Why would vw think thats a good place to put an ecu?
@@michaelhorsman3380 absolutely mad, plus the wiring loom seal is awful!
@JLMTAuto shame it can't get put elsewhere
Finally, this is the type of device I've been looking for! I refuse to download some sketchy, unofficial app.
Any updates on how your getting on with these? I need a set of decent discs & pads all round for my jaguar xfr, im tempted with mtec but sone of their customer services reviews are quite poor 💩
I actually sold the S5 not long after, but previously with my S4 I ran MTEC brakes for around 10k with no complaints :)
Does the puddle light stay on when car is moving?
No just when the car is unlocked / locked
Maynard Square
How come you chose the dimpled and groved disc over the drilled and groved ?
@@tejzino1598 I liked the aesthetic of a drilled disc but wanted to avoid any potential risk of cracking if I took the S5 to a track day.
$167 usd for this!?!?
If you consider the price of a new head unit and the effort to replace some of these newer systems that are full integrated then $167 is pretty inexpensive!
It’s more comfortable from the new kodiaq? Which one do you recommend?
@@israelgabay792 I unfortunately haven’t driven the new kodiaq yet, but they are on the same platform with I expect the same suspension setup. Between the kodiaq & allspace it boils down the spec, brand & design preference. If you want comfort make sure you go for the smaller wheels
Cant believe you are spraying without a mask, it says on the tin irs poison.
does drill disce make noise?
@@kashifhussnain7456 drilled won’t make any noticeable noise over factory and in fact some cars come from the factory with drilled discs! Grovved you will be able to hear a difference
What did you use to keep the hangers in the rubber mine keeps popping out as the don’t have a lip on
@@joshwalton5203 mine seems to stay in place, couple of options though. 1 option - cut 2mm in to the hanger about 15mm in from the end, heat up and bend 2nd option is to use a small jubilee on the end to stop the rubber slipping off (bit of a bodge but it should work!)
@@JLMTAutothank you for the help I will try that today the original boxes have a bevelled end to stop it sliding back off the rubber but my delete kit is perfectly round and keeps slipping out
Just a Peugeot chill
Much nicer
Is this strictly for automatic?
For manuals as well - my S5 is a manual :)
I’ve been seriously debating this for my Golf R. How’s the stop and go acceleration with this?
@@brianlenny4918 the actual acceleration difference of your are foot flat is next to nothing but it’s the responsiveness a part throttle where you feel a big difference
@@JLMTAuto i ordered it, I'll see how it is hopefully i like it.
ive got a Tiguan allspace elegance on order coming September this as put my mind at rest
when did you order it? :) we are waiting too...
Let’s be totally honest, the biggest benefit is they look better. Never seen a drill disc on a serious racing vehicle.
Because they’re obsolete. Not needed.
@@qasimmir7117 interesting is that in every class of Motorsport

Double side griller tape works wonders.. mine come off after a heavy bit of rain..
Just done this myself on my mk6 after watching this! Video was a great help, made it alot easier todo, Thanks!
Cheers Kelvin! Such an inexpensive and easy upgrade 👌🏼
Rather get an older xc90
I’ve pulled the cable of the off my heated mirror element, can you do a short on how to reconnect them???
When you say you pulled the cable off do you mean you snapped the element from the mirror?
on my mk7, all you have to do is pop out the mirror glass with a flathead and put them where they belong.
Amazing 🤩

Loved the video! I’ve got a 2017 Tiguan R line and I’m so jealous of your light interior!! Heated rear seats are the one, something I searched high and low for!
Thanks Will! 2017 models were a great year for the Tiguan. I genuinely would never of picked a light interior but after having one I really miss it since handing the car back!
Are those discs on the right way around?!🤔
They always look the wrong way but MTEC give you a guide plus the discs are marked up to make sure you get it right!
@@JLMTAuto that's interesting thanks, I've just bought the exact same discs for my Impreza and there's no Left or Right marking on them... Thanks for the reply👍🏻👌🏻
@@Harryjones05 ah that’s odd, did you get the guide with each disc? No worries happy to help!
@@JLMTAutono guide in the boxes at all and the discs weren't marked...🤔 I've since seen that if the internal cooling vanes are straight like the mtec discs are, it's supposedly not an issue which way the dimples and grooves rotate... Whether it's true or not I'm not sure...🤷🏼♂️😅
@@Harryjones05 I think the only thing it will effect is the noise under braking and how the layer of pad is ejected out - just found this www.mtecbrakes.com/brake_disc_fitting_bedding_in

