This is one of my favourite stitches, along with colonial knots and french knots. Your clear instructions will help those who have never tried this stitch. Once mastered, as you say it is very versatile.
Sooooo,cute stitches mam
Lovely 😍
Can it be used on any fabric?
Tlhank you for the detailed instructions! I have intimidated by this stitch, but i will give it a try again more confidently thanks to you ❤❤❤
@@tricianilsson6870 hi Tricia. I am going to be working on quite a bit of filming over the next two months so if there is a particular stitch you would like me to demonstrate, just message me! Thank you for the lovely compliment! 💖
Very informative, thank you. Love your book and your kits are beautiful.!
@@Ellen-ri7lt Thanks so much, Ellen, for the kind words and compliments - I always appreciate it when someone takes the time to write to me🥰
Will you make another video with the camera closer to your hoop? It's hard to see your stitching process. ❤
You showed how to finish the rose and not how yoy started it
@@FavoriteLesLesthank you for watching my video. If you go to my beginner's video on creating a rose, you can see there how to start and finish any flower. It is always the same technique. Hope that helps. I need to add more ribbon videos🥺💖
Yes, now i see from that other video. Thank you for refering me to that one. I love your embroidery and ended up purchasing your book. Im still reading it through. I love it too!! Thank you again.
More embroidery videos using stranded floss would be wonderful. Thats the book i bought, not silk ribbon book. That will be next.
@@FavoriteLesLes Thank you for watching my videos. Yes, more videos with both floss and with ribbon are on the cards as soon as I can! Love your feedback 😍
Hello Laura, Thankyou for all your wonderful ideas.i have had your book for a few years and love it I decided to add the book you mentioned on your video “The Flower Garden Planner” it’s a great addition to your book. I got it on Amazon for $10 and it arrived in a couple of days. All so inspiring now I just have to find the time to do it all. Plus the planner with come in handy next year for my garden. Thankyou for all the detais and descriptions..look forward to the next video…Avril
Hi Avril. Thank you for the compliments. Yes, the Garden Planner is a wonderful little book if you can find a copy. I was actually gifted a second copy by an unnamed person, which was a lovely surprise and much appreciated as my first had literally fallen apart through overuse. Lucky you to find it at that bargain price too. 👋💖
😍
Beautiful and so fitting name for a beautiful studio. May you have lost of inspiration and ideas to share! Lots of love and respect from 🇺🇦! PS I'm buying your beautiful book of course and can't wait for your future projects 💕

Thank you for the lovely compliments!!🥰
Beautiful 😍
Congratulations, such a beautiful feature of your work.
I love your embroidery Art 🥰thanks for sharing
@@paulargs Thanks Paula. 😍 Hoping to do more videos shortly as I now have a proper camera stand 🌸🩷
Thankyou . Do you feed the end of thewire into cloth and let it blend in or cut off and secure on linen?
Hi Lorraine - sorry somehow I missed this so huge apologies! Create a hole in the fabric using an awl, mellor or toothpick. Feed the wire through and bend it back behind your stitching. Whip or catch into place. Hope that helps. Enjoy stitching. Lx💖
Oh my goodness, i sew and knit so this looks easy to do! I love lavender and have many plants in the garden to harvest. I make lavender bags too so this is perfect. Thank you for sharing
I just finished winding the thread pack for the country garden book! They look so pretty in my work box. I can’t wait to finish my scissor case ❤️
That's great! Hope you enjoy stitching with them. Would love to see the scissor keeper when it is done. L🥰
Not easy❤❤❤
@@yaibaibuachannel8706 it just takes a lot of practice. Once you get it it really is easy just keep plugging away!! 👍💖
@@lornabateman7002 Will try again thank you so much will do again love ❤️

