickering about group governance.