How much should it cost roughly to get a tank pump replaced roughly do you know, ? Thank you!
If you’re doing it yourself about £100 ($120), if you plan on getting a garage to do the work it shouldn’t be more than 2 hours labor 👍🏼 Hope this helps!
You keeping the gti?
For now 😉
My fuel pump just went aswell. Audi is currently replacing it for me :(
It’s a common issue on 3.0 engines
@@tryhardxxxx9562 4.2 v8 for me
How much did they charge to fix it?
@@rickymcd15 sadly, on average the cost I’m getting is around 2k however. It’s such an easy thing to replace the parts are expensive but no where near 1000$ each HPFP, so I found two in the used market and swapped it out and bam, 400$ fixed and working oerfectly
did the muffler delete by zaustworx come like that with the clamps? or did you modify it to fit better.
It was delivered with the clamps :)
That mk6 splitter is VERY similar to a company on aliexpress, but its £48 🤔
I wouldn’t know - but either way it’s very affordable compared with a lot of companies selling similar. Plus, I know a lot of people that wouldn’t be happy importing from china even if the price is a little less 👌🏼
@JLMTAuto my splitter is from aliexpress...most of my car "mods" are aliexpress 😀 all very good quality.
Nice! What will you do with the peugeot next?
Peugeot has been sold due to needing some funds 😢 but I have a great future project coming up!
Jesus, 1300 quid, i got mine stock, not sport at all, for 100 quid less 😅 Do you know what wheels are on? Looking forward to watching the rest of the series, I plan on doing the same stuff
It’s amazing how affordable such a capable little car these are! I think they were team dynamics - cheers buddy!
good stuff & nice gti! couple tipps to take it to the next level: tape off breaks (and maybe upper body if you have the patience/material), beware that anything that gets hot (exhaust, motor area) is a no go for the simple sprays as they will melt off / over heat / create strong smells... there is specialiced spray for that. oh, and tape off any sensors. some people also take off the wheelbase protection and spray under that (often rusty as it gets dirty/wet/rustry despite the protection).
Cheers! Some really good builds there that I hadn’t considered. I tried to avoid the high heat areas (well at least directly) but there will be always overspray. I didn’t actually film it, but I did get some to pull back the arch liners and get some protection sprayed down. Definitely needs a dedicated weekend of preparation to really get the car ready!
thanks for the review! was leaning towards jb4 bc it can get a bit more power from my s58 engine but now after seeing this, I think ill go race chip piggyback and pair it with their XLR. It seems from this review it'll feel quicker and be more responsive than it would with just a jb4 piggyback.
No worries! I’d like to one day do a back to back of both - I agree I think the RaceChip combination would give you that extra response!
I only have a jack, what would be the best way for me to get clear access under my car? Did you get much spray back, just thinking if I’m under the car am I going to get covered in the seal?
You could definitely do the job with a Jack and some axle stands. I’d definitely recommend a set of small drive up ramps to make life easier. And a mask and some googles especially if you are working without a lift - spray back wasn’t bad but it is an aerosol so you need to be in an open space. Hope this helps!
I did this job with 2 small ramps to drive the front wheels up, then jack the rear up slightly higher than the front to get the car nice and high up. When the rear was up I took the wheels and arch liners out, cleaned whole underside then sprayed the next day. I got covered in spray so I would recommended overalls and safety glasses
Just about to have my first experience of grooved and drilled discs. Got a set from a reputable specialist on clearance for 40 quid. They are going on a Jeep Cherokee 3.7 petrol. The brakes are reasonable anyway but these will interesting.
Look forward to hearing your feedback - never experienced drilled and grooved on an SUV :)
Please tell me you fitted the reinforcement plates for the cage and didn't just bolt it through the floor?! One roll over and it'll just punch straight through the floor pan.....
There were plates on either side of added strength but nothing welded to the floor. It was something I’d planned on doing next but with little competitive events planned I left as is.
@@JLMTAuto it's a shame you ended the series on this car so abruptly. It'd have been good to see it in action
@nathanaelwarden I wish I had the funds to have kept on and got the car on track but had to sell and get some £ back in the bank. Would love to keep doing projects like these and even get to a point of being able to do A-B tests to see what each modification actually does to your track time!
Tempted to buy but heard bad things about them
I can only talk from my experience and both sets I’ve had were brilliant - and that’s not considering the process vs say Brembos
@@JLMTAuto what’s the noise like when driving
@MaccaIRL1 not noticeable when driving normally on open roads. If you drive past a wall with the window down you get a slight echo but nothing intrusive. Finally when braking you do get a noise in the cabin but only really noticeable under hard braking which I didn’t mind - made me realise when I was hitting the brakes hard!
Bought the auto so you can drive the boxter instead? Clever!
I would but it’s bright purple 😂
What hapoened too the car when the issue came??
I pulled onto a 70mph road and it just felt like the car had no power, then slowly came to a complete stop and wouldn’t fire back up!
@@JLMTAutodoes it crank but no fuel?
@@hunghuge7262 exactly it would crank but wouldn’t start
@@JLMTAuto ah thanks, guessed i needed to buy a fuel pump for my rs5, been sitting for a while same issue crank with no start
I guessed at 00:59 when you showed the car 😂 Love the content though always wanted one of these. Did you import it yourself? What’s the process?
I was hoping that clip was short enough people wouldn’t notice 😂 Thanks! So I actually bought it imported into the UK - the actual importing process isn’t too complicated. I did however have to register myself, again not too bad. You need the export certificate, a VIN MOT and a letter to confirm the import tax has been paid, send those off with a document that captures all the vehicle info and a cheque for 6/12months of tax and a few weeks later your Logbook and new registration arrives!