Lorna - is it a figure 8 essentially?
@@DRoche911 hi Dlynn. You mean for drizzle stitch. Yes it is!! 👍
Very informative, thank you!
Glad it is of use to you and apologies for missing this comment - enjoy stitching. Lx 😍
I’ve come back repeatedly to watch this video. I do great then my fingers forget the movement and I need to watch again, and again. 😖 As always- appreciate you Miss Lorna.
@@DRoche911 hi Dlynn. It is one of the more difficult stitches so do not feel overwhelmed. Just keep practising once you have the knack of the stitch, so that it stays in your head 👍💕
Very helpful, thank you. Your videos are new to me and I am enjoying them. Will be searching your videos for different embroidery stitch tutorials.
@@melindafisher1584 thank you! I will be working on loads more from mid-July onwards! 🩷
I love your embroidery !!! it´s so beautiful
Thank you! I am very glad to hear 😊💕
Hey Lorna, it’s me, Dlynn. Haha, looks like I’m hitting you up on every social media platform tonight.. I really appreciate these detailed videos. I often wish that others would be as thorough. I really appreciate the time that you take to put this together.
@@DRoche911 Hi Dlynn. I actually need to put up many more and will be doing so after 17 July when I am back from France. Not enough hours in the day! Thank you for your lovely compliments. 👍💕
What I would do to sit and learn for Miss Lorna! What a privilege 😊

These are threads I sell from my studio. You can copy and paste the above description into Google translate and it will tell you - hope that helps 💖
Lovely
Thank you😍
Thank you Lorna for this video. I love it when a person instructs instead of just making a video.
Pleasure! And thank you for the compliment. My goal always is to teach as that is my first love👍🥰
Just ordered the book and Bees Knees scissor and needle minder. I’m new at this art form but IM SO INSPIRED! 💐🪡🧵🐝✂️🌹 I’m nervous but at 64 years old- the time is now!! 👵🏻 wish me luck and patience!
Thanks, Dlynn! I am always at the end of an email if you are stuck with anything. No need to be nervous. You receive a doodle cloth with the book so use it to practise and enjoy stitching! 🧵🩷
I am brand new at embroidery- but I have thought about having a doodle cloth because it’s in my nature to freestyle and everything that I do, painting photography… I find that thinking outside the box is freeing to me.
Yes they work so well and in themselves can become works of art so get going... the more you do, the more the ideas flow!! Just wish there were more hours in the day. Lorna❣
Miss Lorna- you are simply wonderful to watch, listen and learn from! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! 💕😊
Whatever this is, I’m looking at is everything that I dream I can do one day. I actually got teary-eyed because I am struggling with just the basics right now, but I’m 64 years old and I got a late start. these items are so beautiful. I hope I can achieve this.
Aw, what a beautiful comment! It is never too late to start and you will get there. I have had many students only start one they have retired and have done some of the most exquisite work - just try to do half an hour each day so that you get into a rhythm and it is not overwhelming. Relax and enjoy the process. 💕
Puffy flowers! That’s my goal. I’m just starting and there’s so much to take in. But puffy flowers 💐 YES!
You have been all over my site!! Thank you! Lots to learn so try all the techniques and you will find your favourites!😍
I’m just starting out on this embroidery journey and I have to tell you I am excited and overwhelmed with all the possibilities. Overwhelmed with how to store and organize my flosses and how the heck do I do a bouillon stitch? I’m definitely gonna be small scale because I have a small house but seeing how you organize and work is very inspirational! Thank you for sharing
Slow but sure and you'll get there! Enjoy the journey 👍🥰
Great idea,Thank uou Lorna
Thanks Marie Paule! Just makes things easier .🩷
So helpful, especially the ingenious idea of the doodle cloth .Thank you .
Doodle cloths are just the best ! They allow free reign to experiment and are wonderful sources of reference, especially if you make notes on them with a water resistant pen! Enjoy doodling 💖
Where can I buy the wooden spools, so I can create an embroidered roll. I am waiting for the arrival of your book I purchased. I'm excited.
Hi there. The spools are all available on my website - lornabatemanembroidery.com. thank you for purchasing the book - hope it gives you lots of inspiration!!💖
Wunderschön, ich kann leider nur über UA-cam es betrachten. Viel Spaß wünscht aus Germany Christina
Danke schön! 💕
Awesome! ❤❤
I ordered and received my copy and it's so beautiful...I love it! Thank you, Lorna!
